When you said loukouma and greek my heart melted because we eat this at every cypriot festival from the biggest one kataklismos to the small festivals to each region when they are celebrating their saints holy day. Loukoumades are amazing treats here we just fry them and dip them in syrup and they are amazing. Thank you for making them
I like her techniques😘. I gained a lot of skills from her video🙌👏👍
In Australia we call these “donuts”
LOL!
These r greek loukomades in Australia
Actually, I thought they were the "donut holes" you can also sometimes get at shopping malls; well, used to... Donuts usually have the holes in the centre.
@@Kayenne54 the recipe and the taste is not like donut holes even actually so it is awwama/ lokaimaat/zalabia( arabic recipe)
Actually, they're called loukoumades in Australia, too. Or Greek donuts.
Luqaimat 😃 That’s What they’re called in the Middle East.. Love them at Ramadan after we open our fast. With some Arabic Coffee.. ooooh yeaaaah 😍
When she said that u need to let the dough to rise for abt 2 hrs...im shook, thought that this recipe is only for 1min😂
She has another one
My body is ready for these donuts.

They look dangerous. They are small so I might eat them all in short order without realizing 😅
Omg same here yummm
@@emmasgoodies I'm also ready for these donuts! Thanks for the great tip to use the piping bag. I love that idea.
Me too!!!
I’m Turkish and in my country those are called “Lokma”. Usually there are trucks that sells those. Normally we wouldn’t add anyting other than it’s syrup but in late years, filling them with cream and topping with chocolate, Oreo, etc. became really popular. You’d see too many Lokma shops in Turkey.
Unicorn bükücü but originally it’s Arabic Recipe
modawi it’s just fried dough man, every culture has this recipe
For the glaze you can mix sugar with hot water and rose water. Its delicious, thats how we do in middle east😃 good job!

Just tried this recipe for the first time. The donuts turned out perfectly! Light and tasty. I tossed them in honey and cinnamon. Super-easy to make. I didn’t have a piping bag and used a Ziplock instead with no problems. Waiting two hours for the dough to rise was the hardest part - otherwise, putting the mixture took a minute. Excellent recipe.
Here in Greece it's one of the most famous snack you can find on festivals!! We love them!
OMG! Who else clicked Like as soon as the video started?! Those Greek donuts look perfect!! I love the idea of the honey and chopped nuts ones!

This is also a very traditional Egyptian desert it is called “Zlaba” we Egyptian put them in sugar syrup!
it's called "Zalabya" in Egypt not zlaba.. and we eat it either with sugar syrup or with powdered sugar and in some places as a modern thing we eat it with white and dark chocolate or with caramel.. but the syrupy one is the traditional one

I've been making your other recipe almost weekly and it's the best thing I've ever had. I don't have krispy kreme where I love and other brands are such a let down so I love making them at home. Thankyou so much for sharing these 💕 will surely make em for my family

I've tried them and they absolutely taste amazing
Lol I'm not even kidding they tasted like donuts
I'm impressed only 3 ingredients ,I made them bigger in size
If they are over cooked leave them till the next day
I would prefer glaze rather than maple.

Oh my God these are our traditional doughnuts we also call them luqaimat or kaimat.. i also put yoghurt and a tablespoon of cornstarch to make them extra crispy.. I'm happy you made these 😘😀we eat these with strong black coffee without sugar...
I've been on a sugar free diet for almost 2 months now and this is really not helping me keep my focus ... thanks a lot ! 😂🤤😑
Just toss them in ketchup at the end. No sugar involved dude, you're welcome.
Natalie M Vegetables don't come in a container in which 25 percent of the product is sugar. Ketchup contains sugar. Unless you opt to use a sugar-free one.
Why are you watching this? It's torture. 😂
Abigail Hold up-there's sugar free ketchup?
@@skinni_the_P00hBear ya every walmart I've seen has had some only problem is it's always sweeten with stevia and stuff making the ketchup taste like candy😣😣

This is called "fugias" in goa... i love them, we use coconut milk instead of milk... loved it... reminded me of my childhood when mum would make them

I made this it was soooooo pillowy n soft omg😱🤩🤩🤩so easy to make n very less ingredients 😍😍🤓These tastes exactly like what we call in the Middle East as "luqaimat" or arabian dumplings... Now on this is my go to recipe for sure😋😍😍
And its usually eaten with date syrup or honey as glaze.. But for a change i glazed it with the sugar glaze used for donuts.. It ws really great as well... Thank you so much for this recipe Emma❤️😊😊😍
Most syrup desserts in Greece come from Turkey. We have a lot of common meals due to the past. Anyway, I'm greek and this recipe made me remember my whole childhood! Loukoumades are very popular in festivals and in Greek islands in the summer! (A few months till I eat them again). ♥️
Indeed!!!!😊😊😊
I'm binge watching your videos 😍
They are called 'Kaimati' in swahili then when glazed they are called 'Kaimati za sukari'... I love them!
Did this recipe!!! SO YUMMY! I topped mine with Dulce de Leche and it was delicious! Thank you Emma (:
I've never clicked so fast! I have all the ingredients 😁. So I'm making these for my daughter this evening.
Awesome!! Enjoy love!😍
How did it go?
What are the measurements? TIA
I never made donuts before but these were tastier than I expected! I tried honey glaze, maple syrup, and just plain sugar. I couldn't get them to look quite as uniform as in the video, and putting the dough into the bag was hard. But thank you for sharing! I can't go to the donut shops anymore but these satisfied my cravings!
I guess this is the European way of "kpoff kpoff" or as well called "galette"
Your variation of course expands the horizon!! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
Will try it out tomorrow morning!!!
wow first time i saw like this it was so melting my mouth
We make these all throughout Africa. We call them Toumboura or Mandazi in east Africa (Burundi & Rwanda) . These are bomb!!!

What a delicious morning treat!!
Theese work great thank you I made them vegan and they still work just sub milk for almond milk original and it works and then I made apple syrup and it works good with them
Can you tell how much GRAMS do we need for the yeast because every country does not have the same amount in 1 packet
About 7 grams
Looks yummy. I'm going to try this with gluten free flour and hope for the best.
Loukoumades!!!! They are simply delicious.
They are found in Greece, Turkey, Persia, and Egypt.
The oldest record of them originated in Greece, dating all the way back to 776 B.C from the first Olympic Game.
They gave these delicious golden balls covered in honey to all the winners as "Honey Tokens".
There's even a savoury version of this in South India. We add a bit of rice flour and use curd instead of milk and add stuff like Curry leaves, ginger, slices of mild green chilly to the batter.
Thanks for the historical significance of these rare gems.
Wow the fact this recipe is extremely simply I love it!! I don't know how this got on my recommendation but Im glad it did...ill try to make this.
