What a fantastic video Dave and can I say a huge thank you to you and Jan for being such great hosts. Your images of the small lighthouse were fantastic and this is a place I’d love to return too. D Griff, a real gentleman 🙏
Total pleasure, mate. Oh and I tracked down the exact spot I was on about: Landguard Point, Felixstowe ... www.google.com/maps/place/Landguard+Point/@51.9462705,1.3182367,7585m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m5!3m4!1s0x47d97733a3922437:0xb710533b3a40f488!8m2!3d51.9325555!4d1.3195241👍
Great video. What a wonderful place. I've not been since I was a nipper. Brought back some memories. Wonderful shots. It's a pleasure to watch you at work.
Your videos are wonderful lessons. You talked about exposing to the right. I had heard that often, BUT you explained why! So clearly. So much other good information as well. Thank you.
Thank you so much for taking the time to comment, Janet. I really appreciate it. Sometimes you put these things together and wonder if they'll be a bit helpful as well as a bit of entertainment. 😀
I really enjoyed this Dave, Im glad I have discovered your channel, it was lovely to see this video, with you and Darren collaborating together in this beautiful location. I thourly look forward to enjoying more of your vlogs in future.
thanks David, another great vlog! The final 2 images are superb and are definitely my favourites. Thanks as always for your time and effort - I am now off to check out Darren's channel. Thanks again and see you on the next one.
always big fun to be out with somebody who share the same passion as photography is......lot of good conversation and tips, thank you for sharing very enjoyable outing, cheers Verdon!
Thanks a lot Ken. I've certainly been there on better days for light, but to be fair, even though it was flat, we did have some great sky to work with 😀
Another fantastic video David, I always watch on the TV. but had to watch again on the Computer just to drop a comment. Always very informative, and I really enjoy the way you take the viewer through your composition and the thought process behind the final image.
Great to see more of the island in this vlog David. Another one for the location list, it's getting longer each vlog I'm watching of yours! Thanks for sharing and really enjoyed your images.
What a super production, with two great up-and-coming vloggers both in easy reach of 1000 subs! I've said it before, but why not say it again; your presentation skills are very professional and make it very watchable. The image at 15:05 was my favourite. Cheers!
To me, that looked like some very interesting light, maybe no bright spots of sun, but still intriguing. It made for an interesting atmosphere. I've been there to the island once, but the tide was in and I wanted to get over to the church in the sea, so I didn't get out to photograph the lighthouses (I'm from the US).
Hi Steve, thanks ever so much for watching and getting in touch. What a pity the conditions were against you when you visited, but I guess that unlike a lot of my viewers having had first hand experience of the location you can understand the feeling of the place. As it happens the Church in the Sea is my nearest beach, about 5mins from home so I'm there a lot too!
Another great video, sir. I love the horizontal "layering" of your tower image. Considering the light you had to play with, the colours you captured are stunning, as is the image itself. Keep up the great work, although don't lose your balance like that again! I'm not good with heights and that gave me a "turn" :-)
Cracking! great to see you an Darren, some fabulous shots an for fucks sake be careful on them cliffs!! I actually twitched and covered my eyes!! Look forward to seeing Darrens vlog and shots.
Me too. To both. Twitched watching it back! And looking forward to Darren's! Thanks a lot mate - and I'll get hold of you after New Year to sort out a little mountain hang out for us - a bit of snow and ice hopefully, with stunning Alpine scenery - deffo, but zero climbing, just a gentle stroll. I kid you not!! 👍
Great vlog, David. As others have said, you teetering on the edge was not easy to watch. I’d not come across Daren Knight’s channel, more tablet time coming up!
fantastic vlog there buddy I really enjoyed that, so very informative which was nice. my favourite has to be the last one, the focus stacked image. PS that looked like a bit of a drop there I thought you were a gonna haha.
@@DGriffGallery Look forwards to it very much after New Year matey, looking to meet up with Gary before i return home next thursday weather permitting, We also have a new venue for thre camera club, the football club stopped us using there rooms, but dont it by txt late Tuesday night, So we are now at the Conservative Club for meeting but at least we will have heating
Blimey David, my bum was pouting when you are standing on that cliff edge shooting the old light boat house😱 You should start your own Welsh photography tourist business, the amount of togs you've been hosted recently! Great to see Darren having fun! Interesting tips there regarding shooting a stop lighter to bring back in post - I normally shoot a shot darker, but your point about introducing noise is a good one. Great video, really enjoyed watching it
Jamie, thanks so much for tuning in and taking the time to comment. I really appreciate it 👍I'm always very happy to share my enthusiasm for my local patch - Coast and Mountains together - fab! Do let me know if you're even in the area ... 😀
Amaizing , amaizing , amaizing ! I have been at this place not too long ago but unfortunately i lost all my images from that day :( anyway this place worth to visit more than ones :) thanx to god you did not fell off from the rocks be careful :) enjoyed this video as always I do from you. I hope we meet soon there :) thanx
Nice collaboration. Looking forward to seeing what Darren captured too... the images worked well with the conditions you was having... I think my fave was the image where you nearly went for a dip - my heart was in my mouth as you stepped back mate..lol. Always love the way you talk us through your compositions and how you want to present them .
Yeah I can't wait to see Darrens material. What I saw on the back of his camera was very interesting! I was more worried about hauling the bloody camera in after me - I made an instinctive grab for the tripod! 😂😜
Oh mate I would have loved to, but the date is right in the "lots going on zone". Always a mad workload running up to Xmas - I'm in London the next day with meetings and client entertainment shit. Just couldn't make it work - if only GG had held it over until Jan when there's sod all else going on!
Hello Martin, I’ll be honest it’s been so long since I made this video I can’t honestly remember exactly what was going through my mind at the time. So I’m not sure whether I’m qualified to answer your comment either way. But what I can say is that I am so pleased that you tuned in and took the time to make contact, so I really hope you enjoyed this video😊👍🏻

15:17 The soft glow on the building and ground in front of it are masterful touches.
Another enjoyable vlog with some wonderful images showing you don't have to always take the 'iconic' photo.
Thanks a lot Deryck, I'm lucky to be able to go for the iconic shots when the conditions are better.
Looks like a "target rich environment" and you certainly made the best of it with some beautiful shots!
😊👍
The picture you took whilst involuntarily BASE jumping was sublime. Another great video Dave 👍🏻
hahaha I managed the take without being to "ruffled" but I thought I was a goner for a second!
Great hobby I love landscape and Nature photography! very beautiful place. thanks for sharing my friend!
Thank you so much for watching, I really appreciate it 👍

Marvelous Vlog David
Some stunning images and great to see both you and Darren together in particular at a spot I’ve visited myself
Well done guys
Thanks a lot Darren, just about to settle down with your Fall series ... 👍
Thanks David .. you’re too kind :-)

Thanks Robert - Darren is definitely well worth following - he's a great photographer and an engaging vlogger! 👍

Thanks a lot Verdon. I always enjoy meeting up with friends I've made online. Maybe one day you can show me around your patch! 👍
would be just awesome,,,,,,,
You have great attention to detail David. The drone footage at 10:20, what a mono shot that would have been with that lurrrvely curved line👍👍
Yes you're right about that - unfortunately my little drone takes terrible stills!
Fabulous video and really beautiful
images looks like the light wasn’t very good that day
Thanks a lot Ken. I've certainly been there on better days for light, but to be fair, even though it was flat, we did have some great sky to work with 😀
Beautiful work again. Thanks for sharing
Thanks as always Tony - delighted to still be keeping you entertained! 👍

Thanks a lot Graeme, wow 2 views for the price of one! Bargain! 😀Great to see you back in form too, with some great Salford shots 👍
Great to see more of the island in this vlog David. Another one for the location list, it's getting longer each vlog I'm watching of yours! Thanks for sharing and really enjoyed your images.
Cheers. This is one of those iconic locations so I have a couple of vlogs from here 👍😃
Top stuff mr G. And you got to meet Mr Night rider himself haha different angles well done
Thanks a lot Paul - would love to get you and Denice over here in the New Year 👍
100% your on be over in January

I'm pretty sure you'll enjoy Darren's stuff too 👍
Two of my favourite vloggers, but let's be honest we nearly lost one!! How close were you to that edge mate??!!?
Yeah, literally right on it - and watching it back, I made a grab for the tripod. No need to drag the bloody camera in too if I took a dip!! 😂😅
fantastic vlog there buddy I really enjoyed that, so very informative which was nice. my favourite has to be the last one, the focus stacked image. PS that looked like a bit of a drop there I thought you were a gonna haha.
Thanks mate - yeah I was really quite close to getting wet!
Great vlog David, such a great place to go and shoot at, and every tog has shot there but untill you shoot them yourself its totally different
Quite right Barry - do let me know when you're next down this way - it's been too long since we last got together! In the New Year maybe?

Nice one Dave. I think we need to get you away from the island a bit more you look far too comfortable :-D
Haha, I'll take "comfortable" any time! 👍
