Fun fact: This tune has been in every single Larian Studios game dating all the way back to their first, Divine Divinity. Back then, it was called "Drunk with Dwarven Mirth" and was composed by the late Kirill Pokrovsky (rest his soul,) who was an absolute prodigy who understood the nuance and emotional gravity that music could carry. Larian's current composer, Borislav Slavov, has preserved Kirill's legacy spectacularly.
Getting a bigger party mod to make combat encounters easier: 😪 Getting a bigger party mod so I can have my God damn ragtag bard band of marry misfits: 🤩🤩🤩
You see, Larian didn't have to make all of the instruments play the songs. But they did it anyway. They didn't have to make them sound unique. But they did it anyway. They certainly didn't have to make them interact together so beautifully... But I'm so glad they did it anyway. This, this tiny detail, is what makes me love BG3. Because they didn't have to: but they did it anyway.
I think it's the ultimate chippy adventure tune. You can already imagine Beast on his ship whistling this, or maybe Tav whistling it while on the road, or even the Hobbits from the Tolkien universe whistling it while going about their day in the Shire. It's just a nice, catchy tune that perfectly encapsulates the cheerfulness of an adventure
I'm doing an all-bard playthrough right now with two friends and Astarion, and in combat, we often start performing a song before we end our turns. One by one our merry little band joins up and we're all playing the same song by the time we get to the last person in the turn order. If you get hit by an attack then you stop playing, but if you dodge it successfully, you continue playing. So if we're lucky, our characters merrily sidestep incoming sword blows with a "Ha-ha!" and keep playing their jaunty tunes together. It feels like we're styling on the enemies and showing off xD
i really love how each instrument add a layer to the piece adding different emotions as they begin joining in you can almost create a whole story just by the the feeling they add. First the lute at the beginning is coquettish but honest in his intent is not exactly flirty since its an honest and clean tone. Almost as if it was a charismatic young sailor a little bit flamboyant but honest nonetheless asking for an intent to see again the lady in the balcony and gain her attention When the harp joins the melody becomes a back and fort were one tries to respond to the other, as both are string instruments. its the maiden answering to the sailor. She is interested but reluctant, he seems honest and she likes that, but she is not sure if she should escape in the middle of the night to meet him, so she is playing hard to get by. When the drums join in, it becomes a more moved piece, the sailor is more verbosse than a bard and has made a quite charming introduction of himself its very clear he has won. The maiden has made up her mind, she is going to see him tonight and she is decided on it. the flute joins and it becomes instantly a better day for the sailor, as he walks away of the balcony knowing damm well he has won. Walking through a path of flowers that seems way more colorfull than they were when he walked in earlier that morning. then the violins hits and it becomes moment to just let sink what he has done. He stops to see the flowers more carefully, one hand on his chin and the other supporting the one on the chin, he leans over to the flowers with a dumb smirk on his face as he acknowledges what he has done, he just won the hearth of lady Findegard, the same one that would not batter an eye on anyone on the ship his smile is wider and full of pride. and lastly the whistles begins and you could even say that the wistles comes from the sailor himself, who now just proven himself that being honest is worthy. Remebering all his crewmates that laughed at him when he said that there was nothing wrong with being honest with a lady, they said that most women would laught at him. He is the one laughin now. Intents to keep being like this no matter what. He walks away along the flowers with his head up, waiting for the sun to hide.
one of the features I so wished was in the game is that if you had mirror image on, the clones would fill out the rest of the bad for a song, like if you start with the lute they would bring out like the violin, drums and what have you.
@@Andriej69 I'm avoiding this game not just because I don't have the time for it but also because I would want to acheive the optimal outcome for all 10 companions. At the moment it doesn't seem possible but it would be easy to while away weeks or months trying. It's also has quite dark themes.
My favorite music from Baldur's Gate 3. When I then played Divinity: Original Sin 2 and heard it, i was surprised and didn't move until the music ended. It gave me goosebumps ❤
Leaving the most risky instrument to Minsc o_O. There is a reason why we have so few master whistlers right now or even historically. Its insanely difficult to whistle at high volume accurately with no flaws.
Hearing this.... Making me wish they making Divinity 2 & Baldur's Gate 3 Cross over, where some of Character from Divinity 2 run arounds on Forgotten Realms, Red Prince who confused with how Dragonborn looks 😂😂😂
Fane would actually fit in this scenario. I can see him roaming around with his notebook, trying to double check stuff he reads on some Volo book, and complaining aloud how nonsensical everything is
I might be a dragonborn now in a different world, but I never forget my times as a proud lizard of the ancient empire, hanging out with Fane, Lohse, Red Prince.
The Act 1 goblins had large drums but they largely seemed to be used as alarms to summon additional guards in combat, rather than anything to do with music.
I only have 3 music scores on my bard playthrough so think a mod for adding more music, but also they are using a mod that lets them have more then 4 characters in a party.

I need new instruments with new songs on them like a horn or harp, also new songs like critical roll theme in this?
Qwwwqq😮
This is amazing and makes me feel great for playing this song in the middle of every encounter. Absolutely love this tune before I knew it's history

Seeing wyll play the flute, as well as having horns, reminds me of Pan from Greek mythology.

I love how every bg3 music video always has Astarion playing the violin. It fits him so well.
I didn’t know that performing without an instrument = whistling! Perfect for this song.
