I was so pleased at the act 1 big camp scene, i started playing a song for everybody and alfira and volo started playing too ! Such a nice surprise really
I was baffled how this feature also works with other NPC bards as well. In the circus in the beginning of act 3, there are two musicians playing. You can place your musicians to them with the same song and it adds seamingless. Truly magical
Everyone praising Larian is absolutely right, but can we also point out how good this video is? The moment each instrument is played adds so much the song.
Amazing the dev's included this. They had to record individual lines of audio for EVERY instrument for EVERY song... They also took the time to set area boundaries for when one person starts playing a song, another npc nearby will match the melody if they are close enough. Truly astounding, TY Larian.
Recording the individual audio isn't difficult. Probably they got all the musicians in a booth at once and had them play along together, and mic'd up each one to record onto separate tracks. Maybe for maximum isolation had each one in a different booth and hearing each other through headphones, but highly directional mics which only pick up the instrument that's directly next to them are the more likely option I think. Admittedly, I'm basing this on only dabbling in music tech and recording at a high school level, so take this opinion with a pinch of salt.
It is really cool. You should check out the instruments in Sea of Thieves. They did a similar thing but its mmo and you have to click and hold to play the instrument individually.
After all the news and hype surrounding Baldur's Gate 3 months ago, I stumbled across Divinity Original Sin 2 on a Best 100 RPGs list without knowing both games were made by the same studio. I knew my laptop couldn't handle Baldur's Gate 3, so I installed DOS 2. This was my first CRPG that was often challenging, relentless and unforgiving for a first time CRPG player more used to RPGs like Skyrim or Fable. However, the intrigue of DOS 2's story, its deep characters, rich story driven choices and variety of combat made me fall in love with this game. After I clawed tooth and nail to beat the final boss more than 10 times, defeating the final bosses left me feeling so satisfied. When I upgrade my PC, the first game I'll be playing is Baldur's Gate 3.
If it helps, baldurs gate 3 can be run on fairly low spec hardware. I wouldnt be surprised if larian pulled a switch port out of their asses this year, even if it was chunky as hell.
The song just causes a rush of emotions from playing the game. When it plays on the final battle you just feel like the fate of the world rests on how the fight plays out.
This sums up easily HALF my time played on this game 😂 Always loved the music from Div Sin, and when I saw I could play it myself , with the lads.. oh my god
Lyrics from an in-game book: You, O! Mystra's loyal, weaver of spells You, O! disciple of Asmodeus, tyrant of the Hells Let your creed be your shield! You, O! student of Helm, your god's watchful eye You, O! Shar's assassin, in whom secrets reside Let your creed be your weapon! You, O! acolyte chosen. Rise in faith or fall in sin.
If this is really in-game feature, I would say so far BG3 is the only game with this, not only they have recorded each instrument individually, but also matching the playing if played together
Ok I understand for every other instrument that it would have been incredibly hard to correctly animate it being played correctly it would take so long to learn all their songs played on them and most people wouldn’t notice ……. BUT THE DRUM like if all they did was animate that even slightly good everyone would be convinced anyway
I am playing a bards-only run (with multi-classing of course) now just to be able to chill and listen to arrangements like these. Also the party stomps on everything on tactician mode since the bard is easily the strongest class in 5E DnD. Too sad Sven said he doesn't play bards in his last interview. He is missing out on the best class in 5E DnD as well as this beautiful feature.
@@GameNinja13 Because they combine extra attacks, full spell-casting levels, have access to both wizard and cleric spells, enhance other charisma based builds, and add their unique mechanics. For example, using a Sword Bard, you can also double the number of your ranged attacks using slashing flourish (ranged). Another example, a Paladin 6 / Lore Bard 6 will have more spell slots to smite than a vanilla Paladin and can run around with Spirit Guardians like a Cleric.
However, if you don't want to mod, you can get your party playing near some of the bards (Alfira, Volo, etc) and they will usually join in in my experience.
I could only find the (Lyre) and the (Bard Song) version of this in the game files. Where can I find the drum, the violin and the flute? I would love to be able to stitch these tracks together into a full high-quality song.
It's a bit of an Easter Egg. Larian Studios (the makers of BG3) also made Divinity: Original Sin 2. As part of a gift to those who downloaded Early Access for BG3, Larian added various (purely cosmetic) items for those players. You can buy the extra stuff, and I think all around they added various music from Divinity: OS2 as a nod to their previous work, as well as the extra content. There are other songs you can play that aren't in any way related to their previous works
Such a small feature, few people will notice it, even fewer will use it, but it is precisely such things that show the soul in this game.

these bard songs really makes want to replay Divinity. The games music alone is so fantastic and still so impactful to me personaly

The fact that this is possible makes me really happy
