Theres actually a reason to this I think: Mayuri needs "data" and information to put into his altered bankai, right? So I think his inventions need to be able to feel pain, so he can use that information (that he feels probably in a very detailed way through his gadgets) that he can then put into his bankai. Basically anything not alive and without senses can't save battle data Mayuri needs.
I think living beings are being used because what else do you store spiritual pressure in? They don't seem to weaponize reishi like the quinicies, It's not like they have soul batteries for weapons.
The funny thing is, Mayuri WAS in prison for decades and Urahara let him out because he saw how smart Mayuri was and wanted his help conducting experiments. One mad scientist helping another. Yay?

Urahara built the means to the gate, but mayuri contributed with reiatsu amplifier to help open it, saying that mayuri assisted with building it would be like saying that every shinigami helped with building it. And SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS mayuri did not defeat perninda alone, in matter fact he was all out of idea on how to win until nemu stepped in and helped him and mayuri got a means to defeat perninda, but that was with outside help. the counter was only used by mayuri and no one else, so its not really contributing to him helping everyone else. Mayuri is altho the mvp in tybw and i wont argue with that and the rest of your points! its just these points that arent true or really a contribution to the team.

Also, Yhwach TOOK the left arm. Ichibe even mentioned like “Do you think you can do something by taking the left arm?” So yeah, the left arm was abducted and brainwashed to be a quincy.
To add on that: The Soul Kings Left Arm got absorbed by Yhwach in the process of sealing his eyes so he got resurrected as a Sternritter later on and on Yhwachs side.
I find it cool that a character like Mayuri thats interested in science and research and discovering new things is fighting against the soul king's hand that deals with "advancement". Its these little details in the writing that makes bleach amazing to me
Keep in mind, Mayuri is Kubo’s favorite character in all of Bleach. He’s even cosplayed as him at one point in his life, so it’s no wonder why he gives him so many cool and badass moments in Bleach. He’s basically Orochimaru on steroids.

That means that Mimihagi and Pernida both would have aligned with the Shinigami's goals, which makes sense since both are originally portrayed to be allied with them. The new worlds also give Humanity, Shinigami, and Hollows the room to develop and grow without fear of becoming a singularity, which would align with Pernida's representation of advancement. It's implied with the TYBW anime additions that Yhwach brainwashed or otherwise converted Pernida to his side. Yhwach isn't abandoning status quo, he's returning it to its basemost form.

Mayuri is the only reason why the Soul Society didn’t get completely wiped out prior to Ichigo getting back from the palace. He may violate the Geneva convention on a daily basis, but he is the MVP of this arc.

Healed Kenpachi from the wounds he got from Pernida, so he could go help fight Gerald later on. 4. Before everyone went to the Soul palace, they were using HIS secret underground lab(The safest place in soul society where Quincies could not sneak out of the shadows attack) as the base of operations. 5.TWO EPISODES AGO, he used a spiritual energy amplifier in order to help generate the door to the Soul Palace. 6.Mayuri developed the chair to help keep Aizen's spiritual pressure in check. You compare Mayuri to the other captains he comes out on top. Also, "I read the manga more than any of you", 😆you're acting like your the ONLY one who read the manga. If you remember from previous parts, Ichibe used the left hand to stop Ywach. Pernida likely recognized Ywach the same way it would recognize it's owner, Reio, and somehow decided to serve him. Also, Mayuri used the grapple arm thing in the Soul Society Arc. But only once.

So back in S2 a anime only scene was added where Yhwach was meeting with Ichibei and Ichibei's left hand was the soul kings and he used it to seal away The Almighty but in the process Yhwach stole the left hand from Ichibei and manipulated it into thinking it's a Quincy Which in a way it technically is, so that's why Pernida is on the Quincies side
mayuri is easily top 3 characters when it comes to enjoyment. his lines , methods , fighting style and attitude towards pretty much anyone is the best. from the moment that he basically scolded yamamoto for not killing yuha 1000 years prior, i knew he was gonna play a big role in this arc.
captain kurotsuchi is one of the worst ppl to fight ever. He's so disgustingly efficient that he feels reliable tho. What crazy ass abilities + confidence in his work. Never seen anything like him

We know through the manga and novels that the Soul King has a stronger form of the Almighty than Yhwach does and was a willing participant in the creation of the three worlds alongside what would become the Shinigami. That means that Mimihagi and Pernida both would have aligned with the Shinigami's goals, which makes sense since both are originally portrayed to be allied with them. The new worlds also give Humanity, Shinigami, and Hollows the room to develop and grow without fear of becoming a singularity, which would align with Pernida's representation of advancement.
It's implied with the TYBW anime additions that Yhwach brainwashed or otherwise converted Pernida to his side. Yhwach isn't abandoning status quo, he's returning it to its basemost form.

Kubo’s favorite character (as he’s always being one step ahead even when it doesn’t seem like it on the surface in poetic fashion) and a callback to Ep 44 when we saw the reveal of the 1st Bankai, now reborn into variant version-
The Altered/Modified Bankai: Konjiki Ashisogi Jizō: Matai Fukuin Shōtai
(Golden Leg-Cutting: Demonic Womb Covering Seal Symptomatic Body/Demonic Recumbent Womb)
This takes the form of an enormous, heavyset, purple-skinned baby dressed in a golden loincloth and with golden fabric covering its pectorals. As for Pernida that’s revealed to be the Soul Kings left arm: It’s holy shrift is ‘C’ which stands for the ability ‘The Compulsory’
It can send his own nerves into the enemy's body and forcibly control their movements. Pernida's holy shrift was not a power given to him by Yhwach, but was chosen based on an ability that Pernida originally possessed.

Just also wanted to remind you all at the beginning of the Blood War Arc, Mayuri was tasked with killing people in the Rukon District to maintain the balance of souls between the living world, soul society, and hueco mundo. He killed scores of people. The man is a criminal, and the Soul Reapers and Quincies are terrible people.
He wasn’t tasked with it he just decided to do it to avoid the balance collapsing and Yamamoto would’ve given him the go ahead anyway

2.Mayuri cured 3 Captains(Hitsugaya,Rose, & Kensei) & and a Lieutenant(Rangiku) from Giselle Zombification powers.
3. Healed Kenpachi from the wounds he got from Pernida, so he could go help fight Gerald later on.
4. Before everyone went to the Soul palace, they were using HIS secret underground lab(The safest place in soul society where Quincies could not sneak out of the shadows attack) as the base of operations.
5.TWO EPISODES AGO, he used a spiritual energy amplifier in order to help generate the door to the Soul Palace.
6.Mayuri developed the chair to help keep Aizen's spiritual pressure in check.

Pernida likely recognized Ywach the same way it would recognize it's owner, Reio, and somehow decided to serve him.
