Really enjoyed this video. That cheeky flick on the red can't believe how easy he made it look. Would love to see this with a headcam on to see Ronnie's thinking because he literally plays every shot with side.
Pretty sure he will only use side when he absolutely has to, since it throws the cue ball off the line of the shot. Sure, this can be compensated for, but why make a shot harder for yourself than it has to be? If he gets himself into a good position then he should only need to be striking along the vertical centre line of the cue ball.
@@mez7736 Ronnie himself said that he actually plays every shot with side and over time just learned to compensate for it. It becomes a second nature really with the time these guys devote to the game.
Thank you Ronnie and Eurosport for making this video! You make it look so easy but it is not. Your advice makes so much sense! Awesome! Hope to meet Ronnie some day!

The angles, that fascinates me in the game of pool. It is not just pocketing the balls, but positioning. Amazing. I hope that one day the Eurosport channels will arrive on cable television in Brazil so that I can enjoy all the ranked tournaments on the circuit.
There's also the fact that the pink is on its spot, which could never possibly be the case after a break off. That said, we never saw a break off as he started with an easy red lol
@@garrettkelly5568 are you smoking crack? How can it be a reverse angle, if that was the case then yellow and green would be the other way around. He plays the shot leaning over the middle pocket and then next shot is from the same place u melon. 😂😂😂
Quite simply the greatest that has ever done it. In his head to heads with the unbelievable Steven Hendry he came out as a clear and decisive winner. Ronnie won 31 to Hendrys’s 11. A genius who took the game to a new level when nobody really thought it was possible. Watching him has been a genuine privilege.
Ronnie is my sporting hero & he makes it all look stupidly easy! I don't think the game will ever see a player of his ability again, so enjoy him while you still can! 👍
2:54 and 2:56 ... Not that Ronnie needs it but those table elves must've come out and moved that red at least 3 inches further from the cushion. For my own 147s I only need them to do that for every shot I play, and then have a couple of them either side of the pocket to "help" guide my shots into the pockets. 😂
An educational video on building 147 breaks without moving a few stray whites around with your hand - the kind of thing you can do when you've 147s coming out of your ears! Crazy!
Hi. I’ve just watched this video on how to get a 147, but I went to the local snooker hall and only managed to get a break of 5. Who do I complain to please?
Nice set up from the start which isn't always the norm, but Ronnie makes this game look easy. He has always been very accurate. Will be a sad day when he hangs up his cue.
Edited. The development shot on the 2 red on cush, the ball he pots after the split, is now way too easy compared to how it laid. But its ok in my book as they are just trying to explain the positional shots u go through to make the max
I love how he says, "When you see this (spread reds) the FIRST THING that comes to mind is a 147 ..." Yeah - maybe for you Ronnie. Most of us are just thinking, "Don't miss the easy red! Don't miss the easy red!"
That’s ok he was just doing it for entertainment so he could show us his thought process and how he goes about it. After all he holds the World record for the most televised 147’s.
Of course it's edited. He's just giving an insight into it. It's very hard in any sport just to recreate or do anything on tap. Snooker more so as balls can run awkward
In the video, Ronnie talks of thinking 3 shots ahead but I wonder how far ahead do they think when they get to the table? Do the top players start picturing a 147 right from the get go or does it take a few shots before it becomes more apparent they have a good chance
It's a valid question. That's something I'm analyzed for years of how do they know and when is that apparent. I will say this, this is what I've learned. As the score climbs it reaches (40) at one point and then (80) at another point. If you were to ask, well which is easier for the top break builders ? Getting 40 or getting 80. I would respond saying both , they are easier as each other. But what makes the 147 hardest section of balls Is the moment right after (80) There has been 10 reds and 10 blacks sunk to make (80) but I strongly believe the final 5 reds followed by 5 blacks are the hardest 10 strokes made in the 147. A ton of people may argue and go nawwwww no way, The table has such vast open area available with only 5 reds left. But the trouble is is ... Those last reds are often tied up. In a Ronnie break he does cute little screws bumps and nudges and the cue ball barely travels far. Never hindering his 5 last reds. But Bob your question was, does a top player know right from the get go or does it take a few shots before it becomes more apparent. My scientific answer is is .. Its apparent when that 14th maybe 15th red is sunk and a player is looking down the shaft of the cue on the final black ( before the last 6 colors ) A better explanation is .. yellow to black is kiddie stuff for any player. Even terrible break builders rock at the final 6 colors on their spots. So its slightly before that moment is when they know. It isn't the 7th last shot , its not the black , but its that final red to black is the key to every 147. A person could leave no shape from black to yellow and throw the moment in the gutter. From the 36 shots taken for the 147. Shot 29 is the key ball The final red is when they know. And its after the cue ball settles and shows them the shape on black they have.
IDK EXACTLY DOES THAT TIP OF A QUE CAN TOUCH THAT MAT AFTER HITTING THOSE SHOTS....... IT'S JUST A TRIAL HOW ROS PLAYS THAT 147....I THINK THERE IS NOTHING MYSTERIOUS OVERTHERE..... GREAT ONE....

I don't know I never thought of that. My strategy after potting the first red was to miss the black. Now I can definitely hit a 147. No doubt..

Ronnie being very generous here. A free 147 for RUclips.
