    They used two different types of filters , on that motor. Short fat ,or a long skinny. Don't forget to change the oil injector pump.

    I would like to use a hammer to this job. Be carfull to screw on the bolt in center. Use the hammer first before you screw on the center bolt. The most important to get the o- ring inside metal edge.

    I'm sure you know this, but the cable from the tach attaches on the back of the generator.

    I also recently discovered your channel and subscribed. I inherited a Ford 5000 in similar condition so your channel is extremely helpful.
    What type of oil did you use when you changed the oil?

      I honestly do not remember. But I am a fan of Shell Rotella for diesel engines. But I think I used the cheaper stuff from tractor supply (Traveller) this time because its what I had on hand.

    I have a Ford 4100 1977 and my steering pump was losing oil all the time and the hydraulic system was so clear and had no leaks but when i checked the engine oil level it was always filling up over the level , i opened the steering pump and found that the axle that rotates by the gear of engine has play in the bearings and the oil seal was leaking all the time… and the oil of the steering pump was going at the engine all the time🤦‍♂️

      I had that happen to me on an old backhoe. The bad pump would push oil into the motor so fast it would stall the motor.

    Mine has been leaking at the line you didn’t remove on the bottom. I’ve changed fittings and line and still leaks at the joint? Do I have a blockage in the column somewhere maybe?

    • @stevewatr

      Maybe there is damage on one of the mating surfaces, the side you did not change? Parker makes a special teflon washer you can use on these flared fitting to help with this.

      You change the oil in your tractor and the next thing you know it's 20 years later.

    Wondering if you could have flushed the rest out by turning it on🤔

    • @stevewatr
      @stevewatr  Год назад +1

      maybe, but I was worried it might squirt out to fast, and make a bigger mess
