Post-daybreak entrance has been one of the greatest pieces of advice that you have provided combined with switchgrass screening on our farm.

100%. Break those old hunting rules like “have to get out there before daylight!”

Great advice as always. Your channel has drastically changed how I manage and hunt my properties. Still a lot to learn but always improving. Thanks Jeff.

Great video. Back when we was younger we had no idea and we would walk right through the middle of a ag field in the morning or at night

This is the video I’ve needed! What a lot of my permission properties are! When people say ag fields in Midwest we say Hay fields in Va

I mowed our in and out access path last weekend..
    Our switch is looking great!
I'm going to move a stand one tree over today and spray buckwheat. It's too early for me to get my winter rye broadcast. But it's getting close.
Coming to Minnesota for bear hunt up by Mille Lac lake in few days. Stoked for that..but really I'm ready for deer here at home in Indiana.

I own zero ag fields. I do have ag north, west, and east of me with wooded borders. To the south there's about sixty acres of woods and then you guessed it: more ag. I'm on a peninsula of woods trailing into the center of it.
This helps a ton telling me what's more effective than rolling dice on where to sit. Thanks.

I can't agree more. Ive spooked so many deer trying to get to my stand over an ag field before daybreak. I have had way more success doing a post daybreak entrance in this spot

Jeff, I appreciate your knowledge. I live on 57 Acers 42 of which are big open hay fields. My neighbor has 30 Acers of pines behind me and he cut all the under growth winter of 22. now it's all head high cover. Really hoping that all that cover being back is gonna help me this fall.

I picked up a new piece of property here In sw mi and it holds some really nice bucks. It has ag fileds all around it. Because of the land features it never seems like there is a stable wind direction. It is two sets of ridged that drops into a low bottom. Any recommendations on how to to start hunting the property. It's so thick that deer bed on both sides of the property so it's hard to stay up wind of them.

I understand that this is definitely not a terrible idea of trying to not spook deer if you have absolutely everything in your favor, however you add public/ private, hill country or flat land, thermal climb and honestly we are just terrible on timing and we just ran into the deer. I believe that deer are definitely often spooked and they are running from coyotes, humans, pressure, food wind and the fact that they are just grazing forage in the timber and they spook. I believe that it is not necessarily about spooking deer but pushing deer. If deer are spooked typically they will run 50 yards and then look back and then they will possibly circle the down wind side and then possibly keep running. I am just thinking that this is definitely helpful for private property that you can manipulate with your goals and what you are providing for your herd. I have really hated the moment I often see tails running however I really believe that if I get set up quickly and then I will possibly get a shot on public.

A lot of us in the south east hunt farmers land. Many are cow farms.
