I got mine on Friday and it took 4 hours to build. It was probably due to the fact this is the first Arcade1Up I’ve ever built and that I built it in the worlds smallest room but it was totally worth the 4 hours in my opinion
Yeah, it definitely took longer than previous cabs, but the build quality feels far more sturdy than previous models, so all around it’s great in that regard despite the build time
Just assembled and took me 4 1/2 hours. This is my 1st and probably last time I build one of these lol. But I know my family will absolutely love it! The screen isn't terrible but do agree that if you're watching someone else, it washes. I also would have preferred the coin display be something like chromium or metallic. The plastic seems cheap but still offers a nice esthetic. Got mine on sale for $250
Great job man! Hoping to have mine tomorrow. The screens in these are so much worse than the wave 1 screens. It's such a shame because the cabinets are awesome outside of that
Yeah, for the 3/4 cabinets, I love the size of this and the look of it. Everything outside of the screen is top tier, if this had the same monitor as the previous waves, this would be near perfect
I got mine on Christmas, played for about 3 minutes, turned it off to go get a drink, aaaaaaaand then it would not boot up. The marquee was lighting up, but no sign of life from the screen. We ended up going back to Best Buy, returning it, and getting a new one shipped to us, it arrived on Thursday, and so far, I love it!(Also, it’s pronounced galaga(gal-u-guh)
@@Mrlostmoniker The whole ordeal was just upsetting to me, because I had been wanting an arcade machine for a long time, but luckily, I got a new arcade machine, and I love to play Pac-Man for hours on end! So yeah, it turned out ok in the end!
@@That1str1ker Yeah, I've had issues with the first generation of one ups, namely the MK2, I bought it, set it up, and it didn't powerup. At that time I think they were getting rid of their stock, so I couldn't get a return, It worked out for the best though I ended up getting Marvel Superheroes instead. Glad your situation worked out!
Great review... However, #19kfox did a monitor swap, and the picture is still washed out where 19kfox sold the cab! I still want the cab, but I will wait for a sale that falls under 299.99 price point!
I just ordered mine at 300 from Best Buy, today. I agree. 300 is a great way to offset the cost of replacing the terrible, nasty monitor with a decent BOE Dell monitor. Even if you don't, at least the 16:9, portrait mode TN monitor looks a little better than the 5:4 landscape TN, like what's in the Centipede Legacy cab. Thanks for doing this.
@@peterlongjg Yes, it does have the fast Pac Man, and the fast Galaga fire. Just go into the settings for each of the games, and select the settings you want. :)
I believe it is worth it if you really love Pac-Man. One thing I wish it had is Ms Pac-Man and Pac-Man Jr. However, it is a lot of fun and has many other popular retro games such as Dig Dug and Galaga.
Pac-Land and Pac-Mania should've used the Japanese roms, since the former's player sprites looks like Pac-Man's official artwork while the latter lets you select the Jungly Steps.
PAC-land, yeah sure PAC-MANIA, not too sure on that one.. not the biggest fan of the Japanese version missing the level select and overall just slowing down the speed.
Received mine about 2 months ago. I love it, however there is one very irritating thing about this cabinet is that I have not found out how to reset without powering off and back on. If anyone can tell me how to reset without powering off please let me know greatly appreciated! TIA
I’d update it, as I recall the most recent update allows you to use the Live button to leave games - otherwise if you hold down Player 1 long enough it should reset
@@Mrlostmoniker Thanks for Reply ,as have no clue I take its in the settings to update when start up will see if i can sort it as i thought it was odd having to switch machine off to select a game each time ,as i bought it from being in storage for 1 year ,Many thanks
@@Mrlostmoniker Hi mate i Believe you can add extra games with an arcade box to arcade 1 up , do you have to change the control panel as that looks a bit tricky. cheers mate
@@paintitblackblack9910 there should be a settings option that you can set up WiFi in (I believe you just press the Live button when you're in the main menu on the game selection), I believe once you connect it to Wifi, it'll ask if you want to update, once that's done, the Live button will work as a pause function when you're in game
I wish I could get OutRun Arcade1Up with the sitting arcade machine for my Christmas present for Christmas, my Three Kings Day present for Three Kings Day or my birthday present for my birthday.
I wanted that cabinet too, but unfortunately I doubt I have enough space for that in my game room, and I haven't seen much in the way of the stand up unit where I'm at
Unless A1Up was to use the more superior BOE monitors as they do with the Pac-Man and Ms. Pac-Man Legacy Cabinets instead of the inferior and awful TN monitors which many people complained about, then it's a big NO for me.
Yeah to me it’s relative to cost, I agree the BOE monitor would have been far better, but at $300 Canadian it isn’t a deal breaker - had I spent full price that may have been a different story
