This car is amazing in almost every aspect! I recently surprised my wife with the 2024 E Supercharged in Makalu Gray with the all white interior. This is our 5th Genesis vehicle and her 2nd G90, which is a 2021 5.0. In silver with the taupe interior. My wife says the 2024 is only missing the 5.0 8 cylinder. If she wants more acceleration, she just jumps in her 2022 C8 Corvette LT2 Z51. Remember, a happy wife is a blessing!😇
I own a Genesis. It's the best car I've ever driven. I had a 5 series Bummer... that car was nothing compared to my Genesis. I won't own anything else but a Genesis . This is an amazing car for sure!!!!
What an AWESOME REVIEW! By far the most comprehensive, useful review of this fabulous vehicle. Thank you for this in depth introduction to the vehicle. TOP MARKS!
Just purchased a 2023 Genesis G90 3.5 E-Supercharger. Original dive into this brand was an Equs, just traded in my 2018 G90. I love this brand and have not had any issues with any Gensis that I have owned.
Glad to have the normal speed again.... Please keep the sound on your videos this way! Great to have the index in the description so can jump to whatever is of interest if don't want to watch all the video. 👍
Oh, but don't forget, they've started after the Japanese first THEN the Germans. Genesis is doing what Toyota (Lexus) did in 1990. Yes, Honda (Acura) began that movement in 1986 to reasonable success, but they did so only meagerly, posing no real threat to the Germans. Toyota came in HOT with a potent V8, a first for Japanese auto makers, but with bullet-proof reliability. I should know, of all my current cars, my 1996 Lexus LS400 is still my baby.
@@BPoweredLove no not really lexus had crazy success since the beginning genesis still don’t sell as much and they don’t even still have their own dealers kind of a flop but nice cars decently reliable
Try The Car Care Nut review of this car - way more in depth, shows every design deficiency from the engine, power train and interior. That one is the absolute best in depth review of this car.
MIKE I WATCH A VARIETY OF VIDEO'S TO GET A BETTER VIEW OF A VEHICLE REVIEW. MIKE YOU ARE TO THEM THE DIFFERENCE IN HOW FAR YOU CAN THROW A BULLET VS HOW FAR YOU CAN SHOT A BULLET. NO ONE IS EVEN CLOSE. YOU HAVE REVEALED ALL ABOUT THIS FANTASTIC CAR. IT IS 'CAR OF THE YEAR' MOTOR TREND AND I FULLY AGREE, BUT YOU TOOK US ALL THE WAY. NEED TO TAKE A RIDE IN THIS LUXURY INEXPENSIVE ROLLS ROYCE.😁😁😁😁😁
Wonderful extensive review, Mike. That G90 is something else. I like the buttons for closing doors and the button to open the door in the event the power goes out, among other nice touches.
Right? Lincoln Continental only the driver has the option to open the door in the case of power failure. This G90 is FAR superior in everyway to the badly made newer last years of the Lincoln Continentals.
Thanks an ocean, sir for such a nice job.👍👍👍👍👍👍 I just came across your channel and I found it very informative; I mean that is the best review I have ever seen. You obviously respect your addressees by providing them with complete reviews. Wish you everlasting success. 🌹🌹🌹
Germany should be very concerned! I recently rented a 2021 G80 3.5at for a trip to New Orleans. The vehicle was; smooth, quiet, of high quality materials, great fit and finish. And it was stupid fast, secure handling and rear wheel drive. The car resembles a Bentley and nothing else. It is an attention grabber. It may purchase a 21 or 22 G80.
Question: If the car's battery dies with the doors locked, and the door handles can't pop out to access the key hole, how can you open the door to pop the hood for a jump start, or get to the battery in the trunk to replace it?
"When the door handles do not operate properly due to battery discharge or other causes, you can manually pop out the door handle by pressing the front part of the door handle. When it pops out, unlock the door with the key and pull the handle to open the door." owners.genesis.com/genesis/us/mygenesis/manuals/glovebox-manual/2023/g90/2023-G90-Owners-Manual.pdf
The interior is stunning, I just have a huge problem with a V6 in a car that weighs more than 3 tons. Empty curb weight is 6,200 pounds, that would be a lot of car for a V8, I have a 2021 Chevy Silverado 4 door 4X4 long bed supercab and this car weighs just 800 pounds less than my truck which has a 5.3 liter motor.
This car is faster and more responsive than a lot of V8 cars I have driven. It is not just a v6 engine powering the vehicle. It has an electric motor and battery that adds significantly to the driving experience.
Where is the Brake hold feature , how do you set the clock , is there lighted door sills and no rear view mirror camera is definitely a deal breaker in a six figure car
A few things; I went to test and purchase, but bought a great mechanic with me. First off, the front doors are extremely heavy to open because you're pushing against the motor that closes it - that gets tired quick. The AC is belt driven - so when the auto engine stop kicks in at a stop, hot air comes out. Expensive to maintain - but when you're paying $100,000.00 that may not be a consideration. Not a standard alternator - it's complicated and expensive. Lastly, I tire of many manufacturers making the valve covers out of plastic - but the plastic on this one feels real cheap.
Too expensive relative to the dealership experience. The local dealer here pastes their ugly dealership sticker on the trunk lid and draws non shoppers into their dealership with misleading sweepstakes. Also, it’s disappointing that Genesis forces you into “sport” styling choices if you want the bigger engines, though this doesn’t apply to G90. On topic, this G90 is a gorgeous car I’d love to own. I’d take this over any German alternative,
True, but, the Mercedes does come with a more powerful engine that's befitting to the price point and the seats have true massagers, rather than the inflatable sections simulating to massage in the G90. The S500 is also more refined in its operation. Had the difference been at least $35K less or more, the G90 would've been a lot more convincing. Genesis, unfortunately, no longer offers the screaming value it used to against the competition. It is more expensive than Lexus right now and approaching the Germans. The quality is certainly there but not yet the brand equity, but to me, that's not necessarily a bad thing.
Extended warranty is also called a service contract. It is offered by the manufacturer or dealership to give you additional coverage after the factory warranty expires.
One thing I don’t get on many new cars is a large glass panel and then it only opens 1/3-1/2 way only. It’s like a hole in the roof not a sunroof! The Cadillacs are like that, the 17-20 continental , this car etc. They go back maybe 10-13”. Why bother!!!
I think it is to avoid the potential for a massive air exchange... Dirt and road debris flowing inside while ejecting internal items out. A larger opening will allow the rear glass to catch the air, sort of like an ice-cream scoop. A smaller opening allows high speed air to smoothly flow over the vehicle and create an air curtain.
That’s a lot of fluff! It’s a POOR DESIGN period. I have a 70 mark lll with a sunroof panel about 22”x 41” and it opens all the way rearward. Nothing gets sucked in or out and it’s pleasant driving with it open even at hwy speeds not terribly loud and no buffeting of wind. We had 70s and 80s cars with similarly large glass moonroofs same deal they opened up to reveal a large opening. Look at the last generation Lincoln MKZ wit pano roof. That was almost like a convertible so it CAN be done. It’s just that manufactures don’t care and throw what they want thinking it’s good enough it opens. Not acceptable on a100 k car.
Such a beautiful car & I want a G90 so bad, but ALL Genesis Service Department reviews on all of Yelp is nothing but complaints & horrible reviews regarding wait times, cars sitting waiting for parts & repairs, the lack of care, no call backs to customers, no loaners EVER available (like their warranty contract states) & so many other complaints in at ALL Genesis Dealership Service Departments across the USA, the list goes on & on. Genesis Dealership's Service Departments sound totally worthless & this makes the warranty basically VOID & worthless to me & makes me totally reluctant on purchasing one. How is any warranty worth anything if they lie on the warranty contract in regards to their service and don't care about their customer base in Service Departments EVERYWHERE across the USA? If I was to buy I'd have to take it to ANY other mechanic than a Genesis dealership service department that is worthless. It makes no sense in buying a new car. Genesis is RUINING their dealerships & making BORKEN PROMISES to customers it sounds like to me on their warranties on their vehicles because their Dealership Service Department sound totally worthless. I'm second guessing buying a G90 for these main reasons.
@ @europec2082 I thought at first some fluid was leaking too but I think it was just the evaporator dripping condensation. This was after all California and I’m sure it was hot when he filmed this and he had the AC on
Yeah, those dollar store pointers are very poor quality and do not look good. They should step up their game and get the real deal like I use! These are rather rare though... I spent over $35 years ago for the one used in this video (before customization). I am continuing a 30+ year automotive tradition of using hand pointers started by the Japanese racing community.

Funny yellow hand.
The frame in the middle of the front grille should also be glossy black-matte black and the frame silver, as it is now. 🤔
Imo the middle front grill should be ALL 100% chrome. When I get me one I'm having my front grill all chrome dipped.
The double blinkers on the fender don't look good. A single line would look better. Also the grill is too big. Should be just a touch smaller
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍💖
