There's one American guy who is just a complete weirdo... and he comments on my Japanese and it drives me nuts... but all the Japanese people I've met are just amazing. Lovely people, all!

    So stoked today. Ive completed Course 1 and Course 2. Its not alot, but super proud i learned all Hiragana and Katakana and everything else youve taught. Next week i will begin course 3 and i also bought Kanji from zero.
    Question. How many lessons of Kanji from zero should i learn per week as a beginner? I dont want to rush, but i am very excited to learn. 😅

    Question, if you ask a Japanese person to come over 'about 3 o'clock', will they be at your door at 5 minutes before 3, or does goru allow them to not be so punctual?

    • @Sparkle86Blender
      @Sparkle86Blender 2 года назад +2

      It's a personal matter. Goro only makes the time inexact; it's not supposed to give the person an excuse to be not punctual, although it also makes the sentence a little softer than a command

    • @kdiamond12
      @kdiamond12 3 года назад +3

      @@venomm4563 They're not interchangeable. MOU can be used in many for situations where ATO cannot. Example from Yes Japan website - "ATO is used when are saying "there is only this amount remaining" whereas MOU is often used to say "up to this amount has been used" as in ATO JUPPUN DESU (10 more minutes) if you said MOU JUPPUN DESU it would not mean "10 more minutes" but instead would say that it is "already 10 minutes"."

    The thing with "no koto" is about being more polite and indirect I think. Asking "Do you like me" is a very direct question, which can be considered, well maybe not rude, but not very polite as well. In order to be more polite and innocent one can say "Do you still like about me?", which isn't actually a direct question, it's packed in a box of abstraction, which makes it easier to convey
