- In this video we show step by step how to fit our new 2 in 1 LED fog lamps into the Land Rover Discovery 3 / LR3. We show how to fit the DRL control board and general wiring tips. We make a couple of mistakes but that should help you get it right !

I made mine more central by enlarging the holes on the fixing bracket and then moved them over just a fraction. Good product well pleased.
Yes you could bend / slot the holes a bit to suit your personal preference. It has taken about 6 months for us to get this kit correct as we had to design our own wiring and control board as we were not happy with any other product on the market so i am glad your are pleased.
Exactly what you need to do. I also grinded down from the edges of the inner consol to move more and cut some plastic under the screw clip. I reached almost perfect position.
For those with the ARB bullbar it is an extra step of removing the lower access plates (3 x 10mm bolts & 1 x 13mm bolt) at each end of the bullbar and working from behind and under, removing the fog lamp support bracket, which is unique to the ARB bar.
The bracket is held in place with 2 x 10mm bolts at the top and two metal tabs that hook in behind the indicator/park light mount. Easiest to take out the halogen globe & holder first as it gives you more room to use a ratchet.
And if your brackets are anything like mine it would be a good time to give them a coat of paint as the original zinc plating is showing its age.
You will also find that the headlamp assembly doesn't come out completely as the bullbar is stopping it, but you still have room to work.
But I ordered my kit direct from PowerfulUK website and it's very well put together and works a treat. Very happy.

Just fitted the kit to my D4 - works perfectly!
Excellent and a great product. Though I think I would have preferred having thr PCB in a small plastic sealed box, rather than in heat-shrink - better for moisture protection and easy to remove the top to change the PCB fuse.

Should I be able to see the pins in that unused fuse socket? Mine looks void of any metalwork but I'll find out tomorrow when I get the headlights back in! (D3 JLR 4.4 V8)
Hello, Have fitted the 2 in 1 LED fog lamps on my D3. You may put a warning at the beginning of the video to mention the LHD particularities... Opposed installation, no Ground connection on the RH side but LH side rear of the headlamp, etc... and publish it on your site. Thanks

Those DRL were abit delayed after indicating or swapping sides and didn't go back to both until headlights came on so is that just video or a delay on the board until a certain time ???

Great product Simon as always. Love the way the car looks and the way these operate. Some good clever design here. Fitted mine at the weekend. Just need to resolve a small problem with the parking sensors coming on👍👍
Great concept. One point though don't solder cables that are going into the terminal strip. This will make the cables hard and not crush properly for good electrical connection and will create a stress point that can and will break, especially in the high vibration environment of a vehicle.
I have a D4 that could do with this kit. I'm in Australia so how would I get the kit?
Hi John it some interesting points you raise.. solder will crush ok... its tin/lead so quite soft but you make be correct with the stress point. Dont buy this kit .. the brackets are not correct for the D4... give me a few days and we will get this kit done for the D4 with the correct brackets.... actually the original brackets are for the D4 ( the brackets i remove in the video )

Update took of the kit from Disco and went back to HID kit much brighter than the led. One thing tho the DRL side of the kit is nice and bright but the foglight side not bright at all. Shame, live and learn.
Fair comment - I dont think our lights could compete for light output with HID dedicated fog.. for a lot of people they rarely use their fog lights - and they were not even standard on all models.
How about creating headlights for a Discovery 3 that look like the headlights on the new Defender? They will become very popular I predict

I would assume that the LR4 is OK with this conversion since it still has the good old bezels 🤨
I will do a kit for the Lr4 / Disco 4 - it will be the same as this but you do not need to swap to our custom brackets... and hence the LR4 kit will be cheaper... I will try and get this done next week !

They are due in this week - we have about 400 sets due in.... but as we are not it till 4th Jan they may not be on website till 5th Jan

These lights with the original bracket will fit the Freelander 2 ... the wiring kit should also fit... I will try to get this video done next week also !
@@L663 I'd be interested in a full kit for the Freelander 2 2010 model. The last time I looked on your website it said buy a controller off ebay but I'm sure people, like me, would rather buy the full kit that has been proven to work - Looking forward to the FL2 video!
I bought the set running daylights / foglights from you, now I have connected the set and when the 14v is reached the RDL turns on. but at the same time I get a fault message from the park sensor. What can I do about this, without 12v power supply RDL the foglights work without interference from the park sensor.
We had this problem before and the problem was the earth wire. Make sure you have a good earth connection.
@@L663 thank you for your quick reply but unfortunately I checked all connections new earth cable pulled directly from battery to PCB but still the same.
Hi Simon. I have the same problem. Front parking sensors sound solidly when I switch them on even though I am no where near anything. Earth is taken from the bolt by the fuse box which is done up tight.
@@andyviking The problem i believe is that the DRL lights are using the fog light earth. The fog light earth is on the same loom as the parking sensors and could be causing a problem. Can you try connecting the earth wire that is not connected on the new loom behind the fog light into the factory earth on the fog light H11 connector. My car does not have parking sensors.. i did not get a problem on the Sport 2005. I am sure the issue is related to the earth. Sorry about this keep me posted and i will try and get this resolved.
@@L663 will do. It’s certainly some kind of electrical interference issue. The D3 is very sensitive to any sort of electrical changes - witness all the brake bulb related faults! Very happy with the purchase btw - and top notch customer service👍👍
Why go to the effort of making your own controller PCB then putting in some crappy heatshrink at the front of the car? Thats going to get moisture in it in no time.
Either modify your loom so the PCB is in the battery/fuse box enclosure or fit it in the IP rated box with cable glands!

Simon, I know you're not keen on them but you fitted the scotchlock incorrectly. The wire you are running through the block should be on the top and the new auxiliary wire should be on the bottom against the built in stop. Hope this helps for the future

What fuse is on the PCB and what fuse is on the battery live fuse jumper?

Really like these lights, just fitted them this weekend, look great, DRL work perfectly, fog lights not so, fuse is fine, changed it anyway, I was quite methodical about the fit, all connections soldered, any advice/help why the fog lights don’t work would be appreciated.
Hi John - sorry to hear this. OK so the fog light should be powered straight from the car. Make sure you have your lights on and the fog lights on - they only work with your lights on.
You can just pull the unit forward and swap the fog light connector over to your old fog light on one side. The only other concern i have is that the fog connection on our lights is swapped over + and - but we have not had a new batch recently and no one else has complained. Does this help ? Simon
