No. When it's THAT bad, You take the casing off and deep clean it. There are spaces that need more attention than just around the buttons. Like the shell area that meets the buttons inst easy to get to, or the rubber padding that makes contact with the circuit board to acuate a button press. Taking it apart for a deep clean, its far more involved and works much better than Q-tipping around everything. It's not as hard as people think! NOTE: DO NOT USE alcohol that has fragrance, or is less than 90% IPA. Store bought IPA is mildly diluted (usually anywhere brween 40-70% alcohol, the rest being any fragrances or water which is very bad for internal circuitry).
Do not blow air with a straw into your thumbsticks if there are hairs and dust on it and you blow it into your controller your saliva could go in and damage the montherboard and get into the thumbstick modules cause it to rust up
Instead of using a straw and blowing on it i suggest compressed air cans. Doing it with a straw will have a certain level of your breath's humidity. Af any rate I wash my hands before any play session and avoid eating snacks other than drInks.

A soft bristle toothbrush works great from in between buttons and analog sticks just a heads up they hold IPA really well

I would try this but any item that has alcohol in it is illegal in my country.
Every time I use my controller I wipe it thoroughly with an alcohol wipe, since it's chrome gold and I don't want it to be all smudged.
