Great to see you so happily enjoying yourself, Eilis, you put such a lot into these videos, and it is good to see such a positive review of a bike. Good on the Sicilians for putting out a really lightweight machine. So useful for so many different users. Looking forward to the next.
For those who would like to know the basic specs: 36V systems, 250 W motors. Rear hub motor powered. Battery is about 7 AH. These are nice performance bicycles with a modest motor assist. The sort of e-bike that an Italian would make. This is NOT intended as criticism, quite the contrary. Different people want different things from an e-bike. These bikes have something unique to offer and are just what some riders have been waiting for. This is what I would have liked to ride 10 or 15 years ago. Now I need something different. But I wish the company every success.
Great to see e-bikes getting lighter and batteries going smaller and lighter, this will encourage uptake of e-bikes more. Let's hope Mt Etna doesn't erupt and decimate the whole area and NOKO survives to continue building and refining their products.
Smaller batteries inevitably means less range though. Fine if you use your bike on a firm commute, but I'd want something I could confidently ride further on at the weekend when shelling out good money on one. My current ebike weighs in at a fair lick, but I have a 20ah battery and no range anxiety.
Sicily looks good under all angles, the people are fantastic, kind and friendly, the food is superb ... ok, driving is a challenge, and there are a couple of things in the video that only someone who's been there notices as "special": the first is parking: they park their cars like they used to park their donkeys ("somari" which literally translates to "animals for transporting goods"). The second is ... unfinished houses, quite visible in the drone shot a the beginning: one of my first nights in Sicily was in Biancavilla, and the whole "new" village looked like that ... apparently there's a fiscal reason. Another thing is the ribbon-cutting ceremonies ... Italians love these. The mayor of the town I was born in got turned into a meme because he was cutting ribbons for almost everything, like roadworks being finished or a public toilet being prepared (lol). On the road tests themselves, at the beginning it looks like Eilis and Richard are leaving in opposite directions ... is that why it looks like Richard is always pedalling uphill and Eilis coasting downhill? 😂😂😂😂😂😂 I look forward to video number 2 with Mount Etna!
Great looking bikes and I love the weight or lack thereof and the quoted milage. You mention a carbon belt drive system at 10:39 but you are showing a chain and sprocket... wrong clip?
You know I rather enjoy these videos where you go on an adventure in another locale. They are quite interesting in unique sort of way, they show the difference in riding skills required in different places. It occurs to me a global bike riding app could be a nice idea that keeps bikers safe, lawful and with local traffic etiquette. It would be cool if it had friendly map, complete with routes, bike shops, ... Perhaps an app that uses bikers as the input method for the data to keep it fresh and "bike appropriate". The tour of NOKO was interesting, so "Italian" style-y! Bikes look cool as well, and really like that helmet idea. Docking points for go pro or bike computer cam would be a nice add on;
LOVED this video! Loved the video of the hotel, the food, the presentation, and the riding on the cool Sicilian streets! Please do more videos like this.
Congradualtions. No phone was dropped and run over in the making of this video. : P I really hope you have a torquey bike for Mt Etna. Now that you guys are outside of UK restrictions, why are you guys not trying E-bikes (and E-scooters) that allows your Freak to Fly? lol
I really enjoyed this video about NOKO ebikes. Two quick questions 1. What is the maximum tire width that can fit on the NokoLight? 2. Will Electroheads be selling Noko bikes? Thank you!
Electroheads, could you please review the new Brompton G line (electric version). I had a ride test of the new Brompton G Line (20 inch wheels and hydraulic disc brakes) and I was supremely impressed. It's the best, most professional Brompton bike to date and the Brompton G line has to be the Holy Grail of folding bikes.
Noko says the Forza motor from FSA has the torque sensor built into the motor. Is that the standard way e-bikes with torque sensors are going these days, or is that relatively new development? Years ago, torque sensing was either in the bottom bracket, or with a trick gizmo that mounted between the frame dropouts and the rear axle.
Isn't almost all of it from China and Taiwan and where you visited was an assembly plant. I don't think they manufacture the frame and forks and the electric motor system is by Full Speed Ahead which are Taiwanese I think (not checked but definitely not Italian) and the rest of it is your standard components sourced from Asia. It looks like a Asian bike assembled in Italy to me. I don't have a problem with that but they seem to be pushing the Italian side a bit too much. Don't get me wrong they may paint the frame and forks themselves with their own artwork and of course its their recipe of a good bike based on the components they have chosen plus they would decide on the geometry of the frame but ultimately is more Chinese/Taiwanese than Italian really so don't see how they are taking on the Chinese they are more repackaging a Chinese product. No shame though Europe is full of assembly plants that mainly assembly Chinese parts into final bikes.
Your vids are getting more enjoyable! For my self I'm an euc rider, wish you two could test them, unfortunately all there is are the hideous N.America types who do an appalling job of frank reviews.
Don’t really like these “sponsored/paid for” trips as your normally balanced unbiased opinions go right out of the window,no matter what you may think. The fact that there were a couple of “these are the best e-bikes I’ve ever ridden” from your co-host adds to that impression. Too “sweary” also. No need for “bleeping” it out then. Wish the company well as I know the bike market is suffering after the boom years of the pandemic. Will be very difficult though. This whole factory was probably planned during the pandemic and now opened when the market is not as rosy.
Saw the price and a picture which looked like battery isn't easy to take with you (making this useless in a city), almost stopped watching but then noticed that there are several bikes. Seen too many of these things priced like a lot more complicated motorcycle and nokoforza seems to be just what i feared it would be (pricey and useless). Light version seems better but is quite expensive even with a ridiculously small battery, and even worse if you don't live under eternal sunshine and have to get fenders. Also a slightly bigger (+120Wh) battery adds 200€.
Chinese bikes are nowhere near European or America bikes, the quality is very poor in comparison to western bikes, I bought a Chinese ebike, and at only 2 months old, the pedal came off, and the fault was, a worn crank? Something that should happen on a very old abused bike.
Guys, I don't know how you can feel safe and grip the handlebars that way! Only the index finger shall be on the brakes, every other finger shall stay on the handlebars. How you're driving is pretty dangerous! And how can you test the effectiveness of brakes if you brake with 3/4 fingers?! Brakes shall be tested with the index finger only! That's a proper test! Hope the best for you and for the channel!
Is this the brexit tunnel vision syndrome or something like that? I don't think UK is a EU country, they turned inwards years ago. You do know there are people in EU, so maybe this is pointless for some people living in a secluded island of GB, not for others. Also you would need to buy quite expensive fenders for these, UK isn't a place where sun shines 365 days a year :)
Typical British mindset that led us to Brexit. Most of our viewers are in Europe. Remember - there is a whole world out there! You should go and see it.
I wouldn't say they are terrible, I would say decent mid level quality. They are not Italian though despite a major office in Italy (for perceived legitimacy in the market same as Merida with their German design centre). Both companies are taiwanese with some lower end production in mainland China. Often for example you would get a cheap road bike with Claris groupset but the Claris crankset is replaced with FSA. Yes the Claris crankset is a bit better but its not a night and day difference. An FSA ebike drive system could be ok but not Italian. I actually think Taiwanese engineering is better than Italian so that isn't a bad thing.

Pleasantly surprised that at least one model isn't absurdly priced. And that helmet, that was awesome!

Omg, an excellent first look of an excellent set of bikes by excellent presenters. I want to be riding like them in Sicily.
Great to see you got a chance to chat with fellow e-bike reviewer from "Two Wheels Good".

Good distance range 👍
What a fun trip. Hope you guys had fun.

8:15 that design is GENUIS!
It's also genius.
Wish they success! Would be great for Sicily to have a boost to its economy as alot of people have moved away due to lack of jobs etc.
This trip looks SO wonderful!
I like that compact helmet.

I've already bought my bike and stuff months ago. I'm here only for watching Eilis
yea, she is really sexy 😜
Beautiful video,
I do miss more info on the specs, motor? Battery size? Sensor type? Battery easily removed?

Another good video. Do they do a low frame bike for people short legs.
The predicted ranges seem rather optimistic considering the battery capacities.

Is this true Electroheads?
Will you review Fiido C21 at some point? Quite an interesting bike!
Great shout! Will reach out to them and see if we can sort something out ☺️
@@Electroheads Awesome, thanks! Curious about your feedback :)
Carbon belt drive system - are you sure?
Yeh, both bikes at the end clearly have chains, cassettes and derailleurs.
They do offer belt options. Surprisingly, it's not Gates.
What brand is her biking jacket 🧥?
Lovely….want 😂
Please check out the Brompton G Line electric
I wonder if they have a folder in the pipeline ?🔥
At 8:55, the camera really starts struggling with some weird distortions? I've never seen anything like that before.
It's just the fisheye lens on the Insta360
Let's hope they won't turn into the Italian Vanmoof!
it's a D 8 ~
🤙🏽⚡️🤟🏽⚡️👌🏽
3:47 The person you are talking to, isn't she the one from TWO WHEELS GOOD Mobility channel?
Yep! Dorothee

Hmm, an assembly plant of chinese parts.🤷🤷🤷
How have you gotten that impression when they are producing their own parts in-house?
Always cute
