    its definately a IC from MPS, marked "GC" but i cant find the specific one.
    could be a MP2386, MP2329, MP2384 or the CCM version of either..
    they all share about the same specs and have the right qfn-11 pinout

    • @gamerpaddy
      @gamerpaddy 6 часов назад +12

      i would fit a MP2329GG, i compared them all, they all have the same requirement and specs like Ref voltage, frequency etc. but the 2329 has the best (lowest RDSon, highest current) internal mosfet of all

      This attribution by gamerpaddy appears to be correct, as the 11 pin pinout on the bottom of the chip appears to be very distinctive and restricted to a family of adjustable voltage regulators by MPS (the package type, 11-VQFN, doesn't have that many examples) Unfortunately none of these parts have 322 in them, due to Asus meddling likely. A close examination of the various datasheets for these parts, and pinpointing the role of the chip (which voltage rail it is regulating), and measurement of the adjoining parts could get you over the finish line, I think.

    I have an Asus ROG laptop from 2012 in my collection, and I use and abuse it since new. I have been trying to make it fail for 12 years, without any success. I guess it just wants to live. 32GB RAM, (4 modules) upgraded GPU and CPU, and it still ROCKS.

      True if you don't clean them. Acer is fine...my Asus died within 1 week of purchase back in 2023...and that is actually how I found this channel. Red board Asus laptops are notorious for these problems.

      @@danielphillips1171 Gaming laptops generate heat. They stress the mosfets due to amperage being drawn. Cleaning lLaptop fans and even replacing thermal paste is not going fix a massive amount of heat being generated in a confined space. With gaming desktops, you have better ventilation and separate GPU, motherboards and CPUs. With laptops everything is soldered in except perhaps the memory.

    What google showed.
    Graphics Core Next (GCN) is the codename for a series of microarchitectures and an instruction set architecture that were developed by AMD for its GPUs as the successor to its TeraScale microarchitecture. The first product featuring GCN was launched on January 9, 2012.

    I refer youtube laptop reviewers to your channel when they push ASUS laptops with abandon. All reviewers I have chatted with say no such thing as reliability in laptops, they say they all fail. wow. I always ask them if they would buy a car without researching reliability ? some care are MORE reliable generally. same with laptops. I have never had an Acer laptop fail on and have had 4. I have had many Hondas, Acuras, Toyotas and Lexus. not one fail.

    Could the GCN chip be tied to Graphics Core Next, an AMD developed chip for graphics card? Should match if the Laptop is a G14 powered by a Ryzen 9 card ? (Do not think the RX6800 series uses GCN, but this is just a hunch, not facts).
    See if you have any donor AMD/ATI cards with that chip on it?

    My honest opinion: The people you have simply don't provide proper service (removing the dust from the laptop!). They use the laptop but don't use a separate cooler, and then you end up with this result! My last Asus laptop was from 2021 with an RTX 3080 and a VBIOS with increased clock speeds. I never had any problems and played video games on it every day! I cleaned the laptop every 3 months, and it still works without any issues to this day

Manufactures who want to keep their quality name should be using reputable parts. Yes I expect some devices with be application specific but label them so
