Galvanised metal normally doesn't take a coat of paint without using a mordant solution, just peels off otherwise. You get metal fume fever from welding zinc oxide coated metals, proper protective equipment is a must. Nice job as always, quality work.
A tradesman best friend "the jig". Great job Jimbo 👍. Always fun watching your videos and see the cool stuff you come up with. Hope all is well and as always can't wait to see your next project 👍
Once again great Job...KBC Tools you only hear great recommendations from other RUclipsrs like Half Ass Kustoms and Make It Kustoms to mention, maybe they should be sponsoring you too, like they do for these guys
Definitely keep the fans going. I've been lucky to avoid zinc poisoning from galvanized, but made the mistake of welding brake cleaner before I learned about acetone for cleaning parts. That stuff is easy to ignore until you're vomiting.
Interesting we’ve always been told to clean all the metal down the bear metal before MG welding, but he’s not cleaning anything and been doing it that way for years and doesn’t have any issues!
Do you change your settings when welding different thicknesses on your gates, or do you just manage hand speed to accommodate the material your welding?
You are correct, most people don’t know what steel deck (B deck) is. I’ve been an installer of roof deck and floor deck for over 25 years. It usually comes in 18, 20, and 22 gauge with 22 being most common. 24 gauge has a different profile and requires weld washers when welding it down. What Jimbo used here looked like a slight variation of normal steel (B) deck.
I see you on RUclips, from the city of Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico, and I really admire the way you do things.

I'm sure his persistent throat clearing has nothing to do with Metal Fume Fever. Total coincidence 😉😮💨👍
You only get sick if you breathe it 🤢

Only a few seconds in, but i already hit that like button whenever I see your videos. I know it's gonna be quality content. Keep up the good work
Tot respectul nenea Jimbo! Te salut din Romania! All the best to Jimbo! Greetings from Romania!
Good job, I’ve installed many of this style gates for dumpster enclosures.
I think you’d make a great golf commentator or a commentator in general.
Legal, utilizamos muito esse tipo de chapa aqui no Brasil. Normalmente em espessura de 22 ou 24.
Thanks for showing the installed finish product
👍👍
Another nice build. Great work. 👍
Great Project! Question: Don't you get dangerous gases when you weld galvanized steel? or is some BS I picked somewhere?
Metal Fume Fever. It's not BS. Here's the National Institute of Health (NIH) link on it: www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC9265713/
Yes you can if you breathe the fumes, as long as you have good ventilation you’re fine.
Simple yet effective
Very good job 👏
Great project and video
Great video
Exactly what I need to make

Nice too see you a gain

Czy masz pomysł na bramę przesuwną potrójną w jednym rzędzie bardzo ciekawe projekty

Is that a Diresta Ice Pick?
Excuse me, I have a question. How thick is this sheet metal?
How do you paint where the corrugated sheet metal covers the angle iron?
Magic 😂
How many amps are you using
You’re a concrete contractor as well? Can you show us some concrete how to’s?
Welding galvanised without a mask is a very bad idea!
No, no. Jim's a tough ol' bird. No problem for him 😵💫
That sheet metal is called steel deck/B Deck/concrete deck. It’s usually 22 or 24 gauge. I buy it all the time.

Why don't you show me how to make a screen door?
Not a fan of customers chosen colour but oh well
Could be wrong, but I think we're looking at Red Oxide primer. Not painted yet in closing pictures.
