The biggest influence on range is battery temperature and how strong the headwind is. It's what I found out commuting 2x16 km. Uphill you can go a little slower in lower gear to save some range. But other two factors it is up to the weather Gods.
Welcome back team, and happy 2024. We missed your antics (well, I did). I would have loved to see the price of the bike being shown in the mix, to demonstrate whether buying a more expensive bike with an (obviously) bigger and more expensive battery was justified. You might say “we don’t want to do that, we’ll hurt our premium bike sales”.
I'm guessing they all have slightly different battery sizes so what do these results actually demonstrate? Would have been helpful to have the miles per battery amp hour to level up the comparison
They want a more accurate measure, put it on a static trainer and have them give the same assistance. Say an extra 300watts of power. Then you can get a better measure of the battery and drive system efficiency. Them being in max boost (varies how much each bike gives), cycled by different people, cycled different route etc. Not a good test
Electrifying video , I wonder in future if the bikes would come with cost of charging because as you will know depending on the battery set up they all have a resistance to charging = some have less some have more = some are more economical to charge, no difference really when buying any white goods they would have a rating = be it A or B etc. just a thought, we might as well have a joke for those who like a bit of humour= saw a bold man with a tattoo of a rabbit on his head = so asked why = he said because from a distance it looks like a hare.

i would have probably picked mid drive for this and just pedaled so faster than the motor can assist so then i can probably get like 30miles more range :D
My vanpowers loses power with 3 bars of battery left, and even though everything is tightened to torque spec it makes some awful cracking and clicking noises when pedalling, really annoying.
Brilliant video! I would love to see it where they use it the way the manufacturer recommends to get the range and see if the claimed range is possible,
How about comparing the ranges of folding electric bikes?!! I have an Axon Rides folding electric bike that lives in the boot of my car and is used for trips when I go to Brighton.
I’ve pined for the estali for ages, but it’s clearly just a to work and back bike. The tiny range and inability to charge the battery separately from the bike is a huge minus. It looks like I’ll be getting the ugly duckling ampere, I hate the McDonald’s delivery rider look but needs must.
All about the stats despite it being deeply unscientific maybe you could rate them as £ per mile of range or as a% of clsimed range as i really dud not get much out of the stats.

temperature is not discussed enough, went out on my radrunner in sub zero, normally does 40-50 miles I was done in 15.

Miles per wh would have been even more helpful

@@oplkfdhgkor miles per kilowatt hour or watt hours per mile.
Nice Map

Would have put them into the London to Brighton.
My favourite bit about this video was the couple laughing during Richard's ride. 😊
That Temple Classic is quite stunning.
*Quality video* 👌🏼
⚡⚡⚡
The Vanpower though 🤩
I think it proves something interesting. Any one of those would do my daily commute easily.
Strictly speaking Eilis, 'm' is the abbreviation for meter; the abbreviation for mile is 'mi'. Sorry to sound like such a pedant.

Your range will take a hit in stop-n-go traffic unless you have regenerative braking.
i did 105 miles on a engwe l20 on full power
Umm…why are you guys using our (superior) system instead of your metric system for determining range?
This test is pretty useless when you guys drive different routes...
I take it you didn’t watch the video?
Test procedure complete nonsense. Different rider weights, difference courses, different times. 😂
EP-2 Pro, sorry, it's just a classic brute of a eBike
kenvitatoe RUclips E bike 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊

That doesn't sound good.. Have you hit up Vanpowers?

Appreciate the conversion of miles into kilometres 🔥

Great to see some of the other members of the team
Wait, I thought all of you were going to go on the same ride together and see who goes furthest. Please try that test.
Ellis I see your new look, hairstyle 👍
Good presentation on bike ranges for various model
Was rider weight variances considered on achieved results?

Do the same on folding only, which is even more relevant, please! Pretty please!
You can't get the WAU bike anymore they seem to have folded......
Hello electroheads I have a electric fat bike do you have a positive opinion on slime
Hey! Slime is okay. But I'd say you're better off spending money on a good tyre - something like fat tyre Kevlar lining is great for more of a barrier
Uttertly useless without motor power and battery capacity
Should have taken the price of the bike v miles = value for money. …ᘛ⁐̤ᕐᐷ
