AH, THE GOOD OLD DAYS, BACK IN THE DAY OLD SCHOOL KIDS, WE HAD IT GOOD, AND THERE WASN'T THE FOOLISHNESS WE HAVE TODAY. LIFE WAS SO SIMPLE AND STRAIGHT FORWARD.
I remember very vaguely watching this show as a child. I loved it. I was born in the Fall of '73 so, I was really little, but I do remember this show and have fond memories of it. Thank you for taking me down memory lane. 😘
The show was a Sunday night tradition. As a kid I loved this show as it didn't take itself too seriously. The Halloween episode had a great rendition of The Purple People Eater.
Some things in life tickle me on the inside. My hubby and I were watching a little girl from OKC doing ventriloquism, then talked about Barbershop Quartets and I thought of Bowzer. I loved him KKRRAAZZZYYY as a kid. This stuff cracks me up and I thank God for RUclips!!! Thanks for making my weekend.
linsqo piring, last year, Sha Na Na stopped touring, and Donny York told me on another RUclips video that he stays in touch with ALL of the surviving former members, and he sometimes misses touring, but he sings while walking around the house, and his wife loves it!
@@LisaKoffler OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had no idea they were still touring until a year ago. Now I'm kicking myself for not having seen them :(. Great comment though, and funny. Thanks for sharing.
I saw these guys live with my family. Man! Did they ever put on an awesome show. They could sing any 50s song and it sounded like the originals. The show was nearly thee hours and done smartly. To give the vocals a rest the band played some 50 instrumental song in the mean time.
Maybe IT IS time these artists and families and estates take a lesser % to get it on TV again and out on DVD. Overdue!! Time for all to give back for future generations.
It's not neccesarily greed on their part. I think they would be glad to do it for whatever they could get. It's probably all sorts of other factors that they have no control over. For example, a sketch like this could be considered offensive in today's PC/SJW culture (cannibal natives, airheaded women, gay stereotype, ect). Also, this is just not the type of humor that goes down today. Not enough F bombs and toilet jokes. And finally, 1950s nostalgia (which Sha Na Na was aimed at) is deader than disco at this point.
Never seen this before, i love to hear the Tokens sing this song its amazing but this is a totally different version and i think its brilliant as well, so funny. 😂😂😂😂😂.
This has the most views of all your SNN posts?? Must have been my hilarious Jerry Fox bit stitched in. (A great way for me to avoid the rigors of wearing those get-ups!) I keep hoping you'll get around to posting the skit from the Charo episode.
Growing up I loved watching you guys..Brilliantly funny. It's great to be able to relive my childhood by watching these hilarious clips. I did get to see you live back in the early 80s at the Club Casino Hampton Beach New Hampshire. I still have the booklet with all your pictures.
Oh my word!!! I still remember this on one of the many shows.. It was hilarious to see this crazy crowd while they intertain us. Wonder what happened to them all... The were very popular and loved here in South Africa...........
I remember this song in one skit. When I was at camp they did a skit with this song where they used toilet stalls and everyone was just cracking up!!! Such great memories!!!
this is the only version of this song that i can listen to without breaking down in tears, was one of my dea mums faves ty for posting xxx ps. it helps that Johnnys so sexy too xxx
Johnny was fabulous with this song. The whole skit is funny. We could use some crazy comedy like this today. All we have are weird reality shows. This was lighthearted comedy at it's best. You could watch this with your kids and not worry about something blue being said. I really miss the show. Am grateful for these clips.
So am I! I had a MASSIVE crush on Johnny myself! I sent him an email and he answered: "Thanks, Doll. Stay safe." My face turned bright red, and I nearly fell over, because I wasn't expecting a response like that!
@@LisaKoffler I asked him what it felt like to be famous. He replied : We all put our pants on the same way..one leg at a time. Now that's humility and truth. He didn't let fame change him. He's very down to earth and remembers from whence he came.

Sha Na Na was like a city version of Hee Haw.
Haven't seen these goofballs in decades &

Still making me lol in 2022 😁👍
GooglFascists They Still Make Me Laugh

Remember watching this on tv..one of my favorite shows..
Shanana and The monkeys.
Don't you mean "The Monkees?" Davy Jones and Peter Tork passed away.
When me and my sister were younger we would be always watching this with my dad 😂 I loved it so much and I still do.

Always loved this show. Lenny on sax was perfect
Me, too! It's so sad that he died.
Awesome sketch! Bowzer's facial expression at the beginning is priceless.
When are Bowzer's facial expressions ever not priceless lol. Such a character.
The black and white sneakers are the best touch.
Omg i miss these guys. Love them... always watched them.
Sha Na Na always were and always will be the greatest.
Ya got that right, they were the outrageous band
I remember very vaguely watching this show as a child. I loved it. I was born in the Fall of '73 so, I was really little, but I do remember this show and have fond memories of it. Thank you for taking me down memory lane. 😘
I was born in 1967, and Sha Na Na came on the air after my 10th birthday! I still love them now as much as I did back then!
The show was a Sunday night tradition. As a kid I loved this show as it didn't take itself too seriously. The Halloween episode had a great rendition of The Purple People Eater.
I'll have to look for that, it's such a fun song that all kids should be introduced to.
Perhaps they will show up later and be the cannibal's dinner guest.
This is the funniest part of the show, especially the way Bowser had made an appearance.

Only Contardo could get away with singing that song. He did a real good job. :-)
Johnny is one of the best singers in the business!
I grew up loving Sha Na Na!
My parakeet was in love with Bowser. Repeated everything Bowser did. Awesomeness.
My dog used to watch TV with the family, but I don't know which one she fell in love with!
Classic good time music! Thank you for posting. LMAO!!!
Always remember the shows, thanks for giving me them again ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😮😮😮😮😊😊😊
This beats reality tv all day!!!!!!!!!

Oh,Johnny,your falsetto is SO glorious!
Johnny, those were the highest notes I've ever heard you sing!
I loved that show! Grew up watching it. ❤️
Did you ever get an itchy hiney during a show?
An itchy hiney? No, I don't think so! Most people just laughed their heads off, like I did!
This show was great 👍
ABSOLUTELY AND ABOVE ALL ELSE, THE BEST SHOW EVER!!!!
They are the happiest people who make us the happiest. :))
Johnny's voice!
He's dreamy!
This was a really fun and funny show when it was on and still is today 😄
Bowser, love THIS
i used to shift my schedule around the weekly sha na na tv show. i;d be glued to the tv.
They had such BEAUTIFUL voices. So sad that so many have passed away.
4 of them from the TV show passed away - Chico, Danny, Denny, and Lennie.

Wow! I like how they used the shields to make a backdrop for the sax player! Right on!
I whole heartedly agree. I'd love to see all these professionally done .
Only these guys could get away with this ! --------------Awesome.-------------------------WolfSky9
I loved this version, so funny and good to sing to!
This has to be one of their cornier skits. But always love Sha na na .
Jackpot for Santini!
I've never ever heard of this group, I was only about 10, but at 58 I've just seen them now and they are brilliant, so funny. 🤣😂🤣😂🤣.

I have fond memories-my mom took me at age 10-my first concert ever--No other concert has been as much--Bowser was the best
HAhaha Awesome, thanks for the fun memories.
I love watching this TV show sha NA NA NA.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
This must be 30 years ago or more? And still a bit insane. Loved it - and the way they work together - 'team players' we'd call them now.
awesome voice Johnny
Johnny always had the best singing voice in the group!
I love these guys. What good sports they are.
My great uncle was a writer for Sha Na Na. He was a good man.
I have always liked this song but now I LOVE it even more ♥ I shall always think of these boys when I hear it from now on LOL ♥

Still a better skit in comparison to anything modern SNL puts out today.
Good childhood memories...

Your sense of humor isn't "warped!" I'm from Generation X myself, and slapstick comedy was my favorite form of entertainment, and it still is today!

they were sure funny.
lol love it
Wow. So many years ago and never heard of them until 4 mins ago
first time i heard RUNAWAY FELL IN LOVE WITH THE SONG,I WISH TO LISTEN EVERY TIME RIP DEL SHANNON MARITZA PAGAN
This was the very first time I saw them 😊
Sha Na Na = the original (and personally funnier) SNL ;)

Bathroom toilet stalls? Did they use toilet paper in the skit?
I feel old just knowing who these guys are but I still love em
They're in their 70s now! "Screamin'" Scott, Donny, and Jocko are the only original members left in the group! Just visit their website!
