My new headlights for my BMW 1 Series coupe. Mars performance is located in Australia, I got these from their ebay site and had them shipped to the UK. They are expensive, but in my opinion much better than DEPO's.

Lol ur hella excited i know it.. Congrats bruh
Hey man are these bixenon?
Btw the car look sick I love it, i'm thinking to get one for myself 118d E87.
Thanks pal, no the high beam is in a separate projector.
hey man, the lights look great, nice upgrade. Been looking into getting a set, but I read somewhere that if the halo's blow, you have to replace the whole unit. Just wondering if yours were still working fine.
I have since sold the car, but the halo bulb blowing is very rare, the inverter is more likely to blow but they can be replaced.
Thanks for the quick reply. So sorry to hear she's gone lol Ive had mine just over a year now and still love it, just had bonnet wrapped and windows tinted.
cheers ;)
It's looking good mate, just a question. Do I pair up the ccfl wires (red and black) and connect them to the new sidelight wires? Or the sidelight wires on the car?
wkdnw wjndwjd hi, did you find out?
I’m looking to buy some units for my 1 series any suggestions on where to buy them!!
Hola amigo donde puedo comprarlos?
I am about to fit these my self, what was involved in fitting the levelling motors? And where did you get power for the CCFL's?
+Garry Ellsmore Wire the CCFLS to your original side light wires. And simply remove your old motors from your aold unit and put them in the new ones.
Hey brother, Nice video
Im going to buy these CCFL headlights, could you please tell me which other bulbs you got beside the headlights? Like the side light LED (dice). Turn side bulb also, could you give me the numbers or which brand do you recommend. Thanks
HI pal, I just went on ebay, they are some cheap chinese ones never had an issue though, search for 5050 SMD.
How much did the aftermarket headlamps cost you, I want to get some for my 3 series.
My headlamps are halogen and hate them. I love angel eyes.
I think they were about £350-400 delivered from Mars in Australia.
Cheers for the reply mate. How long did the shipment take to get to you after you had ordered them
Was quite quick, about a week.
So when your driving around during the day the angel eyes are lit up bright enough that you can see them?
Minimee321 CCFL halos, are not as bright as LED ones during the day. If it is VERY sunny then the CCFL halos are visible but not as visible as LEDs, but if its VERY sunny why you got them on? lol. But when its cloudy, or dawn, or dusk they look incredible and they are brighter than LEDs at night. Think of them signs from VEGAs.
I know it might be long time now, but where did you bought those dice looked side lights & turning light from? Thanks mate!
+Leo YIN all from ebay pal
hi,
please could tou say to me how did you connect CCFL's wire (red and black) with the quick connect?
because all is ok for me but the rings don't work i don't know how i have to connect with the quick connect
could you say me please or if you can send photos of the wires behind
thanks
I cut the connectors off the stock sidelight wiring, and soldered the CCFLs to them.
I just bought a 1 series coupe 120d m (2012) to get the white led type lights you have do I need to change out the whole light unit or just the bulbs ??? Thanks and nice vid
gcirc You will need to change the entire light unit, that is what i am unboxing.
Which type of Led are there in these headlight? In my headlamp there are 2 PCs 5mm LED bulb/ ring. Its bright weak. It looks good in night but in day not.
Hi,bthe halo rings are not LED they are CCFL, that gives you the continuous light without breaks. 👍
Hello, nice video. I have a question are these units built for halogens or hid? also what is the "cut off line" like? thanks
you can fit either, cut off is decent takes awhile to line it up proper.
+MilitantAsian Oh okay sounds good. One last question if you don't mind, did you have any trouble with MOT passing?
No, but my brother works for a garage so not much of a problem, it will only fail if you have HIDs fitted and no headlight washers.
Oh okay thanks for your help
I got a bmw 1 series, do you use the same bulb for high and dipped beam?
No there two separate bulbs
How much did they cost you with the bulbs im thinking on changing mine and what site did u get them from
marsperformance.com.au/ they also have an eBay store. The lights were about £450 with postage, which is ALOT coming from Australia. The bulbs were about £28 a pair.
Hi mate did you get a warning light after you fitted them?
+Robert Hermeston no i didn't, you get a warning light if its not wired properly or you have installed HIDs without canbus adapters.
Does installing 3rd party aftermarket headlights impact your insurance much?
not really.
How did you make it so the lights come on when you unlock the car?
Minimee321 Wire the halos to the side lights, and when u turn off your car leave dipped beam on. when it locks the lights go out but when unlocked the lights come on.
I know this is a different video but where did you get you sub build done
K&M acoustics in wigan
hey mate I was wondering if your car has/had adaptive headlights ? mine has adaptive halogens and im not sure if I can have those mars performance headlights fitted..
nobleonenoble2 I had halogens, with auto levelling. You have to remove the old motors from your OEM headlights and retrofit them into the new headlights. Its abit fiddly but pretty easy to do.
MilitantAsian nice!!
How do you know if you have auto levelling or adaptive headlights... all I know is I have auto headlight (That you know come on by themselves) and day time running lights
Hey mate, I've bought the exact same lights but not sure what you're meant to do with the extra black/red wires and the black box taped tot he side. Also with the bulbs in the projector section, did you have to completely unscrew the brackets to remove the bulb? and lastly the auto levelling system, how does that fit in?
Nim Mehra The black and red wires are for the Halo's, you need to wire them to your stock sidelights or they wont work. You only have to unscrew one screw on the bracket to unclip it enough to fit the bulb. The auto levelling system fits in the same place as the stock headlight, you have to remove them from your stock headlight and retrofit into these. Hope that helps.
MilitantAsian yeah that helps a bunch, so you need to wire the halo wires to the same connection point as the lamp(the little bulb) yes?
yes thats right
Hi a quick question.. the little bulb or the lamp is that on the new headlight unit which the red and black wires connect to?
Can you PLEASE make a short on that? Im struggling
Cool, so the wheel needs to come off?
+Robert Hermeston no you can just turn the wheel on full lock and get access to it.
Can you give me any information on the screen you've had fitted? For the life of me can't get any joy. Mines e 88 convertible. Thanks
Parrot Asteroid Smart
Oh snap I knew I recognised the car... was that the Chinese system and it legit worked till the end?
@@EzzraOG no its made by Parrot.
Alright mate been trying to contact Mars perormance and got no reply could you please send me the link from where you Got yours from.
Thanks
snipa227 I got them from Mars Performance Ebay Store mate.
Hi mate I've just bought these for my 1 series, confused with the bulbs! My projector is a bit yellow compared to the other bulbs, which bulbs did you use in the projector to make it white? Many thanks!
+Robert Hermeston Hi the projector bulb will always be yellower than your other bulbs because they are really designed for HIDs and dim normal halogens. You can either buy 5000k or higher halogens or buy HIDs. I went for HIDs.
+MilitantAsian thanks for getting back so quick! I'm pretty new to all this stuff, are the HIDs the ones you have in the video? Could you send me the link and I'll get some ordered, thanks!
Hi I will tell you now I had a nightmare getting HIDs to work with the car lol, but finally got it sorted after much perseverance and trying various different kits and looms. What year is your car? and is it a coupe?
+MilitantAsian haha not much hope for me then! It's a 2010 coupe, same as yours but the fog lights are not the round ones if you know what I mean?
Ah ok yeah, if you want to install HIDs below are links to everything you will need to get it working properly on the car without flickering and canbus errors, its not cheap and it will not pass MOT if you don't have washer jets installed but if you know a garage they will probs pass it anyway. It's not cheap but its worth it and really looks good in the lights.

Where did you connect that small light below the high beam?
23briansanchez wired it to the sidelights and halos.
MilitantAsian I'm kind of confused what you mean. But I will see how it turns out. I really liked the way you set up your led turn signal light. I had the same idea to avoid the yellow yolk look on the signals and came across you video to see a better example
when you fit it you should see what I mean, they just wire into the existing sidelight wire.
Militant Asian I want to ask you something, how can we recognize the sidelight cable? Which slot should I use to wiring?
Are this the sonar brand lights?
+Michael H. no they are mars performance
+MilitantAsian ah ok! They looks exactly like the sonar... :)
how did they handle over time
I don't have the car anymore, but had no issues with them the time I had it.
Where are the installation?
Hi sorry I did not film the install.
Am I correct in thinking you have to take the bumper off every time you need to change a bulb? I can't get into the projector part!!!
+Robert Hermeston Hi, no you do not have to take the bumper off, if you look on your inside wheel arch there is an opening you can remove that is held on with two plastic screws, then you can access the other screws for your projectors.
is there any way i can contact you ? would like to no a bit more about how you have done all this were are you based ?
+pattyhewson7 I don't own a garage or anything mate i just put it together myself lol.
+MilitantAsian hi buddy Yeah I didn't mean if you had a garage. long story short I've just bought a 120d 1 series coupe. I'm currently racking my brains at what headlights to put on it at the moment as the orange bulbs aren't doing the car any favours. I've read loads of threads on babybmw.net about depo v1 & v2's but they all look pretty poor. The only reason I wanted to direct message you was just so I don't have to bore you to deaf on here. The lights that you bought look brilliant. If I did go ahead and buy some just wanted to be able to contact you if I have any problems as I am pretty new to my bmw at the mo.
Patrick Hewson fitting them is pretty straightforward, just a pain because you have to remove the front bumper, then you just need to wire the halos to your original sidelight wiring.
Are they loads better than the depo's mate ? Well worth getting them imported from Australia ? How much was they all together mate including import charges ?
think it cost me around £400, i prefer them to depos yes and they dont fog up either.
where did you get all the bulbs from ?
Mars performance.
