Free little libraries that people have is where I found a bunch of the hard books for toddlers! I’m in Portland Oregon and they are everywhere in all the neighborhoods!
Drew, these are absolutely beautiful. Such a creative use for board books. I know I’ve passed up several at library book sales and thrift stores. Not any more!
Brilliant idea - going out to thrift stores today -- You can do random art as you have done, which is great btw, or write/illustrate a book of your own.
Thank you. You have awesome and creative ideas. So inspired. Saw your fun pen and gelli video and hoping you’ll consider showing us some more of your gelli print techniques. Again many thanks.

Love this! So clever using the board books! Found you via Instagram where I came across your work - super cool, love all the graphics in your gelli transfer method and fabric work. Be well!
Loved this idea, thanks for sharing, I'm already in the process of applying gesso so I can paint directly on the pages. Excited to begin.. I have one question, when you trim away the protective deli paper insert, is some of it left stuck around the edges on the reverse side of the page, where medium from the front might have seeped under?
Thank you! I keep them in water, then dry them when I am finished. I *have* ruined my share of brushes, though, so I don't use brushes that are too expensive.
Love your prints they are gorgeous. How did you incorporate the number 2? They look so professional. What do you do with the books once you’ve put your lovely art in them?
Thanks for watching! Please press the thumbs up and subscribe if you like my videos 👍
Would love to see video where you just page through 3 or 4 of your books.

Oh, great idea, I used one of my children's old board books for a recipe book, never thought of doing art in one. Thank you for sharing.
Happy to share!
Cool.

Such a creative idea. Wish I had hung onto a of my kids board books! Thank you for sharing and for instructing us.
You are so welcome!
I marvel at all the pages in your board books. The ones I’ve found only have 4-5 pages
Mine usually have 7-9 pages minus the cover.
love your work. Im really inspired. Thank you for sharing x
Great video! Thanks so much for sharing.
Thank you! Happy to share my knowledge.
Love the board books!
Me too! They're really fun to use.
the board books look beautiful!
Thank you. They are really great for collage.
FYI…without abrasion, the gesso will peal off. Will follow your process. Tnx.
Great idea! And I love your papers! A unique take on gel prints!
Thanks so much!
This is just brilliant and love your detailed instructions. Thank you so much!
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for sharing your techniques! So lovely! How many finished board books do you have?
Very informative. Thanks so much for sharing!❤️
You are so welcome!
This is awesome. I'm obsessed with that paper with the giant numbers on it. What is that from?
It's a giant wall calendar called a Stendig Calendar.
I love it. The question is what do you do with this beautiful book after it’s done.? 🤔🤔🤔
Thanks! Mostly, the books just sit on the shelf. I am considering selling them in the future.
Beautiful art!!! And I would buy prints for sure.
@@DrewSteinbrecher I know there's a lot of work in these beautiful books. At what price might you sell them?
I also use board books.. I just tear the glossy part off.. then add other white paper ..
Great idea!
New subscriber! Thank you for your tips and videos!

Do you ever cut out a page in order to make more space for the added layers on pages?
No. I break the spine and retape it.

I have one question, when you trim away the protective deli paper insert, is some of it left stuck around the edges on the reverse side of the page, where medium from the front might have seeped under?
Yes, sometimes it does seep under the page, unfortunately.
Love your videos. I also use a brush with matte medium and wonder if you have any cleaning tips for the poor brush! I usually throw it away..
Thank you! I keep them in water, then dry them when I am finished. I *have* ruined my share of brushes, though, so I don't use brushes that are too expensive.
Do you always use one sheet of printed paper for the cover of the book?
No. I usually collage the cover.
Love your prints they are gorgeous. How did you incorporate the number 2? They look so professional. What do you do with the books once you’ve put your lovely art in them?
Thank you! The number 2 is from a wall calendar... I use a lot of different papers to gel print over top of. The books mostly sit on my bookshelf! 😏
Brilliant!
