Like you said, it has that old Final Fantasy feel, I could easily see Shinryu as the final boss of a 16-bit era game. Kinda reminded me of Neo Exdeath with the background, actually. And the music! It hits every note right to get across that feeling of finality and "Oh hey, you're fighting a dragon god that created a PROTO PLANET JUST TO FIGHT YOU". Like holy shit, Shinryu is infinitely more powerful than Bahamut ever was. I mean sure, Bahamut destroyed Eorzea and would have done the same to the whole world, but Shinryu? Shinryu has the power to create an entire planet, not to mention the complete control over ALL the elements. Bahamut can go succ a bicc dicc, Shinryu for life.
I'm JUST now starting to think that the main part of this song that's not the SB motif is actually based on the track "Parting Ways" that plays during cutscenes, same track that's the basis for the Swallow's Compass too.
I need this song in Dissidia NT along with the Royal Menagerie as a stage. It would be SO PERFECT. XIV only has one stage so far(Praetorium, when NT hit in the arcades it was still quite awhile back!), the Menagerie looks like a Dissidia stage, Shinryu is a big boss in Dissidia and this music would go sooo well in that game. (That and Stormblood's Boss Theme in dungeons, but since this mixes it in...) Hell, they could even make this crazy sky the Crisis Mode version of the stage. It fits so well! Def. one of my favorite themes. Stormblood knocked the music out of the park.

Shinryu has the power to create an entire planet, not to mention the complete control over ALL the elements.
Bahamut can go succ a bicc dicc, Shinryu for life.
The background should remind you of that. It's the same area from the fight in FFV.
Oh my, you're right!
Catherine J.G Probably because Shinryu is an FFV super boss lol. As is Omega.
Speaking of Exdeath.
Ayy
Come! Let us dispense with this distraction, you and I!
I have goosebumps the whole time but when it gets to 1:49 they start straight up ejecting the hairs out of my body
Didn't really care for the story of this expansion but the raids and fights were incredible. Music too *Chefs kiss*
Best boss in the game, best villain, best theme, I love it so much
i must have fought this trial about a thousand times by now and not least because of the soundtrack.
Best final bos! Best final boss theme!
That tail slap at 2:00 is perfectly timed with the music :D
I love this theme so much! Keep em coming SE
stormblood has the best ost by far
All the best bosses are giants hanging off the edge of awesome arenas: Chaos, Zeromus, Kefka, Seymour, and now Shinryu
Seymour is in XIV too?! o:
Fucking love this song. When it started in the fight it was so good for pumping you up.
Hoping Shinryu gets put in ff16 dlc along with Chaos
I'm JUST now starting to think that the main part of this song that's not the SB motif is actually based on the track "Parting Ways" that plays during cutscenes, same track that's the basis for the Swallow's Compass too.
1:47 the best part
Damn, all these epic soundtracks make we want to go back to FF14.
They're even more epic with context, go buy Stormblood!
the most epic boss battle i ever was part of! its PERFECT!
(That and Stormblood's Boss Theme in dungeons, but since this mixes it in...)
Hell, they could even make this crazy sky the Crisis Mode version of the stage. It fits so well!
Def. one of my favorite themes. Stormblood knocked the music out of the park.

*1 year later*
Wish half granted. No royal Menagerie tho
I was overjoyed that he was a tough fight. Its the final boss. It is as it should be.
One of the best extreme i've done so far
When i experienced this first i was like "oh an active time maneuver i wonder whats gonna happen.....oh... oh...holy shit its epic!"
1:59 STORM OF BLOOD
FORM OF LOVE
FOR THE SOMETHING ALL!
There's no stuff at all
Where the pizza falls
Sweating, it's so hot!
Raise your head and see
There's no stuff at all
Hear the pizza fall.
So when they finished the real ending of heavensward with 3.3 i was pretty satisfied, but i gotta say i don't know how they follow this fight up xD. That being said, these guys are pretty good at it so i'll just trust them :P.
Just did this one yesterday. It was a good run, with a good team ^^
And the music is just awesome ;D
Man I CAN NOT WAIT for the Savage version of this boss!
You know, i find it intensely ironic that shinryu borne of griffons hatred of the garleans and desire to free ala mihgo is manipulated by a Garlean prince for the purpose of hunting people he deems worthy down and in essense destroy the ala mihgan resistance. A really poetic way of saying that being a blind and mindless avenger makes you a tool to be used by many masters, even by your greatest foe.
This theme is so damn epic! Favorite so far.
Most epic fight I've done so far
Oh my god this was FOUR YEARS AGO??
My man, can you upload Garlemald's Hymn? That soundtrack makes my blood storm @@
3:21 when that guy gets yeeted 😂
Can confirm, it's even more of an adrenaline rush on extreme.
Doing homeschool-work never felt so epic like now xD
