    The Sleepy Hollow set looks so realistic. The layers of mist and forbidding grey sky really create an uneasy atmospheric backdrop to the film. A great example of cast, crew and sets coming together to create something memorable.

    • @amber_updike
      @amber_updike 12 часов назад

      Yes! I think the set pieces for the town are pretty similar to the original Washington Irving story with the farmland and the covered bridge and stuff(don't remember if there was a church in the original story though), other then the constant greyness and mist set the tone, but also how when like, you knew the horseman was coming or had come how the sky was changed to black clouds and thunder and lightning and how the music was risen and dramatic, it's all the little details that perfected and made this movie incredible

    This is actually one of my favorite Tim Burton movies! I love to watch it around Halloween. I really liked Depp's portrayal of Crane and am honestly glad they turned down doing the prosthetic makeup on him as I think it would have been more distracting tbh. Plus I like the idea of having a really handsome dashing Crane but his characters personality was opposite as he wasn't the typical heroic type but instead a gentle person with interesting quirks.

      As a child, I watched Disney's SH on their Sunday night series, and had nightmares for well over a month. Knowing this was the same fictional source as that going in to watch the movie, I know my feelings of fear would be displaced, but I think Burton's vision plus my already hyped up horror going in to watching the movie added to the creepiness of SH making it even better like seasoning in a soup makes a better chicken soup--if that makes sense. (I didn't watch Disney's SH again until well into my early 30's because it still gave me chills to think about viewing it! The Car did the same thing to me; I had childhood nightmares for months and then watched it in my early 30's)

      Micheal Cormier I absolutely love the Sleepy Hollow movie. The Disney animated movie is okay, it’s scary me as a kid. It’s good in its own way. To me it’s purpose is if people wanted see an adaptation more accurate to the novel. The Disney cartoon movie from 1949 is the to see

    Odd Fact: Even though it has been known as Sleepy Hollow for hundreds of years, when it officially incorporated, it took the name North Tarrytown. Despite being internationally famous, it kept this stupid name based on nearby unfamous Tarrytown until 1996. Just 3 years before this movie was released. In 1996 it finally officially became Sleepy Hollow.

      I used to live near Sleepy Hollow and have been there for work and relaxation many times. In October there is a huge, elaborate display of Jack O’Lanterns at one of the old 17th Century manor homes. It’s also where Major Andre was captured with the plans acquired from Benedict Arnold. Washington Irving wanted to give his small home its own unique legend, and wound up making it world famous.

    Definitely one of my favorite Halloween time movies. The movie in fact inspired me to go take a trip to Sleepy Hollow in Tarrytown, New York at Halloween time. One of the best trips I've ever taken. The Hudson River Valley communities do a great job at Halloween. I highly recommend going and I highly recommend watching this movie.

    The action figures were part of a lineup of famous classic other horror action figures lineup called the Movie Maniacs series designed by legendary comic book artist Todd McFarlane the creator of Spawn. The series of toys included horror icons such as Jason Freddy Krueger Michael Myers Chucky Candyman The Crow Etc.

      Yeah, you can see the logo on the package, so the comment in the video about "toys being marketed for an R rated movie" doesn't really make sense, as McFarlane toys are usually collectors figures and not like, $6 whatever cartoon is popular now action figures.

    I love this flick. It has the perfect atmosphere, and I find it's a great way to kick off spooky movie season. The Action Figure Line was done by McFarlane Toys, and wasn't necessarily meant for kids. The line fit in more with the Movie Maniacs line McFarlane had at the time, which was marketed more toward adult collectors. I still have my Ichabod figure and it's pretty great. Awesome likeness of Depp and a ton of accessories. The downside is they don't have much articulation. I remember it was the first thing I purchased from this new site at the time called Amazon. Wonder whatever happened to them... Never could find the horseman, in either form. Great vid, as always, Minty! Until the next one...
