Patsy had a tragic life living in poverty and abused, she learnt to play piano by ear at such a young. She went on to release hit after hit and her biggest is Crazy but sadly she died in an arial accident before it truly hit fame, at the age of 30. Reba McIntire, Loretta Lynn and Dolly Parton all say she is the best singer ever and their biggest influence, widely she is regarded as the Queen of Country. I know you have listened to her hits ‘Walkin After Midnight’, ‘Sweet Dreams’, ‘She’s Got You’ and now this. But if you want to hear more ‘Leavin’ On Your Mind’, ‘Come On In’, ‘3 Cigarettes in an Ash Tray’ and my personal favourite her rendition of ‘Lovesick Blues’ has everything from yodelling to rasp, just everything and more. Thanks Patsy for everything you did for music! True Inspiration

I asked my friend who the artist was, because she was always playing her in the background when we would get together once a month. She said; 'You have to be kidding me this is Patsy Cline the original, a one of a kind'. I suddenly stopped drinking my coffee and was in a stunned state. She said; "what is it"? I told her the story. She was almost in tears. My mother passed away about 6 months earlier, and she left me that vase as part of my inheritance. At that moment we felt her with us. Patsy Cline's "SWEET DREAMS" is "HEAVENLY" if there ever was a song called "HEAVENLY". Cline was more than a Country and Western Singer. She definitely was one of the first Cross-Over Artists of her time. Loretta Lynn's idol was Patsy Cline. After a car crash, Cline heard someone singing "I Fall to Pieces" beneath her window in the Hospital. It was Loretta Lynn!

My two all-time favorite female vocalists are Patsy Cline and Karen Carpenter. The Doris Day song I like the most is Put 'Em in a Box, Tie 'Em with a Ribbon and Throw 'Em in the Deep Blue Sea. What a mouthful that is!! As far as Loretta Lynn, she and Patsy were good friends. Their relationship is explored in Loretta's biopic, Coal Miner's Daughter.

Now you MUST listen to the song BLUE sung by Leann Rimes. BLUE was written for Patsy Cline, but she died in a plane crash before she could record it. The song was shelved because NO ONE had the voice for that song like Patsy did. MANY years later the songwriter hear Leann Rimes singing the National Anthem and sent the song to her to sing. It was Leann's first #1 Song at the age of 14, I believe!

Thanks for playing Patsy Cline. I love her music. She was one in 1 million and there’s no one that can replace her. I think what happened was that when rock ‘n’ roll became the main music and then you went to hard rock and then you went to hip-hop music and then rap music the younger generation at the time just did not want songs like Patsy Cline. But it’s nice that we still go back and listen to those songs I’m 69 years old and I remember listening to them when I was young and I just that same feeling listening to her. You feel like she’s tugging at your heart, thank you for playing her music and I will be coming back to your channel.

Patsy is a measuring stick for all female country singers to measure themselves. Just as every country band playing in any bar will know some Hank Williams and George Jones songs, most any female singer or band will know some Patsy. There is a very talented singer in Nashville who got her big break a number of years ago at Dollywood singing and portraying Patsy in a show there. She has done a lot of great music, but still does a lot of Patsy songs too and does them really well. Her name is Mandy Barnett. Worth a listen folks.

I *love* Doris Day, as well, so you aren't alone. lol So glad you did this classic Patsy Cline song; you'll find yourself wandering around the house singing it without even realizing it. No one like Patsy! Where did the voices go? They're still around, but the music industry is about looks and "flash" more than talent anymore, so a lot of amazing talent is left on the sidewalk.

At age 13, Cline was hospitalized with a throat infection and rheumatic fever. Speaking of the incident in 1957 she said, "I developed a terrible throat infection and my heart even stopped beating. The doctor put me in an oxygen tent.
