Wear safety glasses. You can't replace your eyesight.
for real, if i was doing stuff like this every day, i would have safety glasses on
I had a 9mm end mill blow up in my face when I was fat fingering the jog wheel. Wasn't wearing glasses, luckily the shrapnel only hit my forehead.
23:40 explosion moment. I hope youre okay man ❤
That takes me back about 40 years when working in a TV/video service workshop. Having replaced a 63V electrolytic in a TV and working close to the board checking voltages on the powered circuit, the cap exploded close to my face! - fortunately no harm done ecept for some ringng in my ears. Examining the remains of the device more closely afterwards I could see a faint 'dot' - it was a 6.3V not 63V cap which had ended up in the wrong drawer by mistake💥 Be safe .............
Always wear eye protection alex
take care of yourself!
Close call!!
Once one hit me on the forehead and left a black ring, I always use pieces of sheet metal to insulate the capacitors after that. ,be careful please
Bench fee doesn't make it "win/win". But it keeps you from taking a risk on "win/lose".
Touch wood, you are fine.
yep shippin was pretty quick, shipped same day... and I got real flux
Everytime I watch you, it is awesome to watch a Master @ work. I have a motherboard that I need to send to you, brand new, no power: Gigabyte x570 xtreme. What is a better time of year to send for your workload? Thx for sharing, glad your eye is OK
Just a heads up, once I was wearing my goggles and a cap blew and it shot right up my nose. Almost had to go to the hospital to get it out but got lucky with some skilled tweezers dexterity and got it pulled out. So just be aware, goggles are not always the only safety gear necessary...
Would you ever waive the bench fee for a no fix if the person accepts to give you their device (for higher end motherboards and GPUS for example) as a donor?
Great video. Would the short you created with the solder blob show up as a heat spot on the thermal camera? I would have been chasing my tail with that.
Nice to watch you fix a more "troublesome" issue. Great work, as always 👌
Wow... just goes to show take precautions around caps..
Heah, that's war, the protection, should be in L format.
LOL, shit happens. Great to watch these videos. We are all humans.
You should always use eyes classes protector you never know what could happend
why would you not wear goggles if youre heating right near caps that can pop?
Do you replace the thermal paste on gpu after the card repair?
Congratulations on the new addition to the family !
Can't say I didn't call this awhile back. smh
👍
What a fantastic fix. Nice work!!
Always be cautious about safety gear because they always happen everytime we felt comfortable without them🥹🥹🥹
And I knew all the safety gear quite a hassle especially for the clarity etc. And for this type of job that xneed a very strong protection maybe you can fine a light safety glass that is super clear but maybe a bit pricier…
AND…I saw on another channel that a specialist on repairing graphic card they used a custom DIY made thin shield for the cap made from a beverages aluminium can and just put a keplon tape of what ever the name is so the heat won’t transfer and that also shield the side of the cap(like in this video maybe the heat come from the uncovered side)
Stay safe! And healthy!
quick recap, saw what you did there...
30:01 nice job soldering that chip
I blew my first cap last week lol
Nice work ❤ love your videos ☕
40 min video! What Da!
I like your Chanel bro
Good job! stay safe sir
no pop corn with flux :)
Great job 👍👍
Glad u ok man😊
now we need safety glasses when repairing a pc
You always need safety Eyewear when doing repair. You need safety glasses when cutting the grass.
Awesome ✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻
1 hello sir
EPI
i hate this new trend where every content creator immediately puts the highlight on the beginning of the video... makes 0 sense its so infuriating. what do they want? less watchtime? wtf really
It's called "a hook". I also don't like it, but it's completely obvious why you'd do that.
The title was a good enough hook for me already. And yeah understandable
