this song feels like that part of a party when you're really drunk and all of sudden you realize something sad. party sadness. this song feels like party sadness.
this guy sounds just like father john misty
XD
Wrong, he sounds like J Tillman
What's great about J is that he fucking belts it out. You don't hear that anymore. fucking love it.
Saw him live in Bilbao this year and said the exact same thing to my mate. Fucking superb.
Rick Grimes high as fuck singing songs and playing the guitar...
This guy is so fucking good. Rock on, Father John Misty. I love the album version of this song but this one is just as great. He is the ladiesman.
Damn it thats a good song. R.I.P dad
I wish I had a voice like his. Beautiful and haunting.
Hermoso
where the hell do i get a robe like that lol
you are born with it
Yeah, this is a great version all stripped down but I have to say I love the harmonies in the recorded version, it's so powerful when he sings the falsetto and then "only son of a ladies man" over it.
Could be seriously my favourite song since Master Of Puppets.
this is by far my favorite fjm song. i cried the first time i heard it
theres too much to choose a favourite
Damn I want these shoes
i really enjoyed this version of the song, great singing

What it's like growing up in Los Angeles !

Great in peace dad !
A lot of soul into it
so bealtiful !
Fantastique

To sync up the audio with the video (why she went in front of the camera to clap her hands).
And he turns his mouth away from the camera to breathe...
yeah....
Story of my life
Why is that woman clapping before the song even begins?
She really appreciates it!
Cool lyrics, and bet he will have big success.. or has he? yeah, whatever fame is... I'm just greedy to have a few good songs to help me be happy. THere are so few good songs, enlightened or whatever, so impossible to explain.
Nope, still shit on the radio for consumers
He is a big deal. Google his. Soooo many great songs
What kind of camera was used to shoot this video?
Looks like a DSLR using the internal mic. They should have used at least a shotgun....this song/performance is better then the sound of this recording. It's a shame.
Frank Ruggles Thanks for your reaction. And thanks for making me watch this video again after half a year and some personal struggles nobody gives a shit about. This video is so awesome, i don't even care about what camera they used anymore or how they recorded it. I just wanna get more drunk and hug this guy until it gets awkward and then just a little longer. Now days everything is recorded and videotaped and maybe we're forgetting to just look at things for what they are.. fackin' awesome..
stiefy666 True.... The performance shouldn't be overlooked and after all that is the point... But, i do agree that if just one shotgun mic was used it would make this already great video better with the sound that it fully deserves.
i believe its open d tuning
You seem like a fun person.
Definitely is a droning, one or two chord type of song, I would guess some alternate tuning too! I guess it's down a full tone, Cool! I don't know many any many any songs in that tuning
Does anyone know what tuning he is in?
+John Mathews one step down
Love this song, and all Josh Tillman's work. Check out the drum cover I just did!
