After seeing the work you have done on this, I'm kicking myself for not picking one up as a project machine a few months back. Great work guys - might have to try hunting one down now.
It's amazing that Steven is rolling the cabinets out and not spraying them by gun. Whatever paint and conditioner he's using looks great! It levels down nice with no hallidays.
A great sleeper game. One of the nice touches on this game, was the random looping of the locked balls, very distracting. And you freaked out "no warning of multi ball!!, oh wait.."
Rollergames was probably the "easiest" of Ritchie's designs, but it really is a heck of a lot of fun and is overlooked. It really makes a great starter pin because it's difficult enough without being punishing. The music is still awesome all these years later. I think for that time period, Black Knight 2000, Swords of Fury, and Rollergames had the best music period. Swords of Fury is another really overlooked pin that is really fun too. I still remember "Go for the Wallllllllll!" twenty four years later....It's been twenty four years since the game came out. **shudder** I'm old.
aside from the High Speed series, Black Knight 2000, F-14 Tomcat and T2, this is one of my most favorite Steve Ritchie pinball games. As for the show, while it was short lived, it did well enough to surpass the ratings for the first season of American Gladiators. As for the game, it was quite fun, and the magnet really did help with scoring big points during Sudden Death mode.
Never knew this table's theme and soundtrack was based on a real TV-show. I've played a real one once in 1996 on a french 3-star campsite near Annecy. It was placed aside a Whirlwind and Dr. Dude and all had French ROMs installed. Later I was able to play the VPinMAME-driven replicas of these tables. This table is known as the 3rd "singing" pinball machine. Good restoration job!
Glad I finally found a video on this game, the skate rink in the town I grew up in had this machine and Terminator 2: Judgement Day. Never knew it was based on a tv show, too young to have watched Roller games.
Interesting! Maybe it is!! Anyone out there know? This would be way before Whitewater though....so maybe a character from this game carried over to WW??
The backbox...first 1`00 had flash lamps, the next batch...not sure how many, but alot, just had holes where the flashers were---they were removed to save $$$, and last batch, no large holes for flash lamps at all. However, the game was still programmed and connector is there...so someone COULD add the flash lamps back in!
Can't be 100% sure about this since we don't see a clear view of it in the video but some Rollergames machines have drop target S-K-A-T-E-S instead of stationary targets.
Unjustly overlooked because the show itself lasted a single season. Not one of Ritchie's immortal designs, but fast flow and good gimmicks, given how little material the actual show gave him to work with.
Any chance you could tell those of us that have an ocean between us and Chicago the secret of the first 100 Rollergames? It would be very expensive for me to find out haha!
Red claw from the left ramp return above the VUK? I've got one of these machines at home (and I'm in the UK) and it's missing that part and I was thinking of making one myself.
Oh, hold on, are you talking about the 5 bank drops for SKATE that was only in the prototype? Been thinking about retrofitting those to mine as I love drops!
TNT Amusements Inc we dont have to pay tax in germany if it is for private use and freight it was a 10min drive maybe 10$ for gas and the game is complete Whit all ramps and plastics and the machine works perfectly no marks or anything playfield in very good shape
I do actually own a pair of rollerblades as I was planning to self-teach myself (as I did with powerbocks) but despite my best efforts I just can't do it.
@@tntamusements I know I'm replying to a 9 year old comment, but I own one of these now! Great fun, though on mine the upper flipper can be kind of enthusiastic and send the ball out the ramp and onto the plastics then down the left outlane sometimes.
Oddly enough, by some random happenstance, I think I know the difference for the first 100, but I don't want to ruin the "surprise," but I am curious if I am on the right track. Is it "target related" -- all I will say :)
awww man I know people in Chicago (dad won't go near because he thinks is the number 1 violent city in the usa smh do'h... much to his old friends dismay (hi rise condos, they don't like it when someone pinballs their city
and I'm sure Terry is great at unboxing :) Tammy is great at.. o_O wow ahem gotta pump Terry up. know how it is being left out... hmmm she was great at holding the camera on some videos. not a word. better than Frank behind the camera :D
The music and female singers just isn't my speed. A friend has one and i could play all I want but is it just too annoying. Ill stick to my Black Night and High Speed.
My first pinball machine. Very fun game and a nice job once again.
Thanks!!
Love every episode of a day at TNT Amusements. So much I will purchase a pin from them! Now to the website!
bertant1 Thanks for commenting!!

These games DO clean up nice!

WARRIOR4CHRIST70 KZ4LIFE The rolling works out so nice we find!
I love the "winners don't uses drugs" on the display. so cool
Ahhhh yes!!
Always wanted to play one of these. Looks like such a fun pin. Cant ever find one anywhere. beautiful work friends
Thank you!
really want one of these. Not only does it look like a lot of fun, but I have great memories of the show
Yes...people want this game now! And folks do remember the show!
A great sleeper game. One of the nice touches on this game, was the random looping of the locked balls, very distracting. And you freaked out "no warning of multi ball!!, oh wait.."
Yes....it was a "new" thing for a pinball machine to do it!! A neat surprise!

I agree wholeheartedly....the good thing is that these machines are getting a second look now with new players!

I would love to know why more people do not have it in their collection!
What a groovy soundtrack. Fab machine!
I remember playing this back in the early 90s and hearing the female voice yell "Go For The Wall"! It was exciting to play.
It remains a fun game!
it was a male voice actually. The female quote just said "don't flip" .Great game but the sound track gets quickly annoying and puts on your nerves.
@@tonerotonero1375 yes, you are correct, it's the male voice that says "go for the wall". Great game.

See---you learn something new every day! It's worth watching our channel!!! :-)

Alex_The_Lawyer We have another one up too...for Rollergames...yes, a one season TV show!!!
8:05 Is that Wet Willie from White Water?
Interesting! Maybe it is!! Anyone out there know? This would be way before Whitewater though....so maybe a character from this game carried over to WW??
I hope to see you in Chicago, Todd!
God willing, I will be there!
So what's the secret of the first hundred? Is it the rails colors? I had one with a yellow horizontal rail.
The backbox...first 1`00 had flash lamps, the next batch...not sure how many, but alot, just had holes where the flashers were---they were removed to save $$$, and last batch, no large holes for flash lamps at all. Todd, you never told us the secret of this Rollergames, what made it special! :)
Can't be 100% sure about this since we don't see a clear view of it in the video but some Rollergames machines have drop target S-K-A-T-E-S instead of stationary targets.

Was this released in 1989 or 1990?
It was June 1990.
@@tntamusements Thanks for clarifying! Now, just looking for a Williams Diner.
Any chance you could tell those of us that have an ocean between us and Chicago the secret of the first 100 Rollergames? It would be very expensive for me to find out haha!
You will ALL find out as we will film it all in Chicago!!!
The first 100 games were a Diamondplate test run weren't they?
The woman, on the back glass, with the the two LED's lighting up her rear end is very distracting, nice!
There is NOTHING on Earth quite like a beautiful woman!!
Steve Richie signed mine right in that spot!

A beaut! Not a great fan of the theme but still looks great!
Thanks Matthew!!
I got one today for 50$ was that a good deal ?
Plus Tax and Freight?

glückwunsch. habe heute 1400 für einen gezahlt. Glück muss man haben.
Funnily enough, the only one of these that's publicly playable in the UK is at an indoor skate park. And I can neither skateboard or rollerblade.
Now, put a Rollerblade on your Christmas wish list!
I do actually own a pair of rollerblades as I was planning to self-teach myself (as I did with powerbocks) but despite my best efforts I just can't do it.

Nope...not target related!
It has to do with the backbox lighting flashing. The earliest units had flashing lights, the later ones did not.
I had a diamond plate one. Hated to part with her. Fun game play.
Yes...a fun game!!
I've been waiting for the Rodney Dangerfield reference.
:-)
The art designer seemed to pay special attention to the "assets" he gave to the girl on the bottom right of backglass ...lol
:-) Pretty Girls are always an "ASSet".....
A buddy of mine has one. The music and singing is just NOT my speed.
