Lots of you requested this video and I finally got round to filming it:) So this is a little insight into how I use Pinterest. The different methods I follow that bring up best outfit ideas and how I look at that imagery and interpret the looks from my own closet.
But I don't just use the app for fashion so I wanted to show you how to use pinterest for business, for bloggers and designers or just maybe for Interior inspiration and where to travel to next? Once we're all allowed out again!
I find it hugely helpful when it comes to creating outfits. I don't feel the need to buy everything I see, it simply makes me take a look at the items I already have in another way. New ways to style old pieces, which just makes me fall in love with them all over again!
Hopefully you find this video and my pinterest tips helpful and I'd love to know which method you find easiest to use?

A little about Fashion and Style Edit
I launched fashion and style edit just over a year ago and it's been one amazing adventure ever since. I hoped to put all my years working in the fashion industry to good use. How to style outfits and advice and fashion tips on how to get the most out of your own wardrobe. I love discovering new brands, designers and high street fashion, but I always veer towards the more sustainable fashion and ethical brands. I try to buy well, I want my and your clothes to last as long as possible.
I love effortless, timeless style and share how I create that along the way. And yes I'm one of only a few fashion bloggers on youtube who's offering fashion over 40, but I'm hopefully proving that looking chic doesn't care what number your birthday card reads, it's how you style it that counts x

I use it as a reference for house ideas and even planning where I want to travel to next. When we're finally allowed to travel of course! I have a board called Already Have which I find invaluable as a way of re-imagining outfits with items I have in my wardrobe but styled in ways I hadn't previously thought of. Great inspiration, thks Jess x

I often use Pinterest for this very thing (in addition to art things) but I’ve never actually used it to inform my actual current wardrobe. I’ll definitely give that a go
It’s such a helpful outfit builder, you don’t even need to have what the image is wearing just an alternative version of it 😊

Hi Jess that was really useful .I was aware of Pinterest but had never investigated what was available. Now I've signed up and had a look I can see that it's really useful , not just for fashion but also for home decorating, which is something I'm getting into at the moment being stuck indoors all the time. Love Caroline de Maigret too, I don't have her long limbs but at this rate I will have her long hair as it's now almost 4 months since I had a trim!

I've used it for fashion ideas like "Moto boots" or "denim jacket" but I'm afraid I don't know many celebs to look-up. I do like Jennifer Aniston's style but that's about it. I never realized or thought of using it for hotels and vacation ideas. Always love YOUR style - have a super day!
Hi lovely, aah it's so good for things like that because you'll often get different imagery to the hotels. So more of an insight really into what it truly looks like. If you like Jennifer Anniston style you could type her in and I'm sure you'd get lots of inspiration or even 'Californian style' or 'Laidback Californian style' which I think is how I'd sum up her look. Searching that way will probably give you so many more outfit ideas and often leads me down a whole other outfit path I hadn't even thought of!! Have a great week lovely x
I loved this. I do all of three ways. I have a board called personal style and then sub boards with different items I have in my wardrobe. When I have pinned stuff in them, I usually go on the “more ideas” section that gives me even more inspiration. Love your videos ❤️❤️❤️
Fantastic you're already on it Paula, it can be really inspiring can't it:) And lethal sometimes too!! I can spend hours on there, originally planning to look at coats and end up gazing at beautiful hotels! the joys of Pinterest:) x
Fashion + Style Edit hahahaha yess!!! Or recipes! But I have been there for a few years so I have gathered quite a lot of inspiration to create my outfits. I think I may have around 60 sub boards from OTK boots to green skirt and so on 😂😂😂❤️ love your videos!

Love this ! I can add this search ...colour combinations if you're unsure about putting colours together for example purple sweater with brown accessories just to see if you can make up an outfit .

Pinterest is an amazing app
I used it for years now and I love it.
Both for fashion, decorating, painting, cooking, yoga, sport, travels, tips, DIY, crochet, tidying, beauty....
A lot of things.
In fashion, I used it your way and thrifted a lot of outfit depending on what I got in my wardrobe...ended up with a lot of outfits
Now, I am following you since confinement and think of rethinking all my wardrobe to a classic bohemian chic style with few pieces as handbags 👜 and coats:
( I never used a coat as a master piece in a look but only as a protective barrier...I was in Canada at that time...
Now that I am in South of France, by the beach, I left all my coats in Canada...and I am thinking of 1 coat that can be usefully me regarding the region where I am now
Dresses and jeans and bohemian classic are my target now
Not too much classic and luxurious as I am in a quit not big city as you

Hi Jess, another great video. I love using Pinterest for any inspiration from food to home styling, and hairstyles to fashion. It’s a great way to identify your style because you start seeing a theme. I think it’s a great idea to break fashion finds down into categories - I’ll start doing that. 💗

I really enjoyed your video and you’ve given me more ideas on how to use this tool😊I’ve been using Pinterest for some time though mainly for recipes. I started using it for fashion about a year ago after watching a video from Audrey Coyle - she’s a wonderful RUclips creator who focuses on creating a capsule wardrobe. She also uses Pinterest for ideas and creates mood boards. I’m in the process of rediscovering my style and creating a wardrobe after starting a weight loss journey. The pleasure that I used to have with fashion is returning and I’m excited to explore all the possibilities ❤️

Fun to watch this. I was glad that I had come upon these same ways to use Pinterest in my own, organic way. I probably use it every other day to help me put outfits together, though because of your channel, perhaps a little less! 😀

Hi Jess! I too like Pinterest, for ideas. I can get lost in it. I have boards with many of my favorite stylish ladies that I admire and I really enjoy curating it, sounds silly doesn’t it? I used to keep tear sheets of my favorite magazine looks in binders. I started doing it as a kid. Then I needed to downsize and Pinterest came on the scene. I was so thankful. I guess I have always been interested in fashion. Ha! I love the white peasant top you are wearing and the dress from Sezanne. Both look wonderful on you, so feminine and pretty. That doesn't sound silly at all Kristin!! I used to do that too with magazines! Though I had an annoying habit of actually cutting round the model rather than just tearing out the page:/ It took me forever and I'd end up with all these very skinny paper arms flying everywhere! haha, not sure what I was going to do with them all? I’ve been on Pinterest for some years now , I love your choices very similar to my own , I’m pale and find what makes some of these looks ie the biker jacket pin look so good is a subtle tan with the layering of the necklaces so I apply a subtle tan tan luxe with my moisturiser or even dove tan is good I don’t like ripped jeans if my legs are white underneath everything looks better with a subtle tan . Sarah Harris from vogue is one of my style icons together with Anja Rubik and Gisele bunchen excellent vlog though I thoroughly enjoyed it

I have a board called "in my wardrobe" as I buy stuff I find it online (or take a photo of the actual item) and pin it. I then search for looks (as you do) using that item and pin them on my fashion board.
Periodically I'll look through the wardrobe board and refresh myself on what I've actually got and how I can use it. It also stops you buying something you've already got and forgotten about.
Tip- I've done the same "in my name up bag" and it was brilliant when I lost a lipstick and was able to repurchase as I knew exactly what brand/formulation/shade it was.
Should say "in my make up bag"

My roadblock seems to be experimenting with what I have. Perhaps it’s taking the time to lay things out on the bed or maybe it’s the fact that I don’t have a little rail like yours. I’ve taken the time to think about color, fabrics, and holes in my capsule wardrobe. But now I need to play with it. Perhaps a new rail is in order.
Hi, are you talking about the mobile app, or desktop version? Pinterest is so challenging for me 😂 But I do love it...Instead, I type for example leather jacket outfit on google and click images. But I do need a tutorial to make the most of Pinterest, for sure. Thanx for the vid though 💕
Both really, though I tend to use the desktop version more 😊 Do you have an account on there? I find that’s the easiest way to collate everything together and have that mood board to look back on. I can spend hours on there drooling over designs!! Have a great week lovely and thanks again x
