Hello, how're you doing? Your comments caught my attention and that is why I am reaching out to you. Your fan love for me warms my heart, Thank you! It's nice meeting you here.
I remember back then hearing this song on the radio for the first time and thinking to myself who is this Angel singing? I had not even seen them until I went to the record store and bought this record. At 16 I fell in love with Steve and the band as a whole. I am 61 now and I will always be a Perry girl til the end🥰 More Journey please but only with Steve and I mean no disrespect to Arnel and others😎
Just listen to the background during the guitar solo. Steve Perry was unreal. If Aretha Franklin referred to him as the greatest rock and roll voice then that carries some serious weight.
I’ve heard this song possibly hundreds of times… it STILL gives me chills!! Steve Perry’s voice, my gosh and Journey? The muses had to bring them altogether at that point in time.
Thank God your eyes and ears were open for Steve Perry's long high note in the end. MOST REACTIONS are either talking over it or have their eyes closed playing their own guitar hero shit,,, Kudos!!!

I saw Journey in concert in 1982 in Philly. What a show! 💕 Love these guys right from the start in the '70s in HS! 💞 Another favorite song of mine is Stone in Love, sbout your first crush. Thanks for your amazing reactions!❤ ❤
A bucket list item for me is to meet Shawn and Mel at an O's game....Glad you loved this song, still one of my all time favorite bands, however, our sweet Mel🌸said, "Come on electric guitar"...but, that was actually Steve singing at 4:43, not sure if she caught that over the guitar solo.
You need to look and listen more closely when Steve is right along side of Neal and that high sustained sound is actually Steve. You can see him take a breath and then hold that soaring voice. Most do not realize that high line is a vocal.
THE STORY BEHIND THIS SONG IS THE BASS GUITARIST ROSS VALORY 'S WIFE WROTE A SONG CALLED WHEELS IN MY MIND THEY LIKED IT. CHANGED IT TO WHEELS IN THE SKY 😊 LOVE WATCHING YOUR REACTION ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU REACT TO JOURNEY WITH STEVE PERRY LOVE Y'ALL 💜💜💜
The very first song I ever heard from Journey was 'Lights'. And then 'Wheel In The Sky'. And YET!!! I didn't know who they were! Until 1980, when a friend literally introduce me to them! And I've been a fan ever since! This song is actually written by Ross Valory's (the bassist) then wife. Now that you've heard this version, now react to the live version from Houston!!
I’m actually not sure if you guys saw it but , during the guitar solo watch steve because all you hear wasn’t just the guitar it’s Steve’s voice during the solo just watch him .
That was my first concert!!!! 11 years old.. Also saw a little known band as an opening band for the tour.. You might know them as Van Halen... Yeah what a first concert!!
YES! Journey is amazing! I have always loved Steve Perry's voice. You should check out anything from "Raised on Radio" their last album with Steve Perry in 1986. especially the "I'll Be Alright without You" video you see Randy Jackson who everyone knows best from his time as a judge on American Idol playing bass with his tight spandex pants LMAO! so many more good hits came off of it before Steve departed with Journey. I feel you I was born in 1979 but still missed out on so much good music only being in elementary school. But never too late to learn like I have love 60's, 70's & 80's Rock!
Hello, how're you doing? Your comments caught my attention and that is why I am reaching out to you. Your fan love for me warms my heart, Thank you! It's nice meeting you here.
Love Journey. I cant say enough about Steve Perry's voice. The influence they had on my generation. Mid 70s thru the early 80s. It influenced our most formative years. Life Love Heartbreak. I remember it all so well. Great memories.
Love your Journey reactions...they were one of my favorite bands back then. I saw them in concert in the Western Chicago Suburbs, Summer 1982. That weekend, they played a softball charity game against the DJ'S from The Loop radio station in Chicago, in my small town of Crystal Lake at a neighborhood ball field. Those days, people were respectful and minimum security was sufficient. The crowd was pretty good size for being so far away from Chicago, and it was awesome to see them play for a local kids charity. These guys were the real deal, loved their fans and care for the communities they visited. I miss those days.
I was a teen in the 70's and we were blessed to grow up listening to the best music ever. There were so many amazing bands! You should check out the song "From the Beginning" by Emerson Lake and Palmer, a great prog rock band.
The life of an over-the-road truck driver isn't exactly a picnic in the Rose Garden. Even while on tour musicians have there been mates to talk to. Unless you're running team, you're sitting in the cab of that truck looking through the windshield sitting in that seat behind the wheel all by yourself, just you and the Almighty! It's a long hard lonely job. Some might ask why you would even do it. Look at it this way, there's an old saying that says if you got it truck brought it. Which is true. Train tracks I'm going to go so far. But this implies to train Engineers as well. And without musicians out sharing their talent and gifts with the world, we wouldn't have music. God bless everyone of them watch over them and protect them.
Truck Drivers wife i definatly ca relate, my husband is my best friiend , and my lover I aways miss him when he's away , this song makes me hope his big wheels keep rolling too. Love you guys. God bless
When Steve Perry was six years old, he was riding with his mom in her car in northern California, when on the radio came Sam Cook. Steve said that he was completely mesmerized by his vocals. The tonality. From that moment on he knew what he wanted to be. He always mentions Sam Cook.
If you like this you have to listen to a more mature Steve Perry. He had thought surgery after the escape album. Listen to "When you love a woman" studio version. If you like power ballads you must hear this song. By far my favorite of Journey. Let me know what you think?
My personal favorite amongst many great songs by Journey! For some reason I always equate this song with the Vietnam War! I don’t know if the dates are right but it reminds me of helicopters flying and heading into battle not knowing where you’re going! Maybe it’s just me!
