Thanks
Need new shifter boots on top of transmission if keep out side or under a lean tune shed will get water in it from outside air in the winter.
Great video Mark, have the same tractor and have picked up some good points from it, cheers from the land down under!
Thanks. Very cool, that's a long ways from home! Cheers
Thank you for the great video
Fords brought out the oil filter conversion kit in 1970. The old filter was cfpn6731a.
Just found your channel. I watched the JD606 rebuild....Like your style.
Thanks!
You can buy the square plug socket set for your tractor on line. Bets rounding them of order it for 1/2 inch drive.
Thanks I'll look for them
Ooo dostum güzel bakım yaptın eline sağlık 😊
Your oil check plug on top is missing the dipstick.
In the UK we filled the gearbox a gallon of parafin and drove it for a few minutes & then drained it.
Good idea to clean the gearbox
Mark, I also have the same issue with a leaking steering box on my ford 5000. On the steering arm shaft there are two seals on that side. One is C5NN3C615B, which is a rubber oil seal and there is a dust seal, C5NN3528A. Hope that helps ya out.
Awesome, thank you! Great to finally have the part numbers
No worries! Seems to be a pretty common issue on these. You have a really nice tractor.
Thanks!
Good video Mark. I've never tried this but from what I've seen you can put diesel in the cases, run around the yard for a few minutes and then drain it to clean sludge and gunk out. Pete from Just A Few Acres Farm did it on one of his rebuilds...think it was his Farmall MD. I have to redo the power steering on my 5000...I fill up the reservoir and it empties in about 30 seconds when running...I know what the problem is, I just don't look forward to it!
Thanks! That sounds like a good trick, using diesel to wash the sump. I'll that some day!
I need to do the same thing to my 4000. I like that lip on your adapter. I don't have one and get oil all over the side of the block.
It makes filter changes much cleaner. Something could be make with some scrap pieces of sheet metal
If you already have a spin on filter, take a sharp punch and hammer a hole into the bottom of the end of the oil filter. Drains out the filter, no mess. You’re replacing it anyway.
helpful video. had to laugh at you calling a crescent wrench a farmers special, but using a chain for a top link.
Haha, yes, I am guilty of the chain top link. Next on the shopping list is a nice top link.
Great video . I have just bought one, but it has no grill to protect the radiator in the front. Where can I get or make a one, and what material should I use ?
I have a small link on the steering wheel oil junction
How can I solve it ?
Mine is an 1975 Ford 5000
I am from Portugal, Europe .
Merhaba bende 1972 model Ford 5000 var ,şanzıman yağı kaç numara koymaliyim, defransiyel yağı kaç numara olmalı teşekkürler.
I believe if u pull the top cover, under the seat, u cn access the hyd. Filter, and or screen. Still a pain, but less work than pulling brake pedal arm's, step's, and clutch arm.
Thanks. When the time comes, I may go that route
You can do that but you have to remove shaft on top 4 bolts on rear plate
Hello Mark, I have a County Ford with a 5000 backend. I currently have gear oil in my gearbox and Tractor oil in my rear end. The gearbox and rear end do not have a common reservoir do they ?
I am not familiar with a County Ford, but with my Ford 5000 there is a separate reservoir for the transmission and the rear axle/hydraulic.
@@marktolman6037 thank you for your reply . the county ford does have the Ford 5000 backend. so it should be the same!
Should have flushed it with diesel fuel.
Great idea for next time
It's not that big of a job. Only thing that needs to come off is the break pedals and the foot rest. Then the pump can come off. It's like a 2-3 hour job is all.
Thanks. Maybe I'll tear into it this winter.
