Hi Dereck! Thanks for your react on Moby feat. Mylène Farmer. This song "Slipping Away (Crier La Vie/Scream Life)" was released on September 25, 2006, ranked No. 1 and certified gold for over 200,000 copies sold.
This is Mylène Farmer's fourth number 1 in this ranking.
In France, the duo then became Mylène Farmer's fifth most successful single if we take into consideration the rankings (behind Désenchantée, Provided they are sweet, Les Mots and Sans Contrefaçon).
This title already existed at the base on Moby's seventh studio album "Hotel" released in 2005 and remixed by Manhattan Clique for the "solo" version.
She is also present on the first compilation "Go-The Very Best Of Moby" released in 2006 and Mylène's second best of "2001-2011" released on December 5, 2011.
The "duo" version uses the same remix of the duo of remixers but reworked with in addition the voice of Mylène in order to harmonize it with that of Moby and to add "reverb" to it during the mixing.
It was present during the mixing and Moby on her side in America and validated the mix received by email.
A second remix, the "MHC Club Remix" will even be offered at the request of the singer's label.
The videoclip directed by Hugo Ramirez uses the images of the initial solo clip and presents scenes of American life from the last decades with French lyrics inlaid as well as an added photo of Mylène as a baby in a sequence.
There is also another duet, a non-single, Looking For My Name in 2008 in the "Point De Suture" album.

One of Mylène's best international collaborations, the second after Seal with "Les Mots" in 2001.
I remember in 2006 that this choice on her part was rather surprising especially "musically" even if we the fans knew that she had known Moby for a few years.
If you look closely, there is still a similarity with Laurent Boutonnat in the 2000s for the "electro-pop" side of the various albums and songs of Mylène, especially the album Point De Suture with Dégénération, C'est Dans L'Air, Sextonik as well as those for Alizée: Moi...Lolita, Gourmandises, etc....
This title was often played on radio (NRJ, Fun Radio, etc...) but also on TV channels like M6.
It is indeed the remix version or "single version" for the clip, however the end is slightly longer (3'58 against 3'39 for the single version).
There is also the Radio Edit (3'39) for the Promo CD, the beginning with a longer instrumental and the sung part of Moby is shorter, one of my favorite versions: ruclips.net/video/0jy1GieLhw8/видео.html

Apart from the fact the sound isn't at the top (flat, metallic, too high-pitched), for the rest, the speed seems ordinary, in the sense that it's a techno rhythm, EDM, and therefore a title instead intended for clubs.

This is a very different mix from the one I'm familiar with and also features a different artist. The version I know features the phenomenal Alison Moyet and is more chill this is a bit too noisy for my taste.
The poor audio quality of this video makes it sound totally different from the studio version. Contrary to what "Jean-Paul Langhoor" says, I've just listened to the original version, and the speed and tone are the same. But the video's audio quality destroys the whole atmosphere...

The tempo is running like the life rythm and then bye-bye.
I love their collaboration "LOOKING FOR MY NAME" so much better. This one just for me is too poppy, somewhat goes nowhere, never liked it, altough I am a huge MF fan also like Mobys work in general a lot.
