Omg this is Gold! I always wanted to know whats the exact spot the pros would hit, and I always thought they used side in every shot, I was so wrong! Its just a series of soft screws and stuns, no side at all, only a little bit sometimes! I need to go play right now!
Side complicates the issue, and pros avoid it because it makes pots missable. Better to play for position without them if needed, apart from a touch here and there.
Price was a good player himself at the time but made to look super ordinary by ronnie. The break wasn’t a given as many assumed he had to make it at points with very precise positioning and timing. And...What better ref to have for that break too than the late great Len Ganley, my favourite referee of all time - he just a way with the players; led them but also served with a servants attitude. Beautiful man
zed tobias he tries to play so as to give himself options on each shot. Ok he didn’t disturb the 2 reds but was still in control of the cue ball and still developed the 2 reds 3 shots later 👍
i have been planning to make this kind video as the cue ball hit point is skill secrets, but i dare not to make because no professional tells me what point for each shot while i am an amauter of 59points maximumly. another question is that how Israel has such professional snooker fans, amazing
The basics of the aim and contact point isn't a well guarded secret. The fine balance of hitting the sweet spot and missing it defines how knowledgeable a player is and his/her control over the cue ball. As for snooker itself, although it isn't a sport to rival (for the sake of the argument of popularity let's say) football, it still has quite a big appeal to many countries that are not well represented (if any) amongst the professionals. It's fantastic to see the game reach out to audiences all over the world.
That's not what left-hand side does to the cueball - it was a screw back played at an angle, causing the cueball to arch around in the way it did with barely any noticable affect of side, making me believe he didn't use any as there's no need to make the shot harder than it is. The white started travelling along the natural angle it would have without spin, then the screw took effect in the opposite to direction to that in which he struck it and caused it to be pulled back towards him. Side affects the cueball minimally unless it hits the cushion, or you really strike down on it.
john cooper ur wrong as well.. its side not backspin.. the americans call the side the 'english'.. they call back spin 'backspin' for the most part I think
No, it's definitely top spin. Back spin with left hand side would have sent the cueball to the right of the reds. Top spin is what allows the cue ball to slightly "banana" and come off the top cushion at the right angle for the canon.
The one thing that sets him apart from all other's in his status is his "TIMING" is impeccable.
ive been waiting for bbc to do this on their live programmes for years!
Best video uploaded in youtube about teaching snooker shots.... well done keep up the good work
Just by showing where to strike the cue ball for the break off, my break has Improved massively. Thank you for the great video

dias.piano it’s not that simple lol there’s technique, stance, correct shot to take etc.. but good luck on improving your game 👍
That exactly what i learned today

Great video, always wished they had a camera angle that views from behind the player
every player should get a go pro on their heads before matches
Thanks for the video. Learnt much on cue ball control

I've probably watched the Maximum By Ronnie more times than Herbert from Family guy watches kids play in the park.
I’ve always wished they made this feature available on snooker highlights
AMAZING TUTORIAL VIDEO!!!! MORE LIKE THAT!!!!
Totally in the zone.
147,000 pound offered for a 147???? in 1997 thats insane
Justice Walker £1000 per point.
Justice Walker its the equivalent to 1 million today
Kevin C its a lot more than they get now for one either way. Do you play?
Kevin C just used exaggeration to make the point that nowadays the prizes suck pal
Kevin C ok pal

Ronnie O'Sullivan vc é um gênio, o melhor de todos os tempos, abraços fiquem com Deus

Reminds me of my break last week, I was on my way to a 147, missed the second red....
That kid is a rocket!
You see, that snooker table is a trapezoid shape. Is there any other video that can be seen in a normal rectangular snooker table?
Awsome video love the inglish points location
i was on my way to a 147 myself, until i missed the first red.
Brilliant. I'm not English, but Bloody Brilliant. haha

4:37 the audience clap and cheer but Ronnie was trying to disturb the nearest reds
zed tobias he tries to play so as to give himself options on each shot. Ok he didn’t disturb the 2 reds but was still in control of the cue ball and still developed the 2 reds 3 shots later 👍
Great Video.. appreciated...
nice video
Lovely
good video
Ronnie was quoted as saying that he uses side on everyshot he plays
Every safety, not every shot
@@platformptgym He uses side on every shot he plays.
@@qazzell a source to back up your claim would be nice.
There is always a touch of side. Mostly running side.
you will never see that again.talent at it's best, you don't buy that.............

Has anyone claimed to have the chalk that Ronnie threw to the fans?
Love
Play better than me than in game lol. I can’t even get 147 in Pro Snooker 2018
Play Snooker Stars (from Giraffe Games), is much better. :-)
3:18 It's not just down. If it had been, the object ball would've travelled just back. It was down and left.
That's not what left-hand side does to the cueball - it was a screw back played at an angle, causing the cueball to arch around in the way it did with barely any noticable affect of side, making me believe he didn't use any as there's no need to make the shot harder than it is. Not really. Just less backspin and enough power. The angle was enough.
Siergiej882 Kowaliow nahh.. Shut up down left it would stop the cue ball
Needs a touch of left with bottom for the cue ball to plough through the pack as it did.. plain screw wont do it.
1.11 he plays centre ball not top spin. A few dubious spins on here
Meanwhile Edbon still can not find the cue ball.
so op that the commentators barely have anythg to say
i think this is underestimating the amount of english in some shots...
its called back spin, you silly yank. only american pool players call it english.
john cooper ur wrong as well.. its side not backspin.. the americans call the side the 'english'.. they call back spin 'backspin' for the most part I think
At 4:54 its not forword spin...its lil back with lil left spin

offsetsammy yes definitely top spin 👍
Best luck in world : being the person that caught the chalk
Worst luck in world : no-one believing you and having to live with a worthlesss chalk
I must say anni diya ayee mazaak aye.. 😂
