I always believed Mel Gibson was a better actor than the public thought. Now I realize he's become a better director than he was an actor, which is brilliant.
@@Roadtoinferno You could have literally picked ANY other movie by him and I would have entertained the idea of it. Hell, Apocalypto and Hacksaw Ridge blow that schlocky Jesus movie out of the water! You really need to work on your rebuttal skills. 😂🤦♂️
@@YogsenForfothman is a fan of cgi and lame fight dare to talk about mel skill of directing u're taste is basic don't blame his fantastic skill on making movie
To be fair, his level of crazy is in its own category. These balanced moments from the past are few and far between now a days. Working on films with him can be exhausting depending on where his meter is sitting on that day.
I got cast in a short movie as a teenager after a casting agent spotted me in a supermarket. I used to box and I had just had a match the night before, she told me I had the look they was after and should audition. I got the part of thug no1 and never acted again as I was joining the army a couple of months later, I always wondered what could of been.
@Nerthus the joke is I had 2 lines and they cut them in the edit 😆 I was the only one who didn't need make up as I'd got a beating 2 days before filming
When he gets drunk he gets into fights, he told a story on a late night show how he got into a fight with a Polynesian bouncer at a resort when drunk and got the shit beat out of him so he decided then he shouldn't drink.
Lots of actors have rough starts before they go to acting school. Some start acting as a class in prison. Just because he graduated from acting school doesn't mean he wasn't also a brawler.
He is an actor, they don’t lie, they act. I know Mel went to NIDA, because he was a classmate of a close friend, who says everyone at NIDA was betting he would make it as a Director, not an actor!
He's an awesome actor/director to say the least ! Another cool part of his past is he was born just a few miles from where I lived in NYS ! His Father moved the family to Australia when he was I believe 5 years old. The first movie I saw him in was called something like summer heat . The second one was Tim. Then well as well know - MAD MAX.
Right place. Right time. Same with Harrison Ford. He was about ready to leave Hollywierd because he wasn't doing well. He happened to be doing carpentry work in the offices when Lucas needed another guy to help read lines while casting for Star Wars.
Mel and his end-of-the world nomad-wanderer movies were released in competition with Ahulds Predator and Stallone's Rocky/Rambo movies and Bruce Willis's Die Hard franchise 💫💯
Again folks. Who is Amy’s to keep telling me that luck doesn’t play about 90% of success in life. It’s just ridiculous how all these famous rich people have 1-2 stories involving luck but i have to hear bout hard work and perseverance blah blah.
I love Mel, who hasn't said shit when they were drunk, he only said things about peopel who supposedly don't run Hollywood, yet he is still persona non grata from Hollywood, just a coincidence I suppose, same coincidence happened when Kanye went on his rant too. The Mel tapes are a different story thise are just comedy gold.

Lots of people get down on him. He is human, makes mistakes, and is real !
Some mistakes are never forgiven... you know the tribe.
To be fair, his level of crazy is in its own category. These balanced moments from the past are few and far between now a days. Working on films with him can be exhausting depending on where his meter is sitting on that day.
They never called him a liar, tho, did they?
No mistake made.
Are we really going to call letting slip that you’re a racist and a bigot “making a mistake”?
What mistake? Most wars have been started by Jews. All of them in the past 200+ years.
Good story, loved his work over the years
He got into a fight with a few rugby players. Those guys are pretty f'ing big!
I played rugby for 10 years we used to have fights during the game but almost always after the game lol and while drinking😅😅😂
I remember the Sydney standover man Tim Bristow saying he used to love belting rugby players coz they were slow, dumb and they couldn't fight lol.
@@blackie75 he was an idiot then
weren't those Ukrainian girls?
They aren't bigger than Mel Gibson. 😁
I love Mel Gibson his first Australian movie was called Tim . He was so handsome , I knew he would be a Star ⭐️
I loved that movie!!
summer city was his first movie
Oh I LOVED that movie. His character was so sweet. ❤
3 weeks later when he came back healed up he was the most handsome man ever.

Most of time you need to be in the right place at the right time
One of the few times, when getting the hell beat out of you turns out to be a good thing😂
You can fault the man easily, but ya can't fault his work. Road Warrior is iconic......

The best Australian in the world...
Some people are just naturally likable...
He's not even an Aussie 😅 Born in New York, moved to Australia at 13 and only lived here about 10 years.

I loved Road Warrior. I saw it with my Daddy!
I still drool all the way through SNY Mad Max movie! 🥰😳
Beyond Thunderdome with that long hair & later the short haircut totally did it for me-have mercy! 😍🤤🥰🤗
Badass movie.
I had the biggest crush on Mad Max 😮
Mel is not a lover, he's a fighter!
I miss this guy. Make more movies man.
Don’t be misled, Mel graduated from the Premier acting College in Australia “NIDA” National Institute of Dramatic Arts.
So this story he tells is fictional?
Lots of actors have rough starts before they go to acting school.
Some start acting as a class in prison. Just because he graduated from acting school doesn't mean he wasn't also a brawler.

Mel Gibson is such a badass... Love this story, and nobody else can pull off Mad Max.
I remember watching Mad Max foe the first time. When I was a kid.
He is a great actor...love his stuff!!
Mel is the ONLY Mad Max imo.
AMEN. 💯
He is an actor, they don’t lie, they act. I know Mel went to NIDA, because he was a classmate of a close friend, who says everyone at NIDA was betting he would make it as a Director, not an actor!

Wish we can see Mel Gibson play old version of Mad Max again
Born for Mad Max
Mad Max.. saw it in the theater....
Iconic movie
Success is half chance. Being in the right place at the right time.

Great man
Gibson is a great director and actor
And what an iconic role
Mel is great guy. The Patriot is still one of my favorite movies. Can’t wait till Resurrection of The Christ is released!
Be there when the wheel turns, he was .❤😊
What an awesome actor 👏

Beyond Thunderdome was amazing. I still say "Break a deal spin the wheel"
Mad Max isn't his first movie role. His first movie was Tim.
Perfect example of right place, right time. God will always open doors for you, but you can’t always reach them from your couch.
How lucky can you be
Mel Gibson you should make a remake of that movie it was great you think you're up for it
Awesome movie
HIS NAME WAS SWELL GIBSON, GET IT.
Yeah, all those years studying theater and working your ass off, it was just a crazy hitchhiking story.
I love Mel Gibson.
The photos are from the second mad max,he is talking about the first one!
Hand of God....who works in mysterious ways his wonders to perform...
I heard this story years ago, but wasn't sure if it were true. It is! What a break he got. Pun intended.
The road warrior!
Looks like it was a good fight
Back when men knew they were men.
😂
Read a history book.
He was probably taunting an immigrant - while drinking too much at his local bar , after church with his dad - and the Greek guy got the better of him
Talk about Lucky Break
Ads on to the nostalgia
So handsome!
Wow mad max
Mel is a real one
Thanks for introducing us to the Wasteland 🎉
Mel the man
Anyone out there ever see him star in a movie called Tim ?
Anyone know the name of the movie where the plane crash with him and he ended up on that lonely island
mel finds himself astounding
Fallout New Gibson ?
An average Saturday night in sydney in the late 70s
Always find it hard to find a resemblance between young Mel Gibson and old Mel Gibson.
I am not surprised
All the Photos Shown here are from Mad Max 2
WOW imagine a lucky break like that !!! God works in masterious Ways ❤❤❤ Godbless this WORRIOR
Mel has possibly the most profitable ass whipping in actor's history. I hope he gave the guys that brutalized him something in appreciation.
Mels Godly and doing Gods will ! Praise be to God for choosing Mel !
Fact Australia only has 1 bridge.
I have a fabulous oil painting of Mel Gibson as Mad Max. Anyone know how to contact him or an agent maybe?
Mess ..agreed yes

See “Gallipoli”. You’re welcome
Cool..
Hhhaahahaha! That how Mel got the starting role!😊
Mel used to love a drink and a fight, oh yes he did.
On side note, it's interesting how MG has completely lost his Australian accent.
