Oh, that's not Dan! That's some other guy and they used EQ Match to make him SOUND like Dan.
Wtf, I've had Pro-Q 3 for over a year and I'm only now learning about this feature

Such a powerful plugin!
Great tutorial, specially the part where you use the good parts of the brass from the same track to set right the bad part!
You will definitely become the top 1 who makes cracks

Thanks for this video guys but could you fix the full screen glitch on ipad pro 10.5? Cause once we get to full screen, as the right part goes out of screen, we can't leave the plugin. We have to close auria and restart it. Thanks.
Thank you !
Wauw damn! Thanx!!!!!
Thanks for the tutorial but also thank you for introducing me to Humbar lol. They're awesome!
i am addicted to pro q2
The eq match makes my audio loud and distorted. Im sure im not doing something right but ive tried everything and theres nothing online to help. Tried Volume matching etc but its not working for some reason.
How does this compare with Mfreeform EQ which has a match EQ on it ?
my go to 😚
wow the sound is so present, how do you do that?
It's the best
might be a good idea to make this work in M/S mode. Perhaps add a dynamic EQ feature to this plugin, or make pro MB able to work on more narrow bands.
@unnamed They probably would have done it anyway though considering how popular dynamic eq has become. :P
Hello, Could you do the Eq matching in Cubase direct offline processing ?
I have had the hardest ti finding a video on soft that actually made sense to (I'm brand new with literally zero knowledge) and tNice tutorials
GOD!!!My broo
in logic you can drag an audio file unto the plug and then match whatever you original track is you want to change to it, whats up?
Question to the FF experts: Referring to your derived EQ examples (e.g. AC/DC, Winehouse, etc.), where those saves spectrums from mastered audio? Is there anything special that needs to be performed when acquiring a spectrum from already-mastered (loud) audio and EQ-matching to unmastered (quiet) audio? In the DAW, should the mastered audio be brought down to a similar level of the unmastered audio and THEN acquire the spectrum? Thanks for any help!
2 years and zero answers? ill hep you, it cant do it, simple, dont waste your money, get a {K} and see first
i havent a reference button, can anybody help to make a sidechain on Ableton live version 8.4.2
Is the EQ Matching process here the same for Pro-Q 3? I can't find any PQ3 vids on the subject?
Useful and interesting. Tx.
I must say that despite Pro-Q being one of the best plugins ever, the EQ match process is ridiculously unintuitive and I always get it wrong. The intuitive method would be to prompt the user to 1. play the unprocessed audio that Pro-Q should process and 2. play the processed audio you want Pro-Q to recreate and (or vice versa). Most of the time I end up with an inverse curve or a completely bananas curve because I don't understand which order things should be done. The EQ match function must've been written by someone not involved with anything else in the plugin because it is just awful.
The key really is to have the reference track going as a sidechain input into Pro-Q(ext in), hitting record will then show the difference as a curve.
@@ssuperfourahh this is gonna help me later thanks!
o melhor
the vocals be like "now the gaaain have changed" :D:D:D
i followed all these steps but when you are using sample that you have imported the program just bugs up.
No idea why but I have such a hard time wrapping my head around this. Which plugin gets the side chain button? The one I want the "bad" track to sound like, or the "bad" track?
the bad track
Please make a video about different phase mode EQ
I think they already did. It's an earlier one.
4:42 phase cancellation may be what i've experienced then with clicking/popping noises.
Did anyone feel he was consistently wrong about which sound was better? He said the drums sounded more "balanced," but they sounded better in the first example. And even more bizarrely, that first baritone saxophone was vastly superior.
Can anyone suggest software which allows the user to match the eq in realtime rather than capturing short snapshots like here? I'm looking for a way of exactly matching a reference track's many treble/mid/bass changes as they happen? Any advice would be great thanks :)
Harbal is a good software program. But when you try to match the eq of another person's song, it may not work & the results may be unpleasant for you. The program is very good & has many qualities. If you do want to, or try match eq, try to find something in the same genere a close as possible.
Did you find an answer?
How does this for vocal
Name of the band / songs? I'm digging the music !
i believe at the 38 second mark he names the band: renegade brass band (unless thats just a descriptive remark of the music itself)
Oh I found it out already the band's name is "Humbar", definetly check them out. Thanks for the reply however ; ).
The match button is not avaible for click on adobe audition 🤔
Why in the world would you use Adobe Audition when Reaper is available for free.
Great stuff - only wish you would turn down the background music a few db's

THE FRUIT HAS SPOKEN
This is getting me nowhere even close to the original EQ curve I'm wanting to replicate.
What happens if you do this in multiple instances until the curve is perfectly matched? Would be interesting to hear even tho I’m sure it would fuck with it so much lol
I did this, it helps catch some more detail the initial match ran out of bands for. There's no reason not too aside from more cpu usage I guess.
I'm not even sure how you'd make that work unless you can make the plugin analyze the original audio and the render and another etc
Is there a discount for owners of Pro Q original?
yup
could you please tell me how to get that discount?
You get it automatically in the FabFilter webshop. Depending on how many products you bought you get incremental discounts.
I wish its get work
+sub
I an like if you make it on there
Do i wanna learn to use soft soft? Yes.
soft once you've gone beyond the soft length accidentally. i'm tempted to do everytNice tutorialng in the sa step sequencer rather than
god bless u xdd
Thanks for the video, but can someone please please explain to me when you should use the Input vs Side Chain as reference? First of all, "reference", that means the wanted sound that the EQ changes in the plugin will try to sound like, is that correct? I have commercial song A, and I want my own song B to sound like it. I put Pro-Q 2 on song B track, and route song A from another track into the plugin. It will build up a reference spectrum of song A, and create bands to make song B sound like it. Correct?
But when do I choose "input"? I can understand at least one use: i want to sample a spectrum of a song I like, and be able to use this reference spectrum on other songs. I analyze it and save it to use on other songs in the future. But what else? You can choose between 3 options: (Reference), Input and Side Chain. What does (Reference) actually mean? I don't understand the saxophone example!
Is it that when it says (Reference), the plugin is in "record mode"? It will listen to the signal on the track, and analyze that spectrum. Now, the "sound" of what you are trying to change, or rather the frequency spectrum of it is captured. Then, you can choose to what that sampled spectrum should be changed to sound like, and you can choose between "Input", which will listen to what is on the same track, for example another recording of the sax, and the plugin will create bands to make your first sound sound like the one analyzed from "Input". You can also choose to use the side chain input as the reference. Sorry, I watched another tutorial which used terms that confused me, and also the terms in the plugin confuses me.
Have I understood this correctly now??
If you want to exaggerate some qualities of the sound, or, opposite, to reduce some resonances and peaks, this function is extremely useful.
and it softs like a normal honest opinion. I get that so of you are joking, but could you please let it be. I
I am
Goid Tut. But music way too loud.
cant understand the voice.
dude you look like jack manifold
Anthony Angel first of all, I said no homo. Second, I didn’t understand how that softed gay at that ti and I still don’t understand how it
hahahaha
...
Love your work Fab Filter but THAT is one noisy, aurally busy video. Logic Pro's EQ Match is far easier to use.
Turn the fing music down on your videos
