@@MurseTech64 Looks much better than the pig-looking R1S and the overdone Escalade iQ. The EV9 maybe has something going for it... but they ruined the front end and the wheel design. The Gwagon has a whole different level of a cult following as well as *huge* desirability. Dealers will check your background/social media to ensure you're not trying to resell. People are on waiting lists for Gwagons. My client actually bought a used one, to bump him on the list. Sold back the used one, made a profit and received the new one. Such an odd thing.
Based on the fact that it's still ICE, Lexus, AND truck-like? Yeah, it'll sell like hotcakes. Will most definitely keep its value as well. Hell I don't like SUVs and even I want one of these.
This is such a good looking (for lack of a better description) SUV. I want one. Usually like white, but it will have to be grey or something darker to be able to see the lines of this masterpiece. Yes, masterpiece is the word I was looking for to describe the looks of this car.
My mother is in need of a new family hauler.. trying to get her into a used BMW X7 or this. I’m VERY pleasantly surprised on how awesome this looks. Sorta looks like an FJ Cruiser!
I'm not sure about that wheel setup. Love the Toyo's and just got the Open Country AT's for my Cherokee but the width seems too narrow for the size and lines of that vehicle! Maybe the video isn't doing it justice?
Was wondering if there’s the possibility of there being a sport trim in the future? My guess would be no since it’s more of a off-road vehicle but I’m still asking
Toyota is going to have the best year in their history in 2024 i predict. Just one great product after the next. They went with hybrids and after being ridiculed for the last 2 years for lagging, they are going to laugh all the way to the bank, because their hybrids give you range and often a nice big bump in MPG. A gas car above 40 MPG is about the same cost to run as an EV when you factor in insurance, and the higher repair costs in an EV, due to no parts or service available from 3rd parties. EV's are expensive to insure, and just wait for the per mile EV tax which will be thousands a year. Gov't is planning this with that sneaky law that just passed requiring monitoring in 2026 and later; Rep. Massie tried to repeal that amendment but he failed to get enough votes.
I really agree, things are heating up for them. The NX has had it's best month since it's release and as a proud owner I'm not surprised. I love my NX 350 F Sport, but this thing is looking bomb 💣💥💥 🔥🔥 🥵🥵
It sure would be nice if they actually came out with a NEW car for Lexus. Not just another suv. Their RWD based products are years behind the competition. Laughably so in some cases.
I'm really trying to like this thing because I need a new ride, but the black shiny plastic at the base of the windshield is laughable. It's bad enough inside but on the outside of a car? And one that's supposed to be rugged? What are they thinking?
@RaitisRides Gotcha 😅. Well this project car sounds pretty in depth and very involved. Sounds to me like your building one from scratch! (And I'll come back next week to totally get ahead of the sale 😉)
Lexus has been on a marketing campaign for this new GX but it’s weird they haven’t released any pricing info yet. Getting the appetite up before sticker shock?
My reaction is…well, not too shabby. Far better than the bubble shaped crossovers I see, I like the return to the boxy SUV. Verdict: contender. Range Rover has been put on notice
The Land Rover Defender is better looking but the Lexus wins by a mile on reliability. The Defender will be in the shop 2 times before the Lexus needs its first oil change.

Not sure if it’s the best, but it is going to be hugely popular. I asked about it at my last service and there is a long list of deposits at my dealer. I just personally wish it wasn’t trying so hard to look like a Land Rover.
Why not keeping the 5.7L? This vehicle for off-road and on road. Stop thinking about the government scram- regulation zero pollution and more mileage on gas tank. Toyota already knew that EV things wouldn’t working well, yet.
Love what you do but I have to get a review on the road and hear the start up and engine sound. Damn covid this car should have been released and remodeled.

Great review (as always). Hope that 40 of the 50 Lexus accessories will cover the hideous front end/spindle grill. Maybe a winch and ARB bumper/bull bar will bury that front end. Other than that ugly Lexus front end - this is the SUV we want and deserve.

Wow. Joe good review on the new gx 550 , can't wait until you get to test drive this good looking SUV.
Gloss black where the hood meets the windshield is next level!
Team Steven all the way Joe!
Put my deposit in for this thing a few months ago. Have one of the first allocations for my dealership. Btw, I think it’s a 3.4L engine, not 3.5L.
