Oof that's not a good idea lol I do that too though but I'm not trying to be professional If anyone seeing this uses their finger that's not a good idea because the oil on your fingers Will get on the paper and it won't blend as well so if you don't have any good blending materials you could use a white colored pencil or a tissue
Dinosharttt I always thought they were useless before I started being a artist then I became a artist and that’s when I knew that they were not useless
Me: *I'm finally finished!* - shows family - Dad: Wow! Well done you can draw a.... A..... A fish! Me: *Dad! This is not a fish! It's supposed to be an eye..*
I’m honestly so glad to know that other people seemed to get nervous when drawing on the eyelashes. I’ve done before but never in colored pencil. I have work around if I mess up using graphite, and if I’m doing them digitally it’s pretty simple to re-do them.
THANKS!!! It's been 10 yrs since I've touched my colored pencils and just started getting back into it. I'm super rusty and found this exceedingly helpful :)
Oh my god! This video seriously helped so much. I seriously didn't expect to be able to make such a realistic eye! But i went step by step and was able to take the time to really blend and layer/build up colors.
Of course it doesn't look as good as the one in the video but only because i don't practice drawing as much as i should and normally don't use colored pencils often usually just graphite so the fact that it came out so good surprised me. It is rare to find such a helpful drawing video on here since most of the time the person speeds up the footage so it is hard to see what they're doing but this is great!
Thank you for talking in this video. There's a lot of videos on how to draw but they don't talk through and splaining what they're doing and why they're doing it. They just show. Thank you so much.
So I am a experienced graphite artist and I am just breaking into color, would a blending stump be okay to be used as a substitute to the colorless blender?
Brian Weiser Hi Brian, you probably should stick with the colorless blender. Since the blender has the binder in it, it will perform better. The blending stump is likely to not move the pigment at all. I used a white pencil for burnishing for years before using a colorless blender. The white will affect the value a bit but still does a decent job at burnishing the color.
I found you the most soothing instructor thus far! I've been looking at pencil tutorials for days... Your pace is easy, doesn't feel stressful, the background music really lulls...really perfect. THANK YOU, big help. Website is great too
Thanks. What a great tutorial. Instructions all so fluent and well organized. I find it really hard though, how you create something, then seem destroy it with the next addition and then spread the colour, and then again at some later point reconstruct it. Yet all of these steps are so important. Hope to gain the gist with practice. Thanks so much!!
This is a great tutorial , very detailed and easy to follow , I'm gonna give this drawing a shot even though mine won't be even near as good lol , keep up the good work
I have ZERO experience with colored pencils and have always kind of written them off as a tool for doodling or given to kids with coloring books, basically never taken them as a serious medium. So unfortunate for me!! I snagged a large bag of the same prismacolor you’re using here at a thrift store ( about 60-70 brand new!!) for $4.99!! I was also unaware of what their value was and almost walked away from it! So glad I snatched them up… I love em!! In fact, I’m only missing the light peach out of the colors you were using in this video but I have a peach that should work just fine, I believe, with the right amount of pressure and blunting. I had no idea that you could blend these and buttery they are! Absolutely amazing and I now I am curious as to other brands that are popular with colored pencil artists. I’m really enjoying them, I love so many aspects they offer, I really am kicking myself for not taking them seriously for this long! But here, at least I didn’t totally miss out on them and I am enjoying the hell out of them now! Do you have any suggestions for paper? I am primarily a watercolor artist so I have a variety of types, thicknesses, and textures at my disposal currently and really haven’t settled on any single type yet. Any advice would be greatly excepted! Thank you for the great video, from this one and I’ve learned quite a bit! Also, if I don’t have a blender yet, do you have any other suggestions that would be similar? I haven’t fully looked into exactly what a blender is but I am assuming that it is just a clear waxy, buttery burnishing type tool? 🤘💪
I'm literally just using super simple freaking $3 pencils but it is still looking amazing thanks to your tutorial, even though it's harder and doesn't look as good as yours, it goes to show that anyone can draw.
Thank you so much, I did this and it looks amazing. I'm not experienced in drawing much, especially with prismacolors, but the drawing turned out almost as good as yours. :)
This is one of the best videos I have seen in a long time. I particularly like the way you close up to your drawing so we see how you draw, especially the lashes and it seems in real time. Furthermore mentioning which colour you use as you go along is very helpful. Thank you!
More like this please. So easy to follow and it's convinced me to possibly invest in buying a course or two. Much better than those time lapse "tutorials" that some so-called instructors post that teach nothing and trying to follow them is impossible. Thank you.
wow, I'm just 13 years old, my aunt came from Pakistan and showed me how to draw eyes since she took fine arts in college. I use her techniques but they were way too hard to master and need time to master. I tried your way and everything came out perfectly. it doesn't look exactly the same, but very similar. this video helped a lot! you don't even need prisma colors, u can use polychromos which I am using (expensive too). i just need a little more practice on the outside of the iris, it is quite tough for me to make the white part look real.great video, keep it up. definitely liked and suscribed.
Everything about your videos is excellent! Far superior to anything else around. Your talent is amazing, and your voice is beautiful. So many RUclipsrs have speech impediments and worse. But you, you’re the standard others ought to copy. Thank you 🙏
He's using Prismacolours. There is also Polychromes but those are wax whilst Prismacolours are Oil (as far as ik, might be wrong). Both of them are high-quality coloured pencils.
Shannen Canton no it won't ruin any paper. It just has an oily feel whilst the wax has a waxy one. The blending will be better on a drawing paper of any kind tho. I recommend any cheap sketch book AFTER practicing on normal paper. Besides you ought to practice with normal pencils before buying prisma/polychromes. Those are pretty expensive
I really enjoyed your video. You are a great teacher. Just the right speed and tone of your voice. I really appreciate you sharing your talent with us. You super talented.
I've ordered Faber castell polychromos and I'm planning to practice a lot. I'm dreaming to draw a realistic drawing of Conchita! And lots of others. I'm sure they're amazing pencils, so, I'm going to do great effort and make my dream come true. Just one thing - lack of patience... :D Aaaaahhh, how to get over it!?
Akvile Ne that sounds great!! and if you love art then never give up because at first your art might nit be the best but...after time flies it gets awesome!! 😀
hey, so you were using a colorless blender here. I tend to use blending stumps (with a liquid to blend the colors together) What's the difference between blending stumps and colorless blenders? When is it appropriate to use blenders, or to use stumps? Thanks
Fantastic i loved every minute , finally i have found what i have been looking for someone to show and tell me in real time , i will seriously consider joining
Finally... a fucking art video that teaches me art skills I want to learn. It’s either a speed up video or they don’t tell you what to use... thank you!
Wow how beautiful my eye turned out! and that`s all thanks to you because I am not such a great artist! it`s just your wonderful technique step by step and you are really good at explaining what you are doing! Thank you, I appreciate you!
This is a bit late but,you might want to first lightly add colors and then burnish them.DO not use harsh lines because that will make it harder to add more layers of it after it is burnished.
Are all the colored pencils you used Prisma Color (including colorless blender) ? And does the colorless blender come in that kit, or do I need to get that separately?
Wow! With tutorial I actually draw the eye pretty good! I don't have exact colors but I tried with similar colours and It came out pretty realistic!!! I'm glad! Thank u for making this tutorial!! ^w^ :))
I'm still a young artist and still have a lot to learn. I usually get intimidated at using certain colors. If they appear too strong I would panic and don't know how to deal with it. Any advice?
hiii............i am new in sketching but i want to learn how to use colours for sketch and which pencil colour is best for sketch??.......i am confused
I am amazed how you are able to teach so well. I am an artist myself and have tried a variety of youtube videos with step by step instructions to learn new techniques but none have been by far the most helpful as yours. I now have my very own realistic eye all thanks to your video. May others see how well your skills are as i have.:-)
Being a colour blind artist, the labeling of the colors in this video is very helpful and appreciated.
TheSourceOfTheNile Actually, I think if a color blind person makes art the way they see it can make for cool art.
Being a colourblind artist is interesting and I have only just recently started to use colour in my drawings and it’s hard😂😂
Right!!
I think that you can just name the colors that you use, or use the glasess for those with deltonism
Being colorblind might actually be kinda cool whilst coloring, I think that the different colors might be kinda cool depending on how you use em
Him : now we gonna use a colorless blender
My finger : its my time to shine
i used white lmaoo
Lavanderina i just used my white haha
Omg me lol
Oof that's not a good idea lol
I do that too though but I'm not trying to be professional

@@ariannah6023 chill dude its just a meme, not that serious.
I have never seen someone who explains eyelashes this well, honestly.
Me: ^draws this after 4 hours of frustration^
Me: Finally!
Me: Wait, how am I gonna do the left eye?
Me: ^facepalms^
This is the left eye.
+Gothica MG but from the perspective of the observer it is the right eye :D
+Pokeballqueen that's not how anatomy works. it's still the left eye.
+Joel Hartzell i know, but i just wanted to explain why she said left
+Pokeballqueen *right
I knew it, white coloring materials are not useless
Well they aren't they never were..
Bruh white was always useful very useful who said white wasn’t useful u can’t make a drawing Without White
Dinosharttt I always thought they were useless before I started being a artist then I became a artist and that’s when I knew that they were not useless
HHAHA SAME I always said it’s useful for black paper until I began to color my drawings
Till,I was in 2nd or 3rd I also think that white color is a very important part of drawing
I can already tell I'm gonna be crying half way through this...
Same
Me: *I'm finally finished!*

Dad: Wow! Well done you can draw a.... A..... A fish!
Me: *Dad! This is not a fish! It's supposed to be an eye..*
xxPeachyperson xx i mean at least you can draw a fish..

wow haha
Your in love with that dark umber arent ya lol
DJ McGuire and that indigo blue

Awesome! Thanks for the tip! I really love your videos man. Great job.
Brian Weiser Thanks Brian!
+Brian Weiser remember however that the colorless blender will make your colors darker,be careful when using it you might need practice.
+Brian Weiser why am I even replying? xD
I found you the most soothing instructor thus far! I've been looking at pencil tutorials for days... Your pace is easy, doesn't feel stressful, the background music really lulls...really perfect. THANK YOU, big help. Website is great too
OMG I JUST DID THIS AND IT LOOKS AMAZINGG!!! THANK YOU SO SO MUCH :D
Hanx 145 ME TOO

What photo did you get the sketch off because ehe doesn't show drawing the sketch
I'm gonna try this I hope it comes out fantastic!
What brand color pencils did you use?

I used cheap-ass color pencils from Walmart, matching colors as best I could, and it still turned out amazing! Thank you!
I used really expensive ones from faber castell and it is like a nursery drawing
I have the 150 Prismacolor pencil set and I can't wait to try and draw this eye after work.
Extroidinary . You are a master artist and I was mesmerized watching the eye come to life. Thank you for sharing your expertise.
This is one of the best videos I have seen in a long time. I particularly like the way you close up to your drawing so we see how you draw, especially the lashes and it seems in real time. Furthermore mentioning which colour you use as you go along is very helpful. Thank you!

Thank you. Watching you draw has been a source of inspiration
What kind of white pencil he used in 3:00? My white pencil just mix colors together, and I have a white charcoal that I don't know how to use it
Elieder Sousa I'm kinda late but he said earlier in the video he is using prisma color. I think he's using white but not a colorless blender.
Just thank you I wanted a tut sooo bad and you are the only one that make it look a little bit easier
Bought my new prismacolors and couldn't wait to try this out. Worked perfectly, thanks for the tutorial.
what kind of colored pencils do you use? what brands of colorpencils can you suggest for hyperrealism?
He's using Prismacolours. There is also Polychromes but those are wax whilst Prismacolours are Oil (as far as ik, might be wrong). Both of them are high-quality coloured pencils.
+Tharasian oil? would I need a different paper from bondpaper to use it? would it moisten the paper and ruin it or something?
Shannen Canton no it won't ruin any paper. It just has an oily feel whilst the wax has a waxy one. The blending will be better on a drawing paper of any kind tho. I recommend any cheap sketch book AFTER practicing on normal paper.
Besides you ought to practice with normal pencils before buying prisma/polychromes. Those are pretty expensive
Tharasian Prismacolors are wax based. Polychromos are oil based.
THANKS! this is the only video channel I found that tells me what exact colours to use!
That moment when you have nothing similar to " light peach" RIP
Thank you so much, as a developing artist I find it hard to use colored pencils, but after using ur video as a guide I've never drawn better!
I love how the music in the background reminds me of Fran bow
The skin color is very realistic, the result is very nice. You have shared useful information, thank you for your efforts.
Thanks so much. I followed your tutorial (but with the Polychromos pencils) and am so pleased with the result. You're a wonderful teacher. :)
beautiful work! however i find that adding some thin lines that resemble veins to the whites of the eyes makes them look more realistic :)
I did this and it turned out amazing thank you so much I am so proud!!!
I really enjoyed your video. You are a great teacher. Just the right speed and tone of your voice. I really appreciate you sharing your talent with us. You super talented.
That was so fun to watch, I am going to watch it again and try to follow along. Thank you!
Omg i IMPROVED HELLA THANK YOUUU IT TURNED GREAT BETTER THEN MY OLD ONES
This is awesome! I just need the right materials. (Sad face) lol.thanks for the tutorials.
easy to follow, fabulous teacher. I tried with watercolour pencils which blended quite easily. keen to continue practising.
I've ordered Faber castell polychromos and I'm planning to practice a lot. I'm dreaming to draw a realistic drawing of Conchita! And lots of others. When your drawing, do you use a reference picture? The drawing is amazing by the way!
hey, so you were using a colorless blender here. I tend to use blending stumps (with a liquid to blend the colors together) What's the difference between blending stumps and colorless blenders? When is it appropriate to use blenders, or to use stumps? Thanks
the most useful tutorial everrr!! can you please make a tutorial on a full colorful pencil face ?
Clear instructions, beautiful results, thank you
This video is excellent. I was so pleasantly surprised at my finished drawing. I am a beginner and I signed up for your courses after this video.
You really explain the techniques thoroughly. It's Awesome 👌😊. Thank you 😊
Wow I need to get those color pencils they work like magic
where would you get these colors? colored pencils? i don't see them to often in many places
eduardo valdez Prisma Colours the 150 set from Amazon or Ebay
eduardo valdez go to art stores like Michaels that’s where you can get the good art supplies
Try walmart
I got mine from Michaels, but you could probably also get them from Hobby Lobby
You went in such great detail!!! This tutorial was awesome!!!
Fantastic i loved every minute , finally i have found what i have been looking for someone to show and tell me in real time , i will seriously consider joining
Your a great instructor sir!! :) thank you for the tutorial
thanks to this video I finally learned how to draw an eye really well!!!☺ thank you so much for that!!👌
Finally... a fucking art video that teaches me art skills I want to learn. It’s either a speed up video or they don’t tell you what to use... thank you!
Thank you for this video! It really helped me as a beginner colored pencil artist.
Très beau. Je l'ai fait avec 🖍 aquarellable. Merci beaucoup pour le tutoriel ❤
Omg artist needs to make more of these videos they are very helpful thank you
I am just a new learner for color pencil art. And I really find this helpful. Thanks a lot. You earned a new sub here 😁
Wow how beautiful my eye turned out! and that`s all thanks to you because I am not such a great artist! it`s just your wonderful technique step by step and you are really good at explaining what you are doing! Thank you, I appreciate you!
Great tutorial! When I get my full set of Prismas, I'm definitely going to try this :D
i thought you could not add colors after you burnish? but you seem to go over burnished areas multiple times.
Indeed I don't understand it either... Doesn't work for me?
This is a bit late but,you might want to first lightly add colors and then burnish them.DO not use harsh lines because that will make it harder to add more layers of it after it is burnished.
thank you sooo much for this tutorial! I just finished my eye and i am really proud of it 😊
Thankyou sooo much!! I just finished it and it looks great!!!
Colour Pencils are magical!
Light Touches = Bold Lines
Please tell me what brand those are?
Those are Prismacolors
Beautiful! Love it
Can I just use a white color pencil instead of a colorless blender?
Yeah I think so. It may affect the value slightly, but it will do pretty much the same thing.
Thank you :) I will definitely try this out
I am so going to try this once my supplies arrives!
i love your techniques :) and of course your art work.
I love this video, your talent and above all, your accent.
do you need any specific kind of paper?
amazing work
surely gonna try this......
thanks.....
This video is brilliant! I tried it and, while not being as succesful as yours, my eye looks great! Thank you for great instructions! :D
Eye very beautiful. Perfect applause 👏👏👏👏😚😚
I love your vids i have never used prisma and there great i didnt know how but your videos took me step by step not to fast or to slow.😁
WOW Nice Job! I did this and it looks like 🤩🤩🤩
Are all the colored pencils you used Prisma Color (including colorless blender) ? And does the colorless blender come in that kit, or do I need to get that separately?
Wow! With tutorial I actually draw the eye pretty good! I don't have exact colors but I tried with similar colours and It came out pretty realistic!!! I'm glad! Thank u for making this tutorial!! ^w^ :))
very good in explaining coloring and layering. i do wish you went into a bit more depth in drawing the outlines and how to keep it proportional
Holy crap. It actually works!
It is more than useful! I've done my first realistic eye, I'm satisfied! just thank you very much!!!
Wowww it's amazing!! I like it 😍😍😍
hi ^^ what kind of paper do u use ? It's hard for me to mix colors . please give me an advice ._.
Mila İrem Aydın toned tan by strathmore is good
Daniel ! Thanks a lot ❤
Hi. I do not have a colorless blend we buy I Have prisma colors. What is a replacement for a colorless blender?
White, but it will slightly lighten the colors.
what are the materials needed here? is it really colour pencil? what is that graphite thingy?
Wow this is so precise omg
I'm still a young artist and still have a lot to learn. I usually get intimidated at using certain colors. If they appear too strong I would panic and don't know how to deal with it. Any advice?
this is sooo real :O I enjoyed watching this highly informative vid ^^
You're a brilliant teacher, I learnt a lot! Thank you!
thankyou this helped me do my art homework and hopefully i will get a good mark
Sir what color pencils you were using are called pencils and what brand of pencils are they and can I get them in India?
hiii............i am new in sketching but i want to learn how to use colours for sketch and which pencil colour is best for sketch??.......i am confused
In substitution for the colorless blender, can I just use a white prismacolor pencil?
I am amazed how you are able to teach so well. I am an artist myself and have tried a variety of youtube videos with step by step instructions to learn new techniques but none have been by far the most helpful as yours. I now have my very own realistic eye all thanks to your video. May others see how well your skills are as i have.:-)
