    Omg this is Gold! I always wanted to know whats the exact spot the pros would hit, and I always thought they used side in every shot, I was so wrong! Its just a series of soft screws and stuns, no side at all, only a little bit sometimes! I need to go play right now!

      Side complicates the issue, and pros avoid it because it makes pots missable. Better to play for position without them if needed, apart from a touch here and there.

    Price was a good player himself at the time but made to look super ordinary by ronnie. The break wasn’t a given as many assumed he had to make it at points with very precise positioning and timing.
    And...What better ref to have for that break too than the late great Len Ganley, my favourite referee of all time - he just a way with the players; led them but also served with a servants attitude. Beautiful man

      zed tobias he tries to play so as to give himself options on each shot. Ok he didn’t disturb the 2 reds but was still in control of the cue ball and still developed the 2 reds 3 shots later 👍

    i have been planning to make this kind video as the cue ball hit point is skill secrets, but i dare not to make because no professional tells me what point for each shot while i am an amauter of 59points maximumly.
    another question is that how Israel has such professional snooker fans, amazing

    • @werliverpooltralalalala1988
      @werliverpooltralalalala1988 8 лет назад +1

      The basics of the aim and contact point isn't a well guarded secret. The fine balance of hitting the sweet spot and missing it defines how knowledgeable a player is and his/her control over the cue ball. As for snooker itself, although it isn't a sport to rival (for the sake of the argument of popularity let's say) football, it still has quite a big appeal to many countries that are not well represented (if any) amongst the professionals. It's fantastic to see the game reach out to audiences all over the world.

    3:18 It's not just down. If it had been, the object ball would've travelled just back. It was down and left.

    • @Cowmilker98
      @Cowmilker98 7 лет назад +6

      That's not what left-hand side does to the cueball - it was a screw back played at an angle, causing the cueball to arch around in the way it did with barely any noticable affect of side, making me believe he didn't use any as there's no need to make the shot harder than it is. The white started travelling along the natural angle it would have without spin, then the screw took effect in the opposite to direction to that in which he struck it and caused it to be pulled back towards him. Side affects the cueball minimally unless it hits the cushion, or you really strike down on it.

    • @TheMrTipZy
      @TheMrTipZy 6 лет назад

      Not really. Just less backspin and enough power. The angle was enough.

    • @Xorfilho90
      @Xorfilho90 6 лет назад

      Siergiej882 Kowaliow nahh.. Shut up down left it would stop the cue ball

    • @fesham5811
      @fesham5811 5 лет назад

      Needs a touch of left with bottom for the cue ball to plough through the pack as it did.. plain screw wont do it.

  • @TheJohnCooper

      john cooper ur wrong as well.. its side not backspin.. the americans call the side the 'english'.. they call back spin 'backspin' for the most part I think

  • @saisravanth6780

    At 4:54 its not forword spin...its lil back with lil left spin

    • @offsetsammy
      @offsetsammy 6 лет назад +1

      No, it's definitely top spin. Back spin with left hand side would have sent the cueball to the right of the reds. Top spin is what allows the cue ball to slightly "banana" and come off the top cushion at the right angle for the canon.

    • @deanskidmore261
      @deanskidmore261 6 лет назад

      offsetsammy yes definitely top spin 👍
