My Mum has a Jaquard woven table cloth with this type of weave. Besides the simple, but stunning design you created, it's brought back great memories of Sunday best family dinners.
You have the best tutorials. I`ve seen a lot. Great! You made very clear instructions. I am from Germany and I don´t understand all words and phrases and so I like especialy instuctions without a lot of verbal declarations. Thank you!
Wow, this quilt certainly has a lot going on. At first glance I was thinking it would be complicated, but it was more about moving the unit around. Amazing, thanksCarol for sharing. 👍❤️😊
Carol, I love your method of teaching. Your tutorials are so detailed and inspiring. Thank you, so much for saring your quilting knowledge and skills. Pat
Am loving ur instructions so much! Simple, clear n crisp! The beauty is all the more as for complex looking design u give us so much confidence to try our hands at. Thank u for all the pain taken to make this video.
Really a great job with the instructions! Thank you! I'll follow at least two of the suggested lay-out options. Started earlier this afternoon with six completed blocks at quittin' time! There's a big quilt-loving family here and, who knows, maybe a third lay-option will be followed with a surprise in a new pallet
Thank you so much for this fabulous tutorial!! I love it when tutorials get right to the point and don't waste my time sewing every seam together (I skip a lot of those). This quilt is on my list to make, and thanks to you it will be a breeze!! Can you do a tutorial on making a twisted log cabin?
Great tutorial! Thanks! Personally, option 3 with the big squares put together makes most sense to my brain; however, option 1 is what I'd like to try.
I've always loved this. A friend of mine makes one that is slightly different cutting, but looks very like (Maggie Ball). She even did a book. Yours reminded me that I need to make one of these Your quilt is great!
Very cool until we got to the layout options which only showed half the blocks - none had the complementary large white square blocks included. Surely that would make a big difference in the pattern. My concern is that the curvature only is seen from a great distance. I would hate to do all that work and not see the effect. What does it look like on the bed?
Good catch, Elaine! Check out additional images here - quilt-notes.blogspot.com/2022/01/how-to-make-curvy-quilt-from-strips.html I don't think I'd make this pattern for a bed. It is best viewed when it is hung vertically. The illusion is lost once the quilt is horizontal. The same thing happens when the Hollow Cubes quilt - ruclips.net/video/XD5KvP8PUMM/видео.html - is placed on the bed. The three-dimensional effect is lost there as well. Thanks for the comments and thanks for watching!
I really like option 3 but to get that would I need to make twice as many blocks to get a solid center square in each? It seems like I would actually get a large light and large dark square in the centers......
OK you got me scratching my head for a little now.... You are right that you would need twice the blocks. I checked in my Electric Quilt software and I only used one block in Option 3 on the video. That was the block with the large dark square. If you used all blocks with a large white square you would have the large white centers. When you use an equal amount of light and dark blocks and alternate them, you would get the checker board look. I made a few changes on my website so check those out here - quilt-notes.blogspot.com/2022/01/how-to-make-curvy-quilt-from-strips.html Thanks for letting me know and thanks for watching.
Is there any way to print this pattern without downloading the Wave Browser on my computer? Most patterns you can easily click on and one is able to print without the Wave Browser. I do not wish to add a Wave Browser. Any help would be greatly appreciated. This is a beautiful quilt and I would love to make one! Thank you!
I don't know what a Wave Browser is but there isn't a download for this quilt. The video shows you how to make the block and gives the size strips to cut. These are also listed on my blog quilt-notes.blogspot.com/2022/01/how-to-make-curvy-quilt-from-strips.html Hope this helps.
I haven't seen the Ricky Timms version, but it's probably based on the Fibonacci Sequence as my version is. I saw another version in Amy Ellis's book, Modern Neutrals. Her quilt is called Placid Curves. I would imagine that the fewer fabrics used will really make the curves stand out more. Thanks for watching!
Duh! Too early my brain didn't recognize the Fibonacci Sequence. I would love to make one using my large collection of indigoes. Have to play with them virtually. Thank you for a concise but thorough explanation--some youtubers seem to never get to the point. Kudoes!

Nein, du nähst sie zusammen. Danke fürs zuschauen.

Isn't this from a Ricky Timms quilt book. I've made one similar to this from a book on Convergence Quilts by Ricky Timms. I made mine with 4 fabrics.
