I always remember "from now on" when I discuss with people the idea that a message or a statement must not necessarily be expressed in words. Instrumental music speaks as much as words, or even more sometimes...

Hello my friend! I hope you are doing well!
I could not agree more! This song may be an instrumental, but it speaks to me much more than any other songs with vocals. The raw feelings and emotions poured out through each instrument is really just unbelievable. That wave is the only way I can describe it as I really dont think there is really anything more powerful than the ocean.

    • @fremen6013

Very much a lovely statement Mr. Chupin. When i performed long ago, I knew that if I was feeling that deep inner pleasure while hitting strong musical expressions, that I was probably "singing" my instrument...I cannot help but keep quoting Beethoven: "Don't only practice your art, but force your way into its secrets, for it and knowledge can raise men [and women] to the divine." (the music evokes emotion, it is speaking to you)

@@fremen6013 You are absolutely right. Baha'u'llah says, "We, verily, have made music as a ladder for your souls, a means whereby they may
be lifted up unto the realm on high; make it not, therefore, as wings to self and passion. Truly, We are loath to see you numbered with the foolish."
This view of music was natural for the Christians of the past, like Beethoven, but now there are too many insincere people who use music as just a commercial tool.
Many "conservative" people believe that heavy music is "satanic." For me, satanic music is a different thing. If music as such is not important for the people who perform it, but if they perceive it only as an accessory, something which brings them money, or serves their political interests, as in the case of ideological songs in oppressive regimes, or if it's something else of this sort, then it's satanic and becomes "wings to self and passion." Baha'u'llah says that people who employ music to these ends, are foolish, and I fully agree with Him.
Sincere music, on the other hand, will always be a stairway to heaven, "a ladder to the realm on high." Even if it talks about frustration, anger and destruction. These things happen in life, and if we deny them we are lying to ourselves.

Yes for sure there is a lot going on in the backing track that really helps this song shine- keyboards and strings of some sort.
Its amazing how everyone sees different strengths- because the whole band is strong lol! Ryan mear on reacting to this the other day said what enables Kanami to do her stuff was the best rythmn section in the world- and how especially Akane adds a lot more to their sound and what they can do than you realise :)- really holding songs together.
And I know he super values Miku's work too - it's just like I said- EVERYONE in the band Adds so much- so you can legitimately give any member the praise and be right :)
Some songs have certain members stand out more than others but they are all critical- not forgettng Saiki too even tho she's not in this one- she adds as much as any of them.

I havent checked out Ryans video yet, obviously I had to check out the song first myself haha but I am going to check his out sometime soon because I also want to hear what other people hear ^^

There are so many instrumental elements in a simple Band Maid song that are hidden from us by the vocals of Saiki and Miku. I mean, I love female singers and their prowess at blending their voices, harmonizing them. But when I can hear only the performances of each musician, I am completely flabbergasted and impressed by their talent to always seek to blend into their collective in the service of the song while showing their skill without any pretension. Their music brings us tears of joy and touches us deep in our souls. From Now On is composed like a symphony. Mincho is the main author but is assisted by two co-authors who stimulate her in her creation. Miku inserts herself into the interpretation process with the fluidity and skill of a real guitarist. I imagine that she could also participate soon in the composition in the same way as Misa and Akane. I also dream that Saiki can one day accompany them on the synth. God, what an awesome band. I like your idea of the Wave, Schreddawg. Thanks.

    • @Shreddawg

This is very true! BAND-MAID creates some of the most complex songs with a lot of little things in the background that are often missed just because there are so many parts to focus on. Thats why songs stay so fresh no matter how many times you listen to them, you can always find something new. Kanami really is a master at composing songs and as you mentioned, she allows each member to add additional input and add sections to songs after the song is composed. With such talented musicians around Kanami, its no wonder their songs are so great. Each member has the freedom to add their own bit of expression to the song which is something that a lot of bands do not do. I often just sit back and try and imagine how much better BAND-MAID can get in 1-2 years time. They always seem to get better in terms of how complex of things they can play, while at the same time capturing that BAND-MAID "sound" that made everyone fall in love with them in the first place. It really is just insane to think about.

I also saw a channel that completely dismissed Miku and I couldnt believe it. They actually didnt think there was 2 guitarists. Yeah its pretty incredible to consider the actual depth of the song. There are so many components to it. A true masterpiece of a song. Every time I listen to it I feel like I hear something new. The amount of emotion that cries out in this song as well... Its just unbelievable.
