I am actually watching reruns of the show on Fox Sports 2 right now. Konami picked up interesting licenses back then.

That's why I loved old Konami so much. Back in the 90s, they could take ANY license and make a fun experience out if it. Far cry from how they are, nowadays.

The TV show was absolute trash, but this arcade version cut out everything that made the TV show horrible (read: bad and repetitive storylines that didn’t work) and turned into something that’s a hidden arcade gem. Typical Konami standards on display here. It’s very close between Konami and Capcom for best use of licenses in arcade games.
