Now thats the electric bike. Great looking machine but more importantly such low price. Features you described are real good one - hydraulic, altus derailleur, hybrid 27.5" tyres, 615WH battery. LOVING IT so far!
Once again amazing review mate, very nicely laid out x The bike does look like a killer with those specs packed into it at just £999. I bet they would be out of stock in no time... am a rider myself and i can tell that that this once is better than the other bikes i have tested before
Hey Paul - thank you!! Hope you have a great time with your new bikes! I don't have any specific recommended locks, so I would suggest just have a browse on Amazon and see what looks good, especially based on the reviews.
Ive seen that as you turn the bike on you hold left brake and keep hold of on button for 8 seconds to put it in unrestricted mode. There is a video on youtube how to do it by gin x themselves.
Yeah unfortunately if there is 0% battery left, you wouldn't be able to use Walk Assist. I actually got the Bike delivered from GinX full assembled, so couldn't do an unboxing - sorry!
Great looking bike and great review. Just wondering how the battery stands up to any mud or water ingress at the bottom where it slides into frame. The switch looks a bit exposed to mud and water being thrown up. Someone has suggested it needs a plastic cover. My guess is a rubber glove might work...may need a cable tie to hold it in position and perhaps a spray of WD40. Have you found water and mud gets onto the bottom of the battery pack?
Good question. I actually haven't had this problem. I've ridden it through puddles but to be honest, I don't go off road much with it to really put it through the mud tests. For general non-heavy non-offroad usage, you should be good.
@@TrendingReviews Thankyou for your response. Sounds as though with general use it's not a problem. Guess with long term use in wet and muddy conditions it may need a rubber protection cover over the bottom of the battery case. Thanks again for your review. Do you hope to do another long term review?
Yeah I think if theres a rubber guard you can buy for it to protect it, then it should be better for taking it off road, although I don't see any suitable ones being sold. If you message them, they might be able to provide recommendations? They have pretty good support. I wasn't planning on doing a long term review of any of my bikes to be honest - but happy to share experiences via IG messages.
@@TrendingReviews Thankyou. I have contacted Gin X and they say it should not be a problem so don't think they supply a cover. I think for general use on road and off road cycleways it should be ok but if used in muddy wet conditions it may need something to cover the bottom of battery. I've had a look online but nothing comes up. The only thing may work is a latex glove and a cable tie or elastic band to hold it on! It's not a design fault but may need a purpose made rubber cover in the future.
@@rickorider I know this might sound like a strange idea, but what about if you wrapped the battery part of the bike frame with strong clear cling film? Theres plenty on Amazon, and then it would make you feel more comfortable taking it offroad. What do you reckon?
I think the best thing would be to contact their support team and see if thats something it is capable to do? From my opinion, I think it should be fine, the rear rack has enough space, but it also depends how big/small the baby seat will be.
I'm a total novice looking for an affordable ebike, the thing that puts me off this ebike is the battery, what happens if they stop being manufactured, I'm guessing you couldn't buy a suitable battery anywhere else other than the manufacturer?
Yeah its a valid point - I'm not too sure about this specific e-bikes battery availability, but I guess the same could be said for most e-bikes on the market? I'm sure there would be bike battery specialist websites that would be able to find one that will fit - usually they get these batteries from specific suppliers.
so looked at accessory's and no option to buy brake pads or an additional battery thats the down side with this bike, and ive not seen a review on the range.
Have contacted the company and they do offer an additional battery pack....about £340. Not sure about replacement brake pads...guess as it's a Zoom brand you could track them down on Internet. If you contact them they will send a link to their website with the additional battery or type in battery on search and it will come up. For some reason it's not listed in accessories.
Damn I almost just bought one after watching this then I read all the 1 star reviews on trust pilot of all the unhappy people waiting months for this bike. Such a shame! I don't think I want to take the risk if thats the case.

Thank you! It's definitely a great ride!
superb review, just ordered 2 , can you recommend a lock that would be best suited? new sub added cheers Paul

Pablo,congrats on your purchase.
Can you give us some feedback on the bike? (what are the battery dimensions and weight)
Thanks for review, are the handle bars height adjustable?
I dont think they are height adjustable - but you could contact their customer support to find out if they have any options for that?
@@TrendingReviews thanks 😊
How did you get it unlocked, or them have it unlocked?
They provided it unlocked for the review
Good review. You mentioned the bike being in unrestricted mode. Was that done via a programmable setting or something else?
Thank you - it was done my the manufacturer, so I presume it was done by adjusting the sensors/magnets.

If you are out of battery then how will the walk assist help? Nice video though an unboxing would have been nice.

There is an unboxing by Gin x company on you tube.
Very impressive

Could you use a baby seat in the back ? I am not sure due to the shape of the frame behind the seat.

They need to bring back the splitit payment option.

Is this illegal in the UK ?
its legal, but if you "unlock" your throttle max speed that'll be illegal.

i spent 15 weeks (they promised 3-4) listening to their BS of "it's almost there" and gave up and asked for a refund.
What's the total weight of the bike?
19kg
First complete view
What's the point in getting a bike that goes that fast when the law is 15.5mph
Good bike, but it is only 12ah, so It won't last long.
