I stopped learning how to draw for almost 2 years 😢
And I stopped watching your videos
But I decided to get back on track wish me luck 😊
Thank you 🙏🏻 professor 👨🏫
i wish you luck
You got this!
I honestly think the quality of marcs videos two to three years ago were better.
How so?@@jaytopia2924
Good luck!!
50 minutes late for class, but never too late for getting better
Ah yes shading, the part I run away from my responsibilities and pretend I'm taking a break instead being scared lol
It’s true. I had to slow down a bit to ensure shadows and lights are placed in the proper locations. The quality improved immensely when I did. Marc’s videos have taught me a lot in a short time.
I haven't finished the video but this is what i need
update: I finished the video and it's exactly what I needed
Class is back in action
I agree with the seeing simple shapes it blew my mind when I figured it out. I learned it from a really nice art teacher from a community college and it was one of the greatest techniques I ever learned. I stopped focusing on those tiny details and focused on form and mass instead it seriously helped me learn anatomy.
marc, a genuine big fat thank you for your ever so dedication to the helping of artists, IT MEANS. SO. MUCH. i speak not only as an individual but for every single person you've inspired. i hope you never stop posting, which ofc is impossible, but rn, im comfy and happy knowing i have an art teacher like you to back me up fr
Shading and brush work is one of my main problems. Thanks for the new class !!
Yippieee shading video! Thanks marcc
Hi Marc, thanks for the video.
And congratulations for the 7 years of your project. :D
Needed this. Been struggling with shading and how to approach it with my art. This video was so encouraging and helped so much! Thank you Mark! 🙏🏻
Came back to see the intro couple of years ago. Still stuck here and i love it :)
Happy 7th anniversary Marc man the time surely move so fast
Been struggling with a commision im doing right now and this is perfect refresh!
The way I RUN to my phone when daddy Mark post a new vid
hey man... what?
The LMAO indeed
Don’t just don’t
Daddy Mark 😂😂😂
Lol 😂 but likee i can understand 👀
This is exactly what I was looking for. I’ve watched all your other shaking videos are really good. I have yet to figure out how to get it to look like you’re shaving style.
Seeing your drawings in your mind go from 2D to 3D is like unlocking your first tomoe sharingan ❤
This is really becoming one of my favorite channels, period. I recently got back into art after taking a break for a few months (I was never really that good to begin with) and I've been following your videos and art school programmes since I started after a friend recommended it. I'm not good by any means, but I'll get there, it takes time after all. Love your videos! They're entertaining and educational :3
Banger alert, gonna enjoy this one!!
Great advice! Thank you mark.
I WAS SEARCHING A VIDEO ON HOW TO SHADE PROPERLY AND THEN MARC RELEASE A VIDEO ABOUT SHADING, IT'S BEAUTIFUL THANK YOU MARC
Lets gooooooooo, I neeeded this!
I NEEDED THIS VIDEO THANK YOU MARC 😭🙏🙏
Présentement au travail donc je ne peux pas regarder, mais c'est clair que j'ai cliqué sur la notification direct et que j'ai mis un thumbs up - c'est toujours de la qualité et toujours super utile. Merci!!!
Thank you ❤
currently stuck on a drawing because the shading is kicking my ass. I'm gonna keep these in mind and start over from scratch because I'm honestly not happy with how its coming along
This is very useful art videos I learned a lot but I might buy the art class so I can improve my art skills.
HOW DO YOU ALWAYS KNOOOW? 😂 You always post a video that I need. THANKS! My art improved so much because of your videos and art school!
Thanks for the tips
I think you forgot to shade the shadows accurately, basically make it softer if the shadow is away from starting point.
That rendering is so good
Love this video. Awesome detail.
Thanks for your video like always !
You got even better nice
Please do how to color form grayscale to color. I dont know how to separate base colors by layers, particularly small details
thanks for the help as always master
How is it you ALWAYS CATCH ME when I have had the EXACT revelation of what you are teaching? I rediscovered this technique last week and BAM! Here you are. And as always, filling in a few blanks and adding more things I wasn't aware of. Thank you AGAIN MARC!!!!
The same happened to me when he first started making videos and I've seen thousands of comments saying he's always uploading what they need. The goat
sos un demente jajaj, detalla los detalles ♥
next class, diving right in
Please say " Oh! Hi.",I love it!!!
Remind me a lot of the AO maps and the depth buffer in video games, also marc, I learned shading and volumes in the same way, I am natively a 3D artist
Let's gooo!
OMG HE'S BACKKK
A week late to class, and I suddenly miss the video that I needed to see the most to progress my drawing skills smh.
My biggest trouble with shading right now comes from shading pieces or subjects with ambient lighting setups, the type you see on an overcast day where there is no direct light source and the light seems to come from everywhere, so the tonal changes are extremely subtle
Hello Marc, just had a quick question, any tips for drawing/painting in heavy shading styles while still maintaining clean linework?
I've never been happier to pay anything than I am paying the class fee.
bold power, will inherit the world!
I wonder if Mark will ever post 3D modeling tutorials on his yt since he was a pro 3D artist
Wake up babe new Marc Brunet post
Awesome vid mark, however on the note of using every value…I’ve heard tips to choose your value range as it changes according to the local color of what we’re painting
I always recommend splitting the process in different steps- shading first this way as to only focus on volumes, then colors where you can darken and brighten your original values now that they are correct relative to the rest. Kinda hard to explain quickly but this might do it ruclips.net/video/3OQeRLwipi4/видео.htmlsi=nlebBv-E4phjeXkq :)
@@YTartschool ok then…I’ll try this method because the others haven’t really been working for me😅
Thanks a lot for the video Marc! Though I've seen classes and different videos on the topic (several from you as well), these are always good reminders and have a few new tidbits to practice on. I do have a question if you come to read this.. how long does it usually take you to do a piece like this one? or some of the other videos? It's hard to appreciate the effort and time that goes into it when it's a quick timelapse of 10 minutes.
a little under 5 hours of recorded content! (did it over 3 days)
@@YTartschool Thank you so much for the quick reply! I love your work, and hope to someday get near to such a level (starting by doing the full art program of course!). Though I realize speed varies with bandwith, skill, practice and experience, it's still a good point of reference!
Lütfen türkçe altyazı ekle biz Türkler olarak sizin gibi iyi bir öğretmenin ne dediğini anlamak ve uygulamak istiyoruz ❤
Marc, did you do a video demo for your brush pack? how, when and why. So many brush packs out there and confusing. Thanks
The best art professor doesn't exis... omg.
babe wake up new marc brunet video is out
Arigato, Marc-sensei
it took only 15 sec for Marc to describe my attemp at 3d shading, i feels attacked
woah prime Mark is returning
Hey Mark, please make videos on metal and other material shading. i hate going elsewhere.
🤐
🔥
loveeeeeeeee
Yo what happened to your video on how to shade different materials? It was a really good one
Another beautiful lesson & illustration! Does anyone know how to check values on the iPad version of Photoshop? I’m a peasant without access to a proper mac / desktop :(
One question once you’re line work is complete should her flat layer be filled with a mid tone gray? Then, on the next layer start to shading?
Cool
I JUST saw the post lol
Sorry for my ignorance but I need some advice. I would like to work as a character artist/concept artist or in any case in that field for animated films or videogames. But is it necessary for me to know how to use 3D? Thanks in advance
Hey Marc can u pls make video on how to make splash art like riot games or leagues of legend
Pls pls pls pls pls 😢😢❤❤❤❤❤
I've only ever used traditional media, can digital shading methods be applied in the same or similar ways?
What brush is used for shading like this?
So what is this on, clip studio paint?
can i ask how do you keep 2 part overlap each other look separate with shading
7:37 nice hair highlight trick :3 :3 :3
Can someone please tell me what he does that turns his process black white and grey?
I'm Ready to Learnnn !!
how much time would you say you spend on shading for the overall piece? Is it most of the time spent? A small portion?
about 70% of most paintings
4:05 jaja no soy el único que siempre hace eso😂
Which android tablet can I use ? Galaxy tab ?
Early for Marc Brunet class?! REAL?!
When i try to get the brushes for clip studio it tells me "File format not supported" i don't know what to do :,(
5:47 how does one open that window?
Anyone know if the advanced brushes work in Procreate?
Can anyone help me with getting the free brushes for CSP? I tried downloading the .abr file, but it only imported one brush.
Crocs Certified
Is the subscription yearly or life time?
lifetime :) students also get all future updates and additions for free- thx for even considering it!
@@YTartschool thanks for dedicating some of your time to reply 🙏
Imaginary babe wake up peak dropped
But Why no intro🙁
Пожалуйста добавьте Русские субтитры к обучающему курсу. Или они у вас есть?
You're so handsome!
Honestly my main problem with shading is my brushes. Ive been practicing shading but the brushes always make it look off. Any help is appreciated.
A good smudge brush will always make things 10000% easier (the only one I use is part of the free brush pack I always mention!)
@@YTartschool i work on Ibispaint so i dont know what the equivalent to ur brush is on it 🥲

LOL
Thanksss
Nah my paintings suck because I am terrible with colourblindness but to me they look ok 😅
lets be honest, who doesn't struggle with shading
I will always be among the first here
I miss the wacky intros
over the last couple of weeks, I tried to learn shading with your older videos. My biggest problem is that I don't get the toning as smooth as you do. No matter what brush I use, how soft I apply the pen pressure or opacity senisivity, blur edges etc. It always looks BLEH! Dark parts get do dense, light parts look muddy. I never get those smooth gradients like you do. I wish you would have explained this aspect a little more in depth. I don't wanna complain, don't get me wrong. But in terms of information, I learned nothing new compared to the last video on the topic. :/
Use a good smudge brush to fix your messy brush strokes (like I do!), the one I use is part of my free brush pack ;)
hey i hope this will help you. i struggled so much with this in the past no matter how many fancy and advanced brushes i tried but it is all as simple as using only 3 tools while drawing - lasso, blend and a brush of your choice (i usually use the stock ones). you need to be relaxed while drawing and not to overthink the process too much, it all comes to you naturally after a while. lasso tool is a must when shading/coloring because to this day ive never seen any brush that can get this task done flawlessly and get you perfect sharp edges (you can also use it for highlights. they will look sharp and clean, not muddy). if they come too sharp for your area of shading or need a little bit of smoothing/ blending, the blend tool gets the task done just perfect. you won't get perfect blending, sharp edges and smooth gradients with only one brush. as they say " draw smarter not harder" . you can see marc using the lasso tool in the video also - 6:43 . also a short from him i found related to this : ruclips.net/user/shortsp0NYuaJz0nw?si=XO1yqqZgRS6lhb90
hope this helps
@@YTartschool I already got your brushes, their nice. Still need to learn git gut at shading. ^^
