Finally we got to see Katerina too. Very cool!
I might have to add this to my menu next week. My husband and I honeymooned in Greece 20 years ago and because of covid we can not celebrate at a restaurant. Instead I am going to make a Greek feast based on Akis recipes I have seen on this channel. Efcharistó

The Italian version is called strufoli or pignolata and is traditionally served during the xmas holidays. Orange and lemon zest is added to the honey syrup at the end of boiling and then tossed with the fried dough balls. They usually are tossed with candied fruit and colored sprinkles. When I make them I try to give a lot away because I can eat the whole tray.
It is always a pleasure to see our common cultures, how it is influenced so long.

I have a very important question for me though, we often have gatherings with large groups and I will have to make Loukoumades the day before as I won’t have time on the day (other things to do and cook) my worry is though that I want them to stay crispy when I serve them… please help
I like baklava. I usually make my own, with honey, no sugar. I haven't tried this on every trip to Greece. I've been to some of the islands, a little bit.😋

The Greek Loukoumades are very similar to the Siculo-Neapolitan struffolli. I'd like to eat both 🇬🇷😋🇮🇹
In arabain gulf we call it "luqymat" we dip them in cool syrup,,then it become crunchy,,we serve it in ramadan🥰😍

These look delicious! If making these for a party, can the first fry be done ahead of time, and the second fry just before serving? If yes, how long can they sit after the first fry?
You can make them several hours in advance. Alternatively you can put them in the freezer after frying them once and fry whenever you want. 😉

It is true. ONLY use wood or plastic spoon. Akis is addicted to sweet food and had NO time or patience to look for wooden spoon. He must be using the GREEK honey, no matter what you use GREEK honey is always best. 🍯🍯🥄🍴🍯🍯

Thank you for this delicious recipe, God bless your hands, you did it so good once again🙏😊 But this should be counted as a sin what you've done (in the late of night making everyone hungry )😄😋😭🙏 By the way, at least for me politiko is ok...a baklava with lots of pistachio.....is also ok..i apologize from the fans of these two for saying this, but loukoumades may be a very orgasmic dessert if it's done properly; it should not absorb oil, long lasting crunchy outside, then when you bite it, blast of syrup in your mouth follows😭😭 For this reason, as for loukoumades i'm very picky in Turkey, most of them ruin the recipe totally.

I tried them today but something is wrong with my recipe i guess, they are full of bubbles and a wierd taste like its uncooked, what i did wrong? I did every single step with right amount of ingredients 😑
Maybe you should fry them more time. Be careful with the temperature of the oil.

You cook to shabby man. At least close the honey lid cleanly and drain the oil properly before putting them on the platter or tissue. You need to learn to be not to shabby.
