Beautiful photos. I have been living in Australia for the past 20 years after leaving Anglesey so watching your videos brings back a lot of memories. I used to visit many of the beach locations as a metal detectorist . Photography is now my main hobby and the videos are really helpful thanks for explaining in depth about how you create the composition for your photos as this is an area I need to improve on Thanks again for reaching and inspiring
Hello Ian, many thanks for watching and your very kind feedback. I'm so glad you are able to enjoy the locations which I feature from the perspective of knowing them well, and I'm so glad that I am able to help you a little with your photography. To be honest, these are the exact reasons I run this channel because it's great to create enjoyment and learning at the same time! 😊👍
Thoroughly enjoyable video David , your images are superb , the time and effort you put into your work really pays off, your videos have convinced me to spend at least a week there when i come over in August 21 unfortunately I'l only be in the U.k for 5 weeks but I intend to make the most of them , and thanks for your hard work It will certainly make thing so much easier for me without having to scout locations.
Some lovely images David. You've really captured the essence of Newborough forest. Good work! All the best for the new year to both you and the lovely Mrs G.
Thank you so much John, and very best wishes to you and yours for 2020. Sorry this is a little late, for some reason I got completely inundated recently! 😊👍
Cracking collection of images, they just got better as the vlog went on! The stacked exposures one is brilliant, really nice feel to it! I do love watching the waves come in and receed! Brilliant video Griff
Thank you for one more video.I am always surprised how much thinking and planning that goes into your pictures. This is useful learning for me. Not much point and shoot! Look forwards to more videos in the new year and also to see your new dog. Best wishes.
Just discovered your channel. Just brilliant. Could listen to you explain techniques all day long. Thank you for sharing! Also justifies my new Olympus purchase too so thank you again.
Hi Brad, thank you so much for taking the time to get in touch with such generous feedback. It is much appreciated and I am so pleased that my channel is interesting and helpful. As to your choice of camera system, I can only compliment you on your excellent decision-making. I'm willing to bet you won't be at all disappointed! 😊👍
Cheers Andy, and all the very best to you and yours for 2020. Sincere apologies for being so slow to reply to you, but for some unknown reason I appear to have many hundreds more comments than usual on the channel which have needed follow-up! 😊👍
Hi Patrick, yes you're quite right they do come in very handy. I would most certainly struggle without one. Many thanks for watching, and your very generous feedback 😊👍
Thanks for another great vlog. Especially liked the receding waves and the little tower (the name of which I won't even try to spell!). Hearing your thoughts as you work, as always, makes it very interesting. Happy New Year.
Hi Roger, that canon is quite interesting because I've seen many an image of it but very few that were particularly interesting. I think part of the problem is that whenever the light is "right" people tend to point there are cameras at the more epic subjects, perhaps this is something I should remedy before too long! 😊👍
A good day's shooting Dave. You got some lovely images. Your vlog reminded me of the wonderful times I spent there when a child on holiday and then later in the 1970's when I worked on the construction of the Dinorwig Power Station and lived close by.
Hello Anthony, thank you so much for watching and taking the time to get in touch. May I wish you and yours all the very best for 2020. I'm so sorry this is a little tardy, but I seem to have been inundated recently. Many apologies! 😊👍
Just wonderful images again Dave, love the tree shots and the receding water one, together with your background music makes these very tranquil scenes to watch.
Thanks a lot Steve, yes it was a very good day out. And in a location like that very easy to enjoy my time whether or not any of the images were worth sharing! 😊👍
Hi David - I'm embarrassed to say I've only just stumbled across your channel - I really enjoyed your informed and relaxed style in an area thats very close to home - really looking forward to hours of catching up - cheers! T 🙂
Hello Tony, thank you ever so much for watching and your very kind feedback. Please, no need to apologise or be embarrassed! I appreciate you supporting the channel and hope I'll be able to keep you entertained. Just one word of warning, don't watch anything older than number 60. They're all rubbish and would be a waste of your valuable time!! 😊👍
One of your best posts ever. I really enjoyed your explanation of your thought processes. Great images. Best wishes for the coming year. Keep up the great work.
Hello Jack, many thanks for watching and being good enough to leave such generous feedback. It's a lot of work keeping this channel up and it's great to know that people are enjoying it. Thanks again 😊👍
It's New Year's Day and I'm sitting up n the bed watching this. However I don't feel guilty because I was out with friends photographing a waterfall a few days ago - it's great to get out especially this time of year. Anyhow great shots and Happy New Year 😎👍
Yes and watching you work the island is an absolute dream. Love the long lens shots, I tried this last time and failed, you made it look easy. I miss Llanddwyn. X peace and love for 2020
Best wishes to you and yours for the New Year too mate! Really sorry it's taken me an age to get back to you, but as you may have spotted on the channel for some reason I seem to have thousands of comments to reply to all of a sudden! Not sure why... 😊👍
Hi Griff, I did rather enjoy the 4th image that you presented showing the Lynn backdrop with several weathered trees in the foreground. Quite special IMHO
Hello John, thank you so much for watching and your very kind feedback. It's always a really tough choice as to which images make the cut for video explanations. Sometimes I have to be quite brutal otherwise my videos would be far too long. But I quite like that one as well, it was just that the one I featured had the sapling in the foreground and I felt that made it slightly more useful to other photographers in terms of technique. Anyway, thanks again for your very kind feedback 😊👍
One of the places I wanted to visit on my trip to Anglesey in November, but the tide times weren't right so I left it for next time... Beautiful shots.
Fantastic location , been only once and didn’t have the best conditions but so much variety of subject matter in a small area , cracking images and video
Hi Jeff, thank you so much for your very kind and encouraging feedback. All the very best to you and yours also for 2020 and I really hope you're able to spend a little more time in this area! 😊👍
Another fantastic video very interesting and informative. It would be quite good to see you progress the first image with you focus blending and hdr { bracketed shots}
martin sanderson Yes another great video. I too would like to see a blog showing how you processed that image, having heard your thoughts when shooting it. Happy New Year
Hi Linda, thank you ever so much for watching and being good enough to leave such generous feedback it's much appreciated. And now that I've discovered your channel, I'm going to be binge watching your videos! If you ever spot me out and about please do come and say hello, it would be nice to chat as I'm sure we have a fair bit in common! 😊👍
Cheers mate, really sorry for the slow reply. For some reason I seem to have many more comments than usual to get round to replying. Not sure why... 😊👍
Stunning location, and yet another incredibly well-presented episode. Lovely set of images too, it's interesting to note you spend so long looking for a composition, that's something most of us rarely mention yet certainly worth knowing for those just starting out in photography 🙂👍
Cheers mate, really sorry it's taken me an age to respond! But for some reason I appear to have hundreds more comments than usual on the channel and it's been a complete nightmare catching up with everything. No idea why... 😊👍
Nice to see a different slant on the shoot of this location.. thought the tree stumps shots worked well. As ever your informative presentation is something that adds substance to vlogs that other vloggers don't do so well . Lovewly sequence of images on the outro also. All the best to you & the family for 2020.
Cheers mate! Really sorry I've been horribly slow getting back to you, but for some unknown reason the channel seems to have generated way more comments than usual and it's been a huge amount of time and effort to catch up again! I couldn't possibly say why!!! 😊👍
Great vlog and your a lucky man having that on your doorstep, do you know any cheap and cheerful places to stay near there, its a bit of a drive from sunderland
The long exposure with the sea going back out and the shot of the small tower were exquisite. I thought the music also fit the video perfectly. On the tower shot, did you work on the footsteps in post? They were not nearly as noticeable as I expected when watching the video clip.
Hi Philip, well spotted! When I set the image up there were no footprints on the beach, but by the time I'd waited for some people to come and go there were plenty! So I used one of the earlier beach shots in the blend in post-processing! 😊👍
Happy New Year to you and yours as well Brian, really sorry this is so late but I seem to have had many more comments than usual recently to deal with. I should keep Mrs G off the Internet!! 😊👍
Hi David, really enjoy your content I was wondering how do you get to llanddwyn for sunrise? I was hoping to go tomorrow bu just found out the car park doesn’t open till 9 am 😔
The barrier is usually left open outside of business hours. I wasn't aware they were actually closing it again - like they did during lockdown1. Not sure if your info is accurate 😊👍
Such a beautiful, stunning area we usually visit the island every year snow permitting when out of season and we can take our 2 dogs with us ( shiba inus ). With my work holidays changed I can now visit slightly later . Your images show its beauty well David, awesome work.💪
Never been to wales but you portray it wonderfully .250 miles is a bit more than a day out LOL. But one day hope to get there. Just subscribed to your site a couple of days ago .Brilliant . Interested in the audio equipment you use and your Vlog camera . any info please.? keep up the great work. will keep watching for more.
Hello Roger, thanks so much for supporting my channel. Hope to keep you entertained! With regards to vlogging gear, I use my main Camera for B-roll where the camera is stationary, but for A-roll and if I'm going to move the camera for B-roll I use the DJI Osmo Pocket as it's got a great gimbal and shoots 4K up to 60fps. Audio is captured via a Rode Wireless Go and a Rode lav mic and it's recorded direct onto the Osmo footage. I use a if you have a look over my back catalogue I've mentioned these so that might be helpful! 😊👍
Maybe I've been spoiled by your other vlogs Mr G, but this didn't quite achieve your usual high standards. Though the B roll was excellent! One image I really liked was the long distance perspective of Tŵr Mawr, and the work in the dead pines was inspirational (something to try on my next visit), but the weather and haze blocking contrast of the Llyn peninsula didn't help.
Nice watch before I drive off from north Wales to Manchester! I wish I was heading west to Newborough instead!! Newborough and LI have been done to death as you say, but you managed to get some stunning images there. Hope your last vlog brings in lots of new viewers and subscribers although I bet you get more than a few thumbs downs from the TH fanboys ! :)
Hahaha yes we've been rather savaged from some quarters, but it just a bit of festive fun, of which Tom was good enough to allow publication and has since commented. A good guy and he has my utmost respect! 😊👍
Another greta Vlog David, starting to get back into the swing of things myself again, look forward to Feb
An absolutely wonderful video. Wish I was there with you but the video will have to do. Thanks David.

Just fantastic images again David
Many thanks Ray, really appreciate you watching and so glad you enjoyed it! 😊👍
Great compositions nicely edited, can't help but think the old canon behind you at 16:00 would make a nice shot with the right light.
Hi Roger, that canon is quite interesting because I've seen many an image of it but very few that were particularly interesting. I think part of the problem is that whenever the light is "right" people tend to point there are cameras at the more epic subjects, perhaps this is something I should remedy before too long! 😊👍

A pleasure to watch David. Happy new year. Anthony.

Great to see some different viewpoints of an iconic place. Just goes to show that you can make a different shot. Excellent vlog. 👍
