So many great hits from Billy Idol, and in various styles (Sweet Sixteen - a beautiful acoustic ballad - White Wedding, To Be A Lover, Eyes Without A Face) . Am sure you'll love and have a blast listening to all his singles from back in the days. Plus Steve Stevens' fantastic guitar riffs (this one was def not one of the songs where he shines but he's a great guitar player)

People tend to think of Michael Jackson, Madonna, Prince & Whitney Houston but in a way Billy belonged to the 80s superstars too. He had so many hits!!!

This song coming from the «Rebel Yell» album in 1983 had a big success (the sond and the album). I had... a cassette at the time, played over and over.
Then I completely lost sight of idol for many years. I saw not too long ago that he was still singing for shows... but he seemed trapped in this 80’s image,
playing the old songs that made him popular. I find it a little sad... You can see him here singing «Flesh or Fantasy», the energy seems to be still there.

I used to listen to his album Whiplash Smile every day over and over for a year. I love every song on that album. I mean, just listen to Don`t need a gun. Fantastic song.

His only #1 in the USA was a live cover of “Mony,Mony!” by Tommy James and the Shondells in 1987. He had already recorded a studio version,released in 1981,that hit the dance chart but never charted on the Hot 100. His breakout hits came in 1983 with “Hot In The City” & “White Wedding”.

Billy Idol started out in the punk band Gen X, they are worth checking out too, late 70s, early 80s. I got to see him in 1983 (I think) at the Hollywood Palladium, he was amazing. He's still a hot bad boy even in his 60's. If you check out Rebel Yell, many of us wish we could have been the dancer who came "dancing to his door."
The only rocker I've seen that just kept getting hotter looking AND better sounding with every passing era.

I know Billy Idol for so long, he was still part of the group Gen X just after been a member of "Siouxsie and the Banshees" (very famous punk band from the 70s) when a friend introduced him to me in 80 or 81. Honestly, I never offered him to react cause I thought you already knew his main hits.
