- Episode 3 • Making Front Floors & Rear Airfoil
In this video, we continue fabrication on Denny's 69 Chevrolet Corvair. Mark makes some custom front floors, and then Scott cuts open the side of the car starting the rear airfoil that'll feed air to the rear-mounted radiator. This car will be getting a brand new Nelson Racing twin-turbo LS V8 and it'll be moved up front. This car will sit on a custom Roadster Shop chassis with massive 6-piston Brembo brakes. It'll also be getting tons of metal fabrication, custom interior, custom wheels, and so much more. Make sure to follow this build closely, it'll be a wild one!

This is a perfect example of how sometimes a rendering and real-world application conflict. I find this really interesting. Thank you.
you guys are beyond genius!!! WAY beyond!!
Total professional shop.
One thing I've learned in my own home shop is to keep it clean and organized. That environment puts me in a frame of mind to do a good job.
I know, things get scattered when you're working. I just make it a point to pick up and clean up every day. Just makes the next day start better.
This is shaping up to be EXACTLY 💯 what a CORVAIR SHOULD BE!! This year of it is the best looking body and deserves to be a LEGEND..😎👍🇺🇸
If you like this Corvair,, check out David Gunnars from Sweden fresh Corvair-build with an Audi Rs6 engine in the back
Great artist
That 80's freestyle BMX bike collection is freaking legit!!!
This is just Pure Art!! At the hands of craftsmanship.
That's gonna be the most wicked corvair on the planet
Scott and i know a guy that has been building a super touring Corvair with a lamborghini engine in the rear.
@@taylor_imaging wow
If you like wicked Corvairs,, check out David Gunnars from Sweden new fresh Corvair-build with an Audi Rs6 engine in the back 😊🇸🇪🇸🇪
I’m loving this build. I wanna thank the cameraman for all his hard work, and the fabricators too
This is how all car series shows should be educational.I could watch this all day
Without the noise.(music)
you guys are the preeminent design-build visionaries. Better than Ring Bros., best 'o the best
High praise, we're fortunate to have gotten to know Jim and Mike over the years at shows, and they're great friends. Their work has inspired everyone in our shop for years.
For that side vent to allow air flow to the engine. I would have just cut the top, bottom & by the rear wheel well. Leave the side by the door intact. Bend the metal inward, then add fabricated pieces to it for the finished look.
The tv show didn’t do justice to the shop and employee skill level. Made them look more like cake decorators. Awesome work, get it up!!!
LUCKY, turning the Corvair into a "Corv - Air" Looking awesome I must say.
Damn, this thing is going to be the sickest corvair ever built!
This is my favorite build ive seen you guys do and kingpin was an extremely high bar! Love your guys work so much!
This is going to be one of the 7 wonders of the world
I am new to this channel. Love the Corsair build concept but especially appreciate the skill, craftsmanship and the amalgamation of form and function. These guys rock.
@1:00 😂😂😭 I’ll watch some metal cutting videos from CCS any day🤘
🤣
Love the Corvair!
I am LOVING this build. 😍
Great job all involved...👍
Scott, I like that idea of yours to channel the body, my only concern is getting air to cool the back brakes. As you were talking, you mentioned something about racing this vehicle, and depending on what size tires you run with, that's going to heat up those brakes. How about splitting that piece inside the wheel hub/cavity and screening it with a brake duct? Just a thought, like doing this is not hard enough, hehehe. Good work so far guys!
Nice build. FWIW: Good idea to block off the diff to keep the grinding trash out.
Lookin' good , It may never get rained on or heavily washed being a show car , but water drainage is gonna be paramount in the radiator plenum, especially as it is acting as a firewall too... The back deck lid should be interesting . Great work, Looking forward to the build videos ....
This car is just amazing
Such a cool build & some crazy ideas.
С удовольствием смотрю за работай Мастеров-волшебников! 🤝
Loving this build , just like every other CCS build 🙂
An Audi R8 'blade' is the way to go for the side scoops in my opinion 🙂
Outrageous build 😎 coolest Corvair ever 👍
Killer work fellas! Love the build and the videos you guys out out!
Sir this car is truly bad ass 👍
Awesome work!
I just found this channel, it’s very interesting and informative, professional. I am going through all of your videos 😊
gonna be SICK!!!!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I thought Kingpin was next level..now this.
I Love those rims !!!!!!!
Another cool video ... gotta love it ...
Glad you enjoyed it
Badass. Might want to put some turning vanes where the air from the 2 sides meet, for when the car is in traffic. Keep the static pressure down.
I enjoy the Video"s I have watched so far, very good information in them.
Glad you like them!
It looks great but I would extend the outer scoop edge to better tunnel the air and also cover the interior tunnel somewhat.
Great build going on.. Why not start the internal curve in the door, bit like Ferrari does.. Or possibly split the rad into 2 at the inlet then vent the air down under car or across trunk floor and vent out discreetly behind rear bumper/valance.. going to be a cool build which ever way you go.. Well done guys, loving the coverage and lack of drama..
These are some of the most highly skilled metalsmiths and designers in the business, someone send this episode to " BAD CHAD", maybe he can learn something about real skill, and what true greatness looks like, since he's butchering a 34 Dodge
Mucho bueno amigos loved
start the air intakes further forward, indenting the doors' trailing edge.
WOW!
I reckon instead of rolling the rear quarter in for the radiator you could do some big louver slots maybe 3 would look cool
N8R H8R. If you know, you know. hahaha! Love this freakin' build. Hoping you guys stick to the Yenko color scheme. White with blue stripes would be true homage but anything you guys do will be badass. That ram air is fucking sick!
Scott’s a comedian
Keren full👍👍
Did I hear Scott say Carbon fibre on the body ?!!! If it ain’t steel it ain’t real. 🏴
What about road debris going in those side scoops
Will the air affect the performance of the car? Will it cause drag?
Jeg kjøper verksted til onkel john ❤
I'm not so sure about those air intakes for the radiator. Somehow it seems too "boxy".
Wish you would have sectioned 4” out behind the door trailing edge.
Curious about the clearance for the side windows and air ducts. Will the windows operate fully?
The rear quarter glass won’t roll down.
Going to have it done before SEMA?
A 2” chop would have been nice.
👍🏼👍🏼
What will you do for the side window?
It’ll be a fixed rear window.
What kind of rims?
What about the window
The rear quarter glass will stay permanently up.
you have so many commercials now - it can't be enjoyed , I'm unsubscribed
I've never seen one of these cars that looks cool.... you may be the first 😎😎
All hail the algorithm!!!!
Make sure you turn on notifications! 😘
A junk car , Made a máster piece of the custom AND bad azz resto mods 👍🏼
I am sure this car ended cost at least 100k
Love these Corvairs! Chevrolet should bring it back... My opinion anyhow. 🇺🇲🪖🪓
