  • Today I’m drawing cherries with prismacolor colour pencils.
    I started off with drawing a rough sketch with 4H pencil then drew the rest of the drawing with prismacolor pencils by layering colours on top of each other.
    Here's the list of the colours I used.
    PC 1060 20% cool grey for highlights
    PC 929 Pink for base layer
    PC 937 Tuscan red for dark shades
    PC 935 Black for the darkest shades
    PC 938 White to make colours lighter
    PC 924 Crimson Red for mid tones
    PC 1074 French grey for making some shades cooler
    After burnishing, I scratched few bits with x-acto knife to show through the base colour which was pink.
    For leaves
    PC 989 Chartreuse for base layer
    PC 908 Dark green for darker shades
    PC 943 Burnt Ochre for brown bits
    You can always use white to make your colours a bit lighter and black to make them a bit darker.
    Hope that helps

    Hi i have to ask. What sharpener you use for the prismacolor? I hear they very soft and easy to break

    • @AsifRasheedArt
      @AsifRasheedArt  4 года назад

      I got one with Derwent coloured pencils. It's a very ordinary sharpener but I sharp very carefully.

  • @hallelboehler4084
    @hallelboehler4084 4 года назад +4

    amazing! I noticed you used something like paintbrush to create the white points. what is it?

    • @AsifRasheedArt
      @AsifRasheedArt  4 года назад +2

      That's x-acto knife that cuts precise paper but its excellent for the highlights once all the layers of coloured pencils are burnished. It's great for creating highlights in hair or beard.

    • @AsifRasheedArt
      @AsifRasheedArt  4 года назад +1

      It's like scratching the top layers off to show throw the bottom layer which means the first layer should be the lightest colour that you want your highlights to be.

    I keep on pressing too hard so that the paper comes off. Any tips to make it look okay?

    • @AsifRasheedArt
      @AsifRasheedArt  3 года назад

      Do you mean for burnishing you press too hard?
      You have to patient with drawings because you have to put too many layers on top of each other to burnish them in the end.

    What tool did you use to blend the colours ?

    • @AsifRasheedArt
      @AsifRasheedArt  5 лет назад +20

      Safe M I haven’t used any tools to blend. This technique is called burnishing where you put too many layers of different colours on top of each other with light pressure and once you’re satisfied with the final colour, you then press the final colour a bit harder so that it’s nicely blended.
