Chicago is one of the worst US Cities for murders and the State has very strict gun laws.Criminals get guns from Indiana where many more people own guns and there are much less murders. Why would that be Matt??Criminals don't obey gun laws.

From the uk and currently live in London. Our legal system is difficult to navigate when it comes to self defence which can leave people hesitant to react until the last minute. It should also be said Knife crime in London is particularly high, with criminals using them without fear. People get stabbed in London daily for literally no reason. I think the shop keeper did really well, used verbal deescalation and stayed well within the law when disarming him when his guard was down. I do wish things were different, but they aren’t so we have to do the best we can given the circumstances. Thanks for showing this ASP, another great video. Hope to see more from the uk.
In North America, firearm deaths were responsible for roughly 76% of all homicides, with knife-related homicides accounting for less than 20%. However, the numbers are reversed in Europe, where guns account for barely 20% of homicides but knives are used nearly 40% of the time. In fact, the United Nations identified sixteen countries in which knives and sharp instruments were used in more than half of the country's homicides World review stource
Gun control was tightened in the UK around 30 years ago after 2 mass shootings by nutjobs. Guns are mainly confined to drug gangs and no groups are calling for a relaxation of gun control. It is rare for a cop to get shot and thankfully there have not been any mass shootings in recent times.@@BuildTheSandbox
You guys are just at the whims of criminals. Guns are the ultimate equalizer. A 4’10 lady can defend again a 6” man here in America. Many deaths are self inflicted with guns. However they just stab eachother there. The violence doesn’t go away when you ban guns. They are just as violent there. Just different tools.
She probably just popped in to get some milk 😂. The age groups seem too different and she did look confused. Hopefully this chav gets caught soon. Someone will recognise that voice.
Worth noting that in self defence within your home, you may use disproportionate force since new legal guidance was issued a few years ago here in the UK. I don't know if that extends to a workplace but please, folks, understand the law, especially when it comes to home invaders. Now you are only required to refrain from grossly disproportionate force. It basically means you can arm yourself in the heat of the moment and use that weapon to defend yourself and others in your home. The law also states that they do not expect people to "weigh to a nicety" the level of force you believe is required in the heat of the moment. Also worth noting, you do not need to wait to be attacked to use this force. Things aren't quite as bad for a defender as some make out and I'd hate for people to fail to defend themselves out of fear of breaking the law.
The fact that was just recently made a law is terrifying. It sounds like it is still a far cry from US castle doctrine. I’m sure many citizens over there are scared of prosecution. It’s like that in some states as well.
Section 76(5A) is what you are referring to. The law is actual based on genuine belief of imminent harm. Both Castle Doctrine and stand you ground legislation are often misunderstood. People believe it to be something it is not. American law still has centuries old principles in in self defence and not revenge or anything else.

I live in the UK and I can 100% say it would definitely not be better if people were armed. There’s hardly any gun crime here, people aren’t running around trying to murder cops but you enjoy your ‘freedom’.
Haha, precisely mate. The amount of Americans here thinking guns actually helps situations is insane. I've lived in London for over 30 years and the only time I've seen a gun up close is when a policeman was carrying one. And like you, I'd prefer to keep it that way.
Huge fan of ASP. Brit here. Strongly believe that arming Brits is not the answer. From a reliable online source: "The annual rate of gun homicide per 100,000 of the population is currently 0.03 in Great Britain. This compares with 3.6 in the USA, a rate that is 120-fold greater." Our gun crime rate is significantly lower, please let's keep it that way. The only folk with guns are serious organised criminal gangs and specialist police.
@@TC-dw6wg That's what I said.....the ONLY people with guns are organised criminal gangs and specialist police. Let's not make them more popular because then we might end up with an astronomical gun homicide rate like the US. Who's the fool? The country with the higher or lower rate?
@@TC-dw6wg Most gangs here use machetes and knives. "The right to self-defence is a universal human right." Meanwhile, in Canada... This past week a convenience store clerk was able to take a would-be robber's baseball bat from them, after the robber struck him with it. He proceeded to chase and beat the crook down with it, after turning the tables. Then the clerk got charged with aggravated assault for doing so 🤦♂ Only thing you got a right to here, is bending over and taking it from criminals unfortunately.
The attacker is in every second a threat to the victim as he decided to threat the victim with a knife to get valuables, so it could be estimated that the offender takes the next chance to get the knife back and attack again. It is not understandable if jurisdictions do not allow victims to take any possible means to defend their health, because the offenders threat their health.
If guns were as free as the USA, this perp would be armed with something other than a steak knife, and it would be more deadly for everyone, even for bystanders.
Americans have tunnel visions, they can't see the consequences of millions of guns. It's all about that one off Hollywood moment during a robbery. Not the other thousands of incidents that at end up with dead people though mundane stupidity.
Defo the UK when the guy apologises for walking into the robbery. I am very happy that we dont have laws that allow guns. If we did the likelihood is that the robber would also have a gun. I reckon 99.9% of UK citizens would agree with this.
😂 I think the Bad Guy still didn't have the right to carry the knife during the travel between his home and the shop. Yet he did. Criminals are so difficult to understand for law makers.
I never understood why self-defense is a right given by authorities. It's an instinct, basically, I think. I'm protecting myself everyday on random things like wearing a helmet or gloves whatever, we do it everyday without even thinking. Edit, if I'm in a life or death situation, damn yes I'll fight for me and my loved ones..wtf!
The right to defend oneself isn't granted by any government. It's a human right that we all inherently possess, but which some people are disallowed from exercising.
As a citizen of Australia, I am sooooo glad we DON'T have the right to bear arms. We just simply don't have the level of gun crimes like that in the US. I feel safer here than I would in the US.
Having less crime in Australia has likely more to do with lower population density than the illegality of firearms. Firearms don't magically vanish when they're forbidden, and many more firearms are used to stop or prevent crimes than to cause them.
The woman also tries to get the shopkeeper off the perp 🤷🏻♂️ arguably worse Edit: I'm not sure anyone in that video was actually English either, I get the feeling this is near London where there are nearly zero English
It's great to be an American. We fought-for and kept our natural right to keep & have on us our defensive tools. Pity those Brits. They bent-over. :-P Now look @ that country.
We didn't "bend over" - there was NEVER a right to bear arms in this country, despite what the Bill of Rights sovereign citizen idiots claim. I wish we had that right, but the upside is a very low violent crime rate. Yes, look at the statistics, not the news stories about knives in the inner city (still not at the same rate as US cities btw).
Thanks for the Pity, but the 2A has caused more dead Americans than any war America has ever been in, including many school kids. No bullet proof glass, razor wire, single entry doors or security guards on our schools. That's what freedom looks like.
In the UK the law is just looking for someone to process. They don’t care if it’s the victim or the perp. Anyone will do. The problem is that the law is only ever there after the crime. Always there just to justify their salary, the great believers in and, promoters of common sense that they are. If common sense was real, they’d be all out of a job! 😂
When studying catering management here in the UK one lecturer stated specifically that the bottles of alcohol attached to their holders on the wall were the most accessable and legally viable weapons to respond to an attacker.
Eventually the law will change in the UK because the public will demand it changes. Something has to give and in my opinion we are getting close to the tipping point. Politicians are, as usual asleep at the wheel and are totally and utterly disconnected from the public!
40,000 killed in gun violence in America last year, less than 50 in the UK, even knife deaths are higher per capita in the US. So no the laws wont change.
I am not suggesting that guns will suddenly be allowed in the UK but rather change will occur, especially in retail environments such as the video. Pepper spray at the very least is a no brainer.@@vincentmcbride6210
@@vincentmcbride6210Exactly. Who on earth wants the laws to change. For what? So we can turn into America and have weekly videos from the UK for John to review? Nah, we're good.
@@vincentmcbride6210 .............Like to know where you get your information from? Over half of gun related deaths in America are from suicide then you have plenty of police killings. You should also look at the ethnicity of the overal gun related crime. A firearm is a tool, it's people that use that tool to kill. Pavements/Sidewalks also kill, should we ban all pavements and sidewalks?
UK shop owners don’t need to carry because they have that tough, rigid plastic barrier. Nobody’s getting behind that counter unless they can hop over a 3-foot counter.
Security cameras back then, if they were installed (which was rare), were monitored by humans. It was just closed circuit TV sent to a monitoring station. And only high-security venues would bother to install them. There was no cheap medium to record footage to. It wasn't until video tape recorders became affordable that private businesses started installing security cameras that recorded to tape. But even with tape recorders, they weren't keeping the footage or publishing it. If nothing happened, the tapes would get reused and overwritten. If something happened, they'd make a copy for the police, and either the original tape or the copy would end up being kept as evidence. Footage of particularly newsworthy incidents might find its way into a news broadcast. But your run-of-the-mill robbery probably never found its way onto the airwaves. Those old tapes, even if they weren't overwritten, have long since deteriorated, because the data on magnetic tape just doesn't hold up over time. If the footage didn't get broadcast on a TV station or incorporated into a documentary, and get subsequently archived somehow, it's long gone. Today, not only are video cameras ubiquitous, but storage media is also ubiquitous and cheap. And copying or transferring the footage is quick and easy. That's why you can see so much surveillance footage of these types of incidents.
"Freedom is scary for some folks," says the guys who live where it is literally illegal to cross the street, it's illegal to not carry ID papers at all times while driving, and have to bow down to the authority of police at gunpoint.
They already have guns. This clerk just happened to win the lottery that day. If 5000 illegal guns are confiscated in England every year. Imagine how many are out there to begin with!
@@TheFreshman321 there were over 1000 firearm offenses committed last year alone in London… and you’re the one who still believes they don’t have guns, so… 🫤
John you wish the UK allowed guns despite the facts that the U.S. has the 28th-highest rate of deaths from gun violence in the world: 4.31 deaths per 100,000 people in 2023. That was more than 340 times higher than in the United Kingdom, which had 0.013 deaths per 100,000"
Those deaths are from places with extreme gun control. Those death rates are also from illegal guns from repeat offenders. Its a failure of the U.S. penal system, nothing else.
Those "Ds" are mostly in areas with high gun control. And are done with illegal "Gs" by repeat offenders. Its a failure of the judicial system, nothing more.
I don't get the US logic, if guns were legal here the robber would have had one too. There's a reason the murder rate is lower in the UK. I'm not saying the UK doesn't have crime but adding guns definitely wont help. Yes knives are dangerous but you have to be within arms reach to be hurt. Take the Las Vegas mass shooting a few years ago. If he had a knife on the 30th floor i doubt anyone in the crowd 100s of metres away would have been hurt. I know thats not related to this but i feel safer without guns about.
Americans think school Shooting are normal. 😂 and every one needs guns. So strange. No one wants guns in uk. They have no logic..and this guy that runs this RUclips is so dump. Has no logic.

I remember watching a video on this channel I think last year, about some crazy dude in the UK trying to go into someones house, I think he was trying to get into other houses in the neighborhood as well. He was attacking the owner and others. He had a knife or scissors, I can't remember exactly, but while the owner was waiting for the 4-5 cops to show up, a bunch of the neighbors came by with golf clubs, and like a piece of lumber and no one could stop this guy. If they had rights to protect themselves it wouldn't have been a problem. I also remember watching a clip, not on this channel, of a guy causing problems with driving erratically and putting others in harms way, something like 6-7 officers tried surrounding his vehicle and all they could do is blow a whistle and try to beat on his window with their batons. Such a backwards country....
If you write that I’ll informed bilge from America with its record of home grown carnage to fuel idiots still fixated on a war of independence centuries ago, and Big Ammo, you are officially leading Moron of the Year 2024. Congrats🎉🎉🎉
UK London illegal defender here, I carried pepper spray on me as a defence/deterrent against motorcycle thieves on the streets. Two police officers on their motorcycles noticed it, boxed me in, took my pepper spray off me then immediately arrested me. I was then told this counts as a firearm under UK law and I could be looking at 6 years in prison. Fortunately, I had no prior criminal convictions and managed to get out of custody after 24hrs and a thorough interview which ended in a stern warning. So I now have a criminal record for carrying illegal firearms!
I live in Australia which has similar gun laws to the UK. I’m staggered & disappointed by the naive commentary “freedom is scary for some people” & “the government disarms you”. Please don’t disrespect other countries for having more stringent rules around personal gun ownership, especially when those controls work.

Just to update you on the area. It was not London but Suffolk as I know the bloke who walked in and when he saw what was happening walked out. It was also on the local news. They caught the bloke holding up the shop. No update on sentencing yet.
he'll get 5 minutes in jail
Was the fellow who walked in okay?
Three months doing rope climbing lessons as one judge handed out in Victoria Australia to a small gang of newly arrived youth with a sob story to get into the country. The judges appointed by government cronies. They are puppets with a penchant for young boys.
Thank you. Which town in Suffolk? Ipswich?
Your friend is a coward who should have helped. Please tell him I said so.
When people want to make fun of the UK for having such strict gun laws i have 1 question for you, how many mass shootings and school shootings do they have in the UK every year? Or in the past 10 years for that matter. Having scrict laws against firearms isnt always a bad thing, Canada too
None for over 25 years. Dunblane was the last one in the 90s. We don't have mass shootings with the frequency of municipal bus timetables
Chicago is one of the worst US Cities for murders and the State has very strict gun laws.Criminals get guns from Indiana where many more people own guns and there are much less murders. Why would that be Matt??Criminals don't obey gun laws.
The sad thing is if the Shopkeeper had Any form of weapon on him For his self-defence and used it. He would have got arrested. You're not legally allowed to carry anything for self-defence in England. I've been stabbed before and robbed. It sucks but if I had anything on me to protect myself and I used it. I would get arrested😢
Same in Canada. And yet royalty and politicians never go without a posse of pistol-carrying, armoured guards. Worthless, evil hypocrites.
@sawsquatch5558 I've honestly never felt like I needed armed guards so I don't envy them for having them.
And I could probably get a firearms license here in England if I wanted, but I can't imagine what I'd need it for.
@@drummingtildeathdefending yourself from dummies.
@@BuildTheSandboxunlike the US we rarely have to defend our lives from dummies. Someone robbing you might have a knife and you’ll just hand them your phone or deal with it like the guy in the video. We don’t have to deal with shit like the Wild West US in Europe. Travel beyond your borders some day and then tell me if you can notice a difference. The US is literally a third world country that has managed to portray themselves as a first world country through the glamour of Hollywood.
Sadly you are 100% correct
From the uk and currently live in London. Our legal system is difficult to navigate when it comes to self defence which can leave people hesitant to react until the last minute. It should also be said Knife crime in London is particularly high, with criminals using them without fear. People get stabbed in London daily for literally no reason. I think the shop keeper did really well, used verbal deescalation and stayed well within the law when disarming him when his guard was down. I do wish things were different, but they aren’t so we have to do the best we can given the circumstances.
Thanks for showing this ASP, another great video. Hope to see more from the uk.
I love that Americans think adding 2 guns to this situation would have been to anyone's benefit.....
Yep, they are mental! As if their approach has a good track record. More lost in Mall and School shootings than Iraq! Yet they lecture us. 🤡🤡🤡
US States with more gun owners have less homicides. Why would that be Sherlock shaun?
I was noticing the wall full of liquor bottles behind the clerk. I suppose one of those to the noggin are against the rules also?!? 🤔
I was thinking that-especially when the perp bent over that drawer.
That was his favourite knife and hoody as well 😂
There was no beat down at any point in this video
Comment from the UK, ranked low No.189 in World gun deaths by country. The USA is ranked very high at No. 3 and we would like to keep it that way.
In North America, firearm deaths were responsible for roughly 76% of all homicides, with knife-related homicides accounting for less than 20%. However, the numbers are reversed in Europe, where guns account for barely 20% of homicides but knives are used nearly 40% of the time. In fact, the United Nations identified sixteen countries in which knives and sharp instruments were used in more than half of the country's homicides

Our violent crimes are just able to be stopped by those defending themself. However there this guy had to bring a fist to a knife fight. Guns equalize
Not totally convinced the woman wasn't part of the robbery, I could be wrong.
She walked in looking like "what's taking so long ".
She probably just popped in to get some milk 😂. The age groups seem too different and she did look confused. Hopefully this chav gets caught soon. Someone will recognise that voice.
Thats a long bow to draw.
I was wondering the exact same thing

The Monty Python, Benny Hill beatdown.
Things aren't quite as bad for a defender as some make out and I'd hate for people to fail to defend themselves out of fear of breaking the law.
thanks.......we do not want guns......facts and stats............................cant beat em. USA is a warzone
The fact that was just recently made a law is terrifying. It sounds like it is still a far cry from US castle doctrine.
I’m sure many citizens over there are scared of prosecution. It’s like that in some states as well.
Hahaha what a joke, I’m glad to be American
Self defence has always been legal, Americans like to exaggerate European laws to make themselves feel superior.
Section 76(5A) is what you are referring to. The law is actual based on genuine belief of imminent harm. Both Castle Doctrine and stand you ground legislation are often misunderstood. People believe it to be something it is not. American law still has centuries old principles in in self defence and not revenge or anything else.
At least the old woman held the robber for 2 seconds. The older man customer ran away😂

😂🤣😂🤣your post is exactly why most Americans think of British people as arrogant, pompous, snobs. But keep it up😂on your quaint island.
Oh you poor fool
@@TC-dw6wg That's what I said.....the ONLY people with guns are organised criminal gangs and specialist police. Let's not make them more popular because then we might end up with an astronomical gun homicide rate like the US. Who's the fool? The country with the higher or lower rate?
@@TC-dw6wg Most gangs here use machetes and knives. I for one have never even seen a real firearm (that wasn't in a museum), nor have I heard of one being used in my area that didn't turn out to be a BB gun in my entire life, so no they're not "all over". We know you guys love your guns and that's absolutely fine, they are cool as hell! But don't look down on countries that don't want most of their citizens strapped up. Also, I'd rather fight a guy with a knife than fight a guy with a gun any day lol.
In Iran, the death penalty is administered 100X more per capita than the US, and the people are disarmed / aka defenseless against tyranny...
"serious organized criminal gangs" have guns? so it IS true that criminals will get guns even if they're banned! who could have guessed.

Five Ds for self-defense when attacked by an armed criminal +Plus 1. Distance 1. Deflect 2. Dominate 3. Distract 4. Disarm 5. Disable
The shop keeper knew that if blood had contaminated his shop, he would be closed for a week cleaning up.
The customer - "Sorry" -for interrupting your robbery LMFAO
the chick had more balls than the first dude that came in.
Finally a smart human thank you 🙏
@2:08 Dolphy quizon came in and made it a comedy scene 🤣
Defo the UK when the guy apologises for walking into the robbery.

Brave dude. We need to defend ourselves without the fear of repercussion
That was a riot! 😂
The shop employee is probably charged with assault and possession of a deadly weapon.
The guy in blue made this hilarious 😂. Oops sorry 😂😂
Today, The Canada Government said "Stop sharing pics/videos of criminals online, it goes against their rights", I'm not kidding, this is real.
'Sorry!'....🤣
2:12 the coward in blue runs, 2:45 the woman runs but comes back. Way to set the example of the British man there buddy.

It's great to be an American. We fought-for and kept our natural right to keep & have on us our defensive tools. Pity those Brits. They bent-over. :-P Now look @ that country.
Hey but at least we don't have our kids being murdered in mass shootings at school every week. Yeah it's great to be American 😂
Mr store clerk has BEEEG BALLS! I love happy endings!
The UK just banned a bunch of knives, look for the news story.
Nah, we're good.

sadly it's illegal in the UK and would probably have got the shopkeep arrested and charged.
In that close of a distance, he would have probably gotten stabbed if the guy now blindly just starts thrashing.
"Sorry no key you need to purchase something" lol
UK shop owners don’t need to carry because they have that tough, rigid plastic barrier. Nobody’s getting behind that counter unless they can hop over a 3-foot counter.
This was inmy town Felixstowe, a small seaside town in the South East of England. About an hour away from London.
yes! I love this Do you have any vintage videos? maybe stuff from the 70s or further back? I know old footage is a tall order, But id thought id ask.
No cell phones, no internet, no body cams and store/street cameras were very rare to nonexistent. Personal camcorders didn't even exist.
What purpose would it serve to review antiquated videos that have different laws and circumstances unrelated to current times? lol…
Whenever you walk into a place always always watch what’s going on at the cash register first before you do anything else
We are proud to be without guns in the UK. Thats not fear of freedom
In Brazil we say: better to be judged by one than to be carried by seven....

2:12 You can't get anymore English than that. "Sorry." 😄
yeah right, and then the robber would have had a gun instead of a knife. Are you capable of thought beyond one step?

John you wish the UK allowed guns despite the facts that the U.S. has the 28th-highest rate of deaths from gun violence in the world: 4.31 deaths per 100,000 people in 2023. That was more than 340 times higher than in the United Kingdom, which had 0.013 deaths per 100,000"
Those deaths are from places with extreme gun control. Those death rates are also from illegal guns from repeat offenders. Its a failure of the U.S. penal system, nothing else.

Gotta love the UK. Guy walks in on a robbery and apologises to the thief😅😅😅😅😅😅

Well said. It's honestly tiring to hear the strange logic of arming people with guns to protect themselves. You're just giving guns to the bad guys too.
It's the UK. Clerk will end up being charged with the crime of self-defense.
