Thank you so much for this video, I know it was over a year ago but all of your tips and level of detail in your explanation are so so so helpful to a new builder such as myself, you've saved me many mistakes!
Awesome job, I love how you explained the smallest detail that can become a big problem in the future. I’m looking forward to more videos like this. Thank you for your time. Take care my friend. MTFBWY, Always
Not to say that I won’t feel differently at some point, but Anakin’s saber has never had much appeal for me personally. You never know though. My tastes have changed drastically on other things as I’ve gotten older.
You have piqued my interest enough to join the Facebook group and finally start my journey at finding a hilt to install. Keep up the good work. I've watched tons of videos on the subject and never thought I could sabersmith, but your explanations and clarity make me feel like if I'm careful, plan, and triple check everything after cleaning all my flux off with a bottle and a half of alcohol, lol 😂. I should have a working lightsaber put together by me. Now to find a hilt.
I’m glad they have been helpful! It’s definitely a patient person’s game, especially when you first start. Best rule of thumb is to never do it when you are tired, frustrated, or burnt out. Breaks and breathers are sooo important. I hope we’ll be seeing your progress posts in the group once you have selected components!
@@EccentricArtisan Will do once I get it together. :) Making a list of all the tools and materials I'll need besides a soldering iron and helping hands which I own. Any place with a decent list of recommended tools?
The supplies you use. Do they make the Saber itself durable enough for intense dueling? If you've already said that in the video, I might've missed it.
Good question. Yes they do! Especially in combination with how I build my blades specifically for dueling. I have a video on that process as well. The one thing that is sometimes experienced with removable batteries is the saber shutting off or restarting upon heavy contact. That can usually be solved by reinforcing or shimming the contacts closer together if it becomes an issue.
Thank you! Honestly I didn’t keep track. When I do builds for myself, I don’t care about price much. Considering the hilt was such a good price when I got it though, it may have been around $200 in parts.
I appreciate the interest, but I’m not currently taking commissions. If you want to try it yourself, I recommend joining the group linked in the description to learn and ask questions. But if you want someone to install it, ask within the group called Universal Lightsaber Community on Facebook to find who is currently taking on commissions. Make sure to get group input and see previous work, so you pick someone who does good work.
No, I am not there yet. I haven’t taken the plunge of getting a 3D printer and properly learning to design. I applaud you for working on that skill though! I know it’s not easy.
Hey, thanks for the sub! I appreciate the interest, but I don’t have one of those hilts. And currently my backlog of installs I need to complete is very high. I do have more install videos coming, but currently that one isn’t in the cards.
I got the chassis from a seller on etsy, but it’s not currently available. I need to talk to him and see if he’ll be offering it again. Also, I need to hunt down some other sources.
@@EccentricArtisan Thank you for the link! Unfortunately I won't be offering this chassis design at this time since it has proven to be too fragile and not something I'm comfortable with offering. I do have some ideas for a possible redesign but I'll likely not be tackling it unless there is another run of SSQy. But you're in luck since there are now more SSQy chassis offerings available from other awesome chassis designers.
@@herbertwong9528 wow, thanks so much for the update man. I appreciate it. Sorry to hear that, but I understand. I’ll point people to other chassis options, and hopefully we will see more runs of this guy.

Surprising as it may sound, flux is conductive. However, it doesn’t allow large amounts of current flow, but generally very small to moderate leaks that can cause temporary malfunction or potentially ruin components. I’ve had several personal experiences with it that I’ve been able to detect through process of elimination and use of a multimeter, but don’t take my word for it. If you do a bit of google searching, you’ll find plenty of pages talking about it.
I implemented code that was already written for the most part. But CFX is quite different than proffie in that regard. If you go to the manuals section on the Plecter Labs website you’ll be able to find the latest CFX manual and read about how to setup effects for that board. I have never used one myself, so I don’t personally know any more about it. I’ll put the link here though. www.plecterlabs.com/shop/

have you ever modified a 2005 master replica saber

What is that you use to clean excess flux?
It’s called isopropyl alcohol. Can usually be found in the pharmacy section or at a drug store or can be ordered online. Any kind should work fine.
Where did u bought the positive and negative terminals fit the switched ?
Those particular terminals came with the chassis. Some sellers send them with their chassis.
