    Bolts should constantly be renewed!!! That is a must for the company BBS!

      ​@@vanishingpoint808The short answer to that is: depends on the bolts. Although titanium offers a superior strength to weight ratio when compared to steel, titanium isn't necessarily stronger than steel. So unless you are very sure of the specs of the bolts you're taking out, I wouldn't risk it and just renew them as BBS requires. Be it steel or titanium, metal fatigue happens to any metal that's exposed to repeated stresses.

      It doesn't hurt too bad as long as the pressure isn't too high and you're not pointing directly at your hands xD

    9/10 shops wouldn't even dissemble let alone clean up each bolt. Really thorough job and very refreshing to see 👌

      Neither would I disassemble the rims. Chances are high, shearing these screws off. Those are made of Titanium.
      Masking them and happy it is.

    1:34 for situations like the broken bolt you may give a *manual* impact driver a try.
    Like KS Tools 515.1003 (it's just the first one I happened to google)

    Would it be a good idea to clear coat the barrel? mine got restored a few years ago but it's been hard to maintain the rims, they are now black almost.

      They were just normal wheels back in the days. You have no Idea for what germans used them 😅 My grandfather put his garden hose around it... Some used them as flower potts

      They weren't "destroyed" the cerakote thats put on them from the factory is garbage.

    What did you use to polish the lips to get the chrome finish?

      120-240-400-600-800 sandpaper, than 2 polishing paste

      @@NEV3RL8 sand it with 80 or 120 grit to bare metal. Than 240 400 600 grit. Than buff witb paste

    Can you tell us what torque you used when re-installing the face bolts? I have a set of 2 piece AMG rims that will need to be refinished and the assembly torque is the only spec I am missing.

    Look great 😁I have the same mag and i planned to restor it but i dont have a sunblast or rust gun remover and paint gun so this is possible to do it without all this with just some sandpaper,chimical product,good sray cane skills? I know that would be long but my friend told me a restoration like that is almost the price of the mag so do u have any tips to do it on a budjet ? 🤔

      when I restored some badly worn aluminum wheels I only spent $140 on sandpaper, aluminum polish, and a polish applicator. It takes a boat load of time to do but its worth it in the savings you get compared to having a professional restore ur wheels

    I hah a set done a couple yrs ago had centre done in bronze with black barrel and bolts the Audi logo on the caps was in black as well. Looked 👍👌👌

    When an bolt is broken, we decide to weld an nut on it. Its the best and easiest way to replace it.

    Kudos for the effort, they look awesome. Did this sort of project on a couple sets of rims, I would consider applying clear lacquer after mirror polishing the bead. It was a pain to maintain if kept raw.👍
