Ikr? A few months ago i started talking to this girl. From the get go there was explicit romantic intent, so somehow the topic of "the one" came up, she said "there is no 'right person', you make things right." And i said, "yeah, i agree. But at the same time, there has to some baseline level of compatibility (...)" And she was like "yeah, i guess." I took it as her not wanting to continue on the topic and just agreeing to disagree. Then she told me she was religious, and we talked about that in the context of dating, and she told me she could tell I wasn't (religious) as i had expressed some liberal ideas, and then she said "can we not talk about that now?" Again, i respected it and saw it as her trying to be respectful of our differences.
But as we talked more and more, i find out that nah, she's just like that. She doesn't have a position or opinion about anything, she doesn't find anything interesting, she doesn't have and never had any hobbies. The only thing she does in her spare time is watch movies/series, hangout with friends, and of course - our generation's signature mark - stay on her phone on social media. And even on social media, she only really uses WhatsApp.
It's like there is a whole world around them and these people don't even notice it. It's like they've never heard of logic, and critical thinking, and just *mere* curiosity.
I've found there's that phenomenon, and also the phenomenon of people *with* opinions, who you *can* have relatively deep conversations with, but they're very unwilling to change the opinions they already carry. It's like they believe themselves to be Lords of The Absolute Unquestionable Truths, and they resort to fallacies, flawed analogies, and even religious principles (when they otherwise show no indication of being religious lol) to justify their opinions. And there's people with opinions which were clearly spoonfed to them by their parents in their childhood, and affirm them to this day abd have never thought of questioning it.
I don't know which of these is wrong.
And also, mind you, I'm not trying to antagonize those people or come off as an almighty intellectual chad myself, i do very much try to check myself and my thinking patterns/beliefs to see make sure I'm not falling for any of the above mistakes, but as I'm imperfect it's very likely that i, too, have done it at some point.

because most people have social anxiety that everyone would rather ridicule instead of actually trying to help the people with it and fix the issues in the world that give people social anxiety in the first place.

This is controversial and long, sorry, but parents who homeschool are literally teachers that feel their children's teachers should get paid less. Some homeschooling is done very badly of course, but some is done very well. Teachers do deserve good pay and they have a hard job and can make a positive difference in kids lives. But parents that homeschool their kids do that because they want their kids to turn out well and it's worth more to them than money.
Also I think teachers should get more help from parents if that would lighten the load for them to be active in their own children's lives. It's not supposed to completely be your job to raise them. You can pay only so much attention to each student and you only see them for a short part of their school career.

To take his side a little, I like spaghetti & parmesan cheese because I like the taste of spaghetti and parmesan cheese, there doesn't necessarily have to be reasoning behind it. I'm an event coordinator and I like events because they're interesting and exciting but I can't really provide a reason why I enjoy them and think sports is boring except for personal preference.
I had a similar conversation with an ENTP, I don't know if you know much about Myers-Briggs types or the cognitive functions, but ENTPs and ESTPs have low "introverted feeling" which is basically subjective feelings or values that are important to you personally. So those types are confused at the idea of someone liking something just because they like it and they think they need to have a reason.
Always hit them with the "what kind of pizza you like" you could find out sooo much about someone. Found out my boss couldnt eat pork or any meat, how my coworker could eat an entire large on his own and how he has many siblings. So much you could learn from that one topic. Even found out someone who cant eat pizza and doesnt like it.... but will kill for bbq chicken pizza.

I mainly like just class cheese. Sometimes I may add Chicken, green peppers, broccoli, and even pickles. I don't like flat cruncicrust, I like a crust that is thick and fluffy. Got on a date recently with an asian girl currently in business school. Asked what she liked in general, she replied "eeuuu-- I didn't expect that question..". She wasn't shy, she had no interest in life. She wasn't sad about it neither. She was just like... a plant ? Only thing she was doing is partying with her friends multiple times a week. But drinking alcohol excessively isn't a personality once you're 23.
Music, books, nature, economy, foreign countries, movies... all of this wasn't existing in her world. It's almost tragic.

But I feel like this is more of a representation of talking to people on dating apps. There is the option to just drop out of the conversation if you don't want to talk, but some insist on carrying on the conversation with boring non-answers anyway. They want to talk, they don't want to put in the effort.

At this point I really feel like creators are genuinely being held hostage by their contracts. There's _no way_ they don't know about Betterhelp's controversies by now.
*_edit_*_ - I get that a lot of you have never heard of Betterhelp's problems either, but there's a big difference between a viewer not knowing about a bad sponsor, and a creator not knowing about a bad sponser_ that they've accepted payment to endorse.
Unfortunately, even if he DOES know you’re probably right. He likely has a specific amount of videos he needs to do before dropping them.
There are still likely some who don't, especially since I've seen a few creators taking on new contracts from them. It's easier to miss things than we think, especially since a lot of creators don't go on social media much outside of their job
Yeah I found out about the controversies from a mrwhosetheboss fail video and I find it terrible that people could be so sick and that people could still sponsor that sickness. I won't hold that against Daniel though unless it continues for a certain amount of time.

It's a bit awkward to have to peddle a service that regularly gets backlash, sure. Betterhelp sponsor deals are incredibly lucrative for creators with large audiences though, since the commission from affiliate links is nothing to sneeze at.
It's not like every therapist or counselor on the app is terrible either, so a lot of youtubers who proclaim to have positive experiences using it are probably telling the truth. A weirdo statistic is inevitable with this kind of contracting app. Hopefully they have some sort of system to report bad practitioners, and some way to get at least some of the money spent back since it's a pretty expensive service.
The data collection is a bit questionable though. I think they make enough money to not fucking do that.

I find this EXTREMELY relatable on both ends; I lack any personality to keep a conversation going, but so does everyone else around me…
I'm just guessing (I could be completely wrong) you might like deep conversations and don't like small talk. If I'm right there's a lot of small talk and you don't lack personality if you don't enjoy that, but unfortunately it's difficult to organically start a deep conversation and most people aren't going to be interested in the same topic or they don't see it as the right time.
had several conversations like this. i eventually gave up after a few weeks. later the other person said that they love people who actively try to engage with them and arent standoff-ish with them.

Some people are drained or actively dislike the type of shallow conversation they have with surface level aquaintances. And then sometimes you just want to talk about a certain story or topic you can discuss with your friend but not some other person.
Like, that's not that different for you either, or is it? Or do you always feel like having every type of conversation with every type of person? No, there are always preferences. Why can't you accept that other people have preferences you might not inherently understand?

@@TotallyNothing1 instead of begging for followers, how about you actually make an effort and genuinely share your interests through videos? Professional camera or not, it doesn't take an expensive camera to make an actual good video, although it would help, you only need a phone camera to record, and confidence. Work and effort will pay off.
It's even worse when your the person being talked to and instead of them asking a normal question like "how's your day been?", they say the weirdest crap out of nowhere and you have no idea how to respond (mainly if it's a stranger).

Agreed. Honestly we all need to stop taking treating these ads as legitimate. It's just youtubers getting the bag, which I'm fine with, but any decent product wouldn't have to shill through youtubers and throw big "discounts" at you to get you to buy. It's also a million times better than having the ad play in the middle of the video. let the people enjoy their ad-payment, as long as they don't promote something harmful. I personaly just don't watch the ads, but some gyus out there produce very entertaining ads in their videos, you can't be mad at that kind of passion.

@@angelcrush3320 the problem with betterhelp is they sell private user information, have multiple lawsuits against them and take advantage of vulnerable people by providing a poor quality service for a premium price
This is why I don't bother talking to people anymore. If after one question they don't give me at least a sentence and a follow up question, I just straight up ignore them. Communicating shouldn't be a chore, it's something it should happen naturally, with no effort.

Literally 99% of people I try to have an in depth conversation with. I send a paragraph and they somehow find a way to send negative amounts of words. Sometimes people even have the audacity to tell me I say way too much lol. Idk I guess most people just don’t wanna connect with anyone these days :/

Teachers should be paid based on the performance of their students. If their students are failing, they get minimum wage.

@@AlyssMa7rin In an ideal world, that might be a decent system. The only issue is that there’s currently too many ways that could be influenced and even abused.
Teachers (and their assistants if they have them) usually do most grading for their students. Even in college, professors will curve test scores and perform all sorts of grade gymnastics just so that the university doesn’t start wondering why so many students are passing/failing.
And of course, there are those teacher who, regardless of how their aptitude for the job, are hated by their students. Disgruntled students might go out of their way to try to hurt the teacher’s paycheck.
Then there’s neurodivergence and learning disorders. It’d kinda suck to get a pay cut because of something neither you nor your student could really do anything about.
Another thing that's annoying is people who dominate the convo, barely let you talk, only talk about themselves and never ask you anything about yourself. To be clear, not the guy in this video, he's actually curious about the other person.
