    To me "The Mummy" was the movie I could watch over and over and never tire of it. I love the cast, the direction, the music .. Just everything come together for a great action movie. The chemistry between the stars was there and everything worked.

      Me too! in fact when ever I saw it was playing on tv I had to stop and watch it. I love this movie. Brendan and Rachel had great chemistry on screen. I immediately took notice of Rachel as I'd never seen her before and thought she was fantastic. I actually loved all the cast and the music was so good. 13th Warrior is one of my favorite movies too and is underrated, the score by goldsmith really elevates things. Some have pointed out some similarities in the 2 scores but personally I feel it doesn't detract from either movie and there is many differences of personality to each.

      Everyone keeps forgetting the gunplay! This movie has awesome gunplay- and a lot of it. Not many movies can say that in the last two decades. The period's weapons are well represented, especially to include the aircraft Lewis gun (the one with the big, round drum magazine on top) near the end.

      His physique works well, but his face also sells that his character is a little goofy and while he's brave, he's not as recklessly fearless as Indiana Jones.

    • @t-boog2173
      @t-boog2173 4 года назад +8

      @It's a Bunnay I agree. Not having Rachael Weisz in the third movie was bad enough but replacing her with a diff actress(with a worst accent) didn't work at all.
      IMO, They should've just left her character out of the movie and gave a reason for her absence. She could've been away on an important dig or something. Which would've worked even better if they could've got Rachael to do one or two "phone call" scenes(like they did with Daniel's mom in the Karate Kid sequel).
      Replacing a beloved main character seldomly works, esp if the rest of the cast is the same. It's like an insult to the viewer's intelligence and it distracts us from getting into the movie. Otherwise, I don't think it was a bad script. (Not great but not bad)

    When this movie came out I was 17 and lived with my dad. We were pretty poor at the time. We finally had a TV after almost a year without one(was given to us). But we didn't have and cable or anything. Eventually someone gave us a VCR, and my dad bought 2 movies at Hastings. The Mummy and The Mask Of Zorro. And for almost a year, those movies were the only movies we had. And we watched them everyday, for almost a year. And they both will always have a special place in my heart. But especially The Mummy. I connected with that movie on a pretty personal level. My dad too. We still laugh about the "old days when we only had those two movies"!

    I had just gone to get new glasses, had an eye test that left me with my pupils wide open. I stumble half blind into the nearby theater to kill a few hours to wait for my glasses. Found myself in the theater for the first screening completely alone watching the mummy. I’ve never experienced such creepiness watching a movie before. Still love this movie to this day.

    I was shocked how Brendan Fraser was a serious dude but still had his sense of humor. Perfect choice for him!

    NO BODY ever talks about how all the CG images of the Pyramids at Giza that were created to show Egypt back around 2500 B.C. are wrong. When finished they were covered with smooth white limestone, the CG images show them how they look today---plundered their exteriors. Stripped of most of their smooth white limestone coverings, the Pyramids no longer reach their original heights, when finished the Great Pyramid was about 481 feet now it's about 451. Thanks for the upload. Great content......

    This was ALWAYS my favorite Mummy movie and that MUSIC!! WOW! I always listen to the ending music all the way through when I've finished watching the movie. I love the glint off the gold in the camel's bag as Brendan and Rachel ride off into the sunset and that fantastic music builds. In fact, I think I'll go fire it up right now on my new larger screen. Thank you for giving us the 10 things list with this one!

    The type of movie that, inside of the first 2-3 minutes, you just knew great entertainment was on the way. With burgers, fries and drinks, my family and I sat back to watch what has become a favorite and now has been passed on to my two grandsons. Thank you, Actors and Hollywood!

    Sounds like the Clive Barker version should have been the one to kick off Universal's Dark Universe instead of the Tom Cruise one. It tried too much to be like the Brendan version.

    Thank you for this review! Evy is my favorite of the movie's characters "I am a librarian!" but Brendan and his timing, humorous delivery and his physical effort he put into the film were part of what made it so good. The chemistry between Brandon and Rachel was there on the film, and it's part of what made me like Mummy 2 so much we'd watch either 1 or 2 almost every night before bed in 2005-2006 (my youngest son adored it). I haven't watched Tom's Mummy. I'm a bit afraid to honestly--just like part of me really doesn't want to watch 2018's Cats. As for SW: Phantom Menace, I actually liked that movie. I love Liam's character portrayal of Qui Jon and he's my favorite character in the Star Wars' universe live action movies. I think if it wasn't for JarJar, the movie wouldn't have been on so many people's "Ugh!" lists--but there is a version where someone dubbed JarJar's voice and made the movie much much better I'm told. I haven't found it, but I've been told it's out there. When we did finally get DVDs of the Mummy, we ended up getting the 3 disk package with 1, 2, and TSK. I've seen M3 2x. It hasn't gotten any better. I miss Rachel; the chemistry was gone and it ruined the movie for me.

    A decade ago my friend and I were in Seattle for some concerts. We park close to downtown and after a few steps she said "I forgot my map!" Withouth hesitation, I blurt out "Relax! IM THE MAP! It's all up here" amd she responded "That's comforting!"
    We may have watched this movie a lot
